10 GRAYDON SEALY SCHOOL CULTURE SCHOOL MOTTO SCHOOL COLOURS The school colours are maroon, green and beige and are represented in the School Crest. SCHOOL CREST “PROMOTE ALL ASPECTS OF OUR GROWTH”

Help me to remember all the time that I am at school that I am preparing myself to be a good citizen of this country, and a good servant of yours; and to that end, help me to discipline my mind to be wise; to train my body to be fit; to equip my life to be useful.

When I am in school, help me to be a good and attentive scholar, and when I am out of school, help me always to behave in such a way that I will always be a credit to the Badge and Colours which I wear.

SCHOOL PRAYER God, bless my school, the head-teacher, the teachers, the scholars and everyone in it. Help us all to work so hard and to play so well, that everyone will respect and admire our school.

11

Hear this, my prayer, for your love’s sake. Amen

Words by Mr. Anthony Hinkson - 1985 Music by Mr. David Christie – 1985

SCHOOL SONG Let pride be the quality that marks our every stride, May honour and morality depart not from our side.

Untiring let us strive for excellence, each one, With God above inspiring us ‘twill be a job well done.

Devote ourselves to study and study with right minds, In all our deeds be lovely, in all our words be kind. Give courage to our staff, to lead us forth, Dear God, promoting with great privilege, All aspects of our growth.

Friendliness and fair play should be in all we do God to prepare us for the day and God to take us through. Within our reach lies the goal that is ours to attain, Ours is the task to breathe bold and bravely take the gain.

THE AFFIRMATION If I believe I will fail, I have failed already; So I will have a positive attitude to everything I do. I will allow my conscience and my sense of right and wrong to guide me. I will not be led astray by the crowd or those who say they are my friends. In all the world, there is no one like me! I am special! I am unique! I am aware of my own potential; And I shall be the best that I can be. Honesty, respect and hard work shall be my hallmark; And as a student, I will bring credit to myself, my school and my country. I will begin NOW As today is the beginning of the rest of my life. NB: This is a Code of Conduct for a successful life as a student of Graydon Sealy Secondary School.
