RYLEE SLIPS THE FIELD TO SOLO HOME FOR HIS FIRST WIN Rylee Field has been in super strong form this season and
despite missing out to the faster sprinters in earlier rounds, this week no one was going to catch him when he simply rode off the front on the last lap.
It was almost a reverse lead out when Crit Dawg team mates Alex Nazarewicz and Brad Mills subtly let Field ride away on the last pimple. Alex Naz stayed in the hunt to make it a Crit
Dawg one, two relegating ZCC sprinter Jack Bennett to another Tuesday Night with no cigar.
Hot, dusty conditions greeted a reduced field of just under 70
riders and the blustery westerly wrecked havoc on the field to leave just 12 riders to contest the chase/sprint.
Congratulations to the 3 B grade riders who were part of the
front group with Alex Durrant Whyte snatching the win on the
line of from in form Jaxon Italiano. Peter O’Connor continues to
reap the benefits of the extra hours he’s clearly putting in on the road.
C grade had the smallest field and paid the price in the tough
conditions with Michael Stanton riding the best to out distance
his rivals to claim his first Tuesday Night win with a strong ride. Only 3 other C graders made it to the finish with Baz Doosey outsprinting gutsy Will Heffernan. Sam Carroll deserves a mention for pushing the other two all the way to the line
Georgia Whitehouse backed up her great win from the Noosa
Crit at the weekend to take second while Hattie Lowden in only her fourth start scored her first podium.
