Aussies win the 10th annual Mongol Derby This year saw the running of the 10th annual Mongol Derby, the longest and toughest horse race in the world, 1000km across the Mongolian steppe. The 2018 race was won by Adrian Corboy from Australia and Annabel Neasham, a 27year-old Brit from Oxfordshire. Annabel is racing manager to Ciaron Maher in Melbourne and Adrian stepped in at the last minute for Ciaron and is one of his work riders and backs horses for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The pair crossed the line at 13.25 on August 15 (Mongolia time) having received no vet penalties at all throughout the race. The HQ reports: "We've seen great horsemanship from both - clear vet cards. At every station AC carries both saddles in giving the horses a break while AN dumps the remains of their hydration packs on their horses to cool them down #mongolderby2018" The pair completed the race in six days and faced typical Mongolian weather - monsoon rain, fog, boiling hot sun, cold one minute, hot the next - as well as a flooded steppe with lots of rivers to cross.

Annabel said on finishing the Mongol Derby, "People say when they finish, they could easily do another 1,000km, well...I think I'm good with this - the longest and toughest horse race in the world”. In 1224, Genghis Khan set up the world’s first long-distance postal transmission system.

Using a massive network of horse stations, his messengers could gallop from his capital Kharkhorin to the Caspian sea in a few days. It’s thought the speed of this communications was one of the great tactical advantages of the Mongol warriors. Riders carrying messages direct-

ly from the Khan would ride non-stop wearing a gergel (metal plates showing the authenticity of the message) on their belts. Messengers would leap onto their new ride at each Urtuu at full tilt. Not even the call of nature or hunger would stop them. The remnants of this horse-wiseweb carried on delivering post and messages right into the 1950’s. It was the nerve system of the largest empire in human history. Genghis Khan’s mighty horse messenger system connected half the planet. For a decade organisers been rebuilding this ancient network to stage the world’s greatest equine adventure race. Riders square up to 1000km of Mongolian steppe on semi-wild horses, changing steed every 40km. They navigate and survive on their own wits and skill, living among the herders. It’s rider and horse against the wild. This is the longest and toughest horse race on earth. This is the Mongol Derby. continued page 5

Endurance ride puts horse and riders to the test From page 4

The Mongolian horses are fearless, wild and unbelievably tough and have changed very little over the centuries. Of the three million horses inhabiting the steppe, the great majority of them live in large semi-feral herds. Surviving temperature extremes from -40°C in winter to +30°C in summer. They mostly eat steppe grass, drink water as they find it and are rarely given any extra nutrition by the herders. The course set for the Mongol Derby is no pony trek or guided tour. There’s no marked course, no packed lunches, no beds to sleep in. That’s the whole point. It’s just the rider, their team of horses and 1000km of Mongolian wilderness. The course consists of 25 horse-stations at 40km intervals (morin urtuu in Mongolian) where riders swap horse and refuel. They change horses at every station and deliver mounts to the next in great health.

Over three million horses inhabit the Mongolian steppe

How riders navigate between them is where the adventure begins. Many months are spent designing and testing the Mongol Derby un-route, making sure it’s right for the horses and that it will deliver the greatest equine adventure in the world – high passes, huge valleys, wooded hills, river crossings, wetland, dunes and of course open steppe. The Mongol Derby is an adventure so organisers want riders to be on their own. All going well, riders will be oblivious to the miracle of

emergency support going on around them. They get a satellite tracker with an emergency button. This shows HQ monitorswhere they are – even if they

haven’t got a clue. There is a large team of incredibly experienced international and Mongolian vets who check each horse before and after competitors ride to ensure it has been well treated. There is an incredible team of medics hiding in the wings ready to swoop in an stick riders back together provided by the marvellous people at Iquarus. The Mongol Derby is no small undertaking with 200 people coming together to build the race for just 40 riders. Turn the manure heap into pasture resource Where there is a horse - there is manure and what to do with it has been a problem since man first yarded the horse. Manure management is also an integral part of a healthy farm but getting it out of the stable and then what to do with it is the problem. Traditionally, the solution is to dump it into the "manure heap" and pretend it's not there or bag it up and try and sell it ‌‌ at a loss! It is well proven that nutrients contained in manure will improve pasture productivity. The effects of manure returning to the pasture will increase growth, cover and quality of forage. Most horse farms whether it be one or two horses or large-scale stud farm with 400 horses have a manure problem that in fact is a resource in disguise. ABI Attachments has made manure management (pasture improvement) accessible and simple to all horse owners with the ABI Classic Spreader. These compact manure spreaders can be loaded straight out of the stable while mucking or direct from the

existing manure heap. The spreaders will pulverize and break up the manure thrashing it out over the pasture. This will expose the broken-up manure pieces to the UV light and kill off any parasite concerns allowing the manure to

quickly break down and return to the soil. This is what farm manager Tony Hall of the well know Wild Oaks spelling and agistment farm had to say about the ABI Spreaders "We originally purchased two ABI Manure Spreaders. After

some weeks it was evident that the spreader was everything it was said to be. Cleaner, faster and the quality of material and build above expectation. So, we bought two more and placed them all around the farm. Hugely successful in time management, stable and pasture management - highly recommend to any farm, big or small. Far better manure management system than the trailer and manure heap." Designed with very simple operation with two levers to operate - one for engagement and one flow rate. The spreaders sizes start small for mower/quad/ATV pull and work up to 40hp tractor pull. For more details you can visit www.abiattachments.com.au or Ph: 1800 609 669

New genetic tests for horses from EquiSeq CAG GmbH – Center for Animal Genetics has signed an agreement with EquiSeq to be the exclusive testing center for the Equine Myopathy Panel in Europe. Horse owners can now test their animals without requiring an invasive blood draw or muscle biopsy. Equine Myopathy Panel tests for mutations in three genes associated with Polysaccharide Storage Myopathy type 2 (PSSM2) and a mutation in one gene associated with Recurrent Exertional Rhabdomyolysis (RER). These mutations have been detected in affected horses of many breeds, including Quarter Horses, Thoroughbreds, Warmbloods, Arabians, Gaited Horses, Draft Horses, and many pony breeds. Affected horses often do not show symptoms until they have already been used for breeding or have had many years of investment in training. Using genetic testing, owners and breeders can identify an affected horse prior to breeding or extensive training for sport. Veterinarians and other horse health professionals can make specific diagnoses and management plans. Although the diseases cannot be cured, a horse's quality of life can be substantially improved with a correct diagnosis and the development of an appropriate management plan. More information about the disease and

tests can be found on the CAG website: www.centerforanimalgenetics.com/pssm2 Samples sent to CAG will be tested in the in-house accredited laboratory. "We are very pleased to be able to offer the Equine Myopathy panel to our customers," Melissa L. Cox, Ph.D., CAG Scientific Lead said. "The diseases collectively known as PSSM2 are difficult to diagnose, because symptoms can vary in severity and age of onset. There are many horses and owners who will benefit from having correct, early diagnoses." EquiSeq's Myopathy Panel, developed by

researchers in New Mexico, USA, is the first commercial offering by the company, which is currently researching additional genetic variants affecting horse health and performance. CAG GmbH is an animal genetics testing and research company specializing in horses, dogs, and cats, located in Tuebingen, Germany. It was founded in 2014 by CeGaT GmbH, a human molecular genetics testing company, and dw Sportpferde, a sport horse breeder. CAG's research program has also identified new mutations responsible for muscle diseases in dogs.

Balanced foal nutrition can be crucial By ANTOINETTE FOSTER Equine Nutritional Therapist, Medical Herbalist ©2018 Our environment affects us and our horses. Over the last 30-45 years, we have seen an increase in pollution (at an alarming rate), deforestation, over use of chemicals and land, depletion of the ozone layer, soil deficiency and a rise in salinity levels. Needless to say our horses are trapped in this ever-increasing problem, just as we are. It is important to feed our foals safely and effectively, neither overfeeding nor underfeeding. There are many conditions associated with malnutrition. Often the word malnutrition is used in the wrong way. Malnutrition can mean overweight or underweight, which means there is a major shortfall in the supply of nutrients to the body. Limb deformities are quite common in foals, these can be due to the position of the foetus in the uterus, and generally in this case the foal’s limbs straighten after a few days and further treatment is not required. Flexural deformity occurs mostly in the forelimbs in one or both legs and most commonly in well-grown yearlings. The fetlock and pastern joints become more upright and the fetlock starts to knuckle over. Angular limb deformity can be caused by a combination of trauma and nutritional imbalances. This means perhaps lunging of foals and yearlings, placing uneven and unnatural pressure on their limbs, long before they are fully matured, this can place pressure on one side of the Physis or growth plate causing one side to grow faster than the other. Through research we have discovered that Developmental Orthopaedic Disease (DOD) which includes OCD (Osteochondrosis),

Correct nutrition means supplying your mare and foal with the right amount of water, protein, fibre, fat, minerals, carbohydrates and vitamins Cervical Vertebral malformation, Angular deformities, Contracted Tendons and Physitis (formally known as Ephyphisitis), can be caused by many factors, such as genetic predisposition, management practises, disease and dietary influence. It is therefore very wise to seek professional advice before jumping onto any single D.O.D. bandwagon. OCD (impaired blood supply to cartilage delays conversion of cartilage to bone resulting in abnormal thick cartilage or joint surfaces, the cartilage is therefore only loosely

attached to underlying bone and may become detached causing inflammation within joint) occurs particularly in young rapid growing individuals, accelerating a horse’s growth by overfeeding may increase the risk of OLD. Generally the stifle and hock joints are effected and clinical signs of the disease usually become obvious in the first two years of growth. So in the case of OCD correct feeding will probably prevent this disease. continued page 15

Ensure a balanced diet for mare and foal from page 14

Weanlings require almost twice the amount of protein than that of a mature horse. Correct nutrition means supplying your foal with right amount of water, protein, fibre, fat, minerals, carbohydrates and vitamins, a shortfall of any of these nutrients could lead to illness. Nutrients provide replacement molecules, provide energy and allow for growth. The foal’s survival depends on the survival of cells. Approximately 70% of the body is water, it is vital, as it is involved in digestion, regulating body temperature, lubrication and metabolism. Water must be readily available. It is important to allow fresh clean water on a daily basis. Sufficient amounts of carbohydrates must be supplied to allow for normal growth rate, athletic ability and resistance to disease. Proteins, (chains of amino acids) are vital for the foal’s growth also and the 12 essential amino acids must be supplied by the diet. A deficiency of protein can cause a decrease in food intake, and the condition of the coat may be affected. On the other hand, feeding too much protein will mean the excess protein will be utilised as an energy source far less efficiently than carbohydrates or fat. Minerals and trace elements are also vital for growth and protection, as are vitamins. Feeding your foal is not very complicated, but it is important to remember that every foal

Feeding your foal is not complicated, just supply good pasture, clean water and adequate nutrients.

and horse is different and they cannot be fed in the same way. Because individuality plays a big role in deciding what you will feed your foal, I do not agree with RDA recommendations, but, like many clinical biochemists and naturopaths, I agree with Optimal Daily Allowances. This makes far more sense, when you consider that we as humans do not all require the same nutrient intake, we are all individuals and so are horses. Supplements such as BreedPlus and GrowthFix are highly recommended for you foals and young growing horses. Feeds such as the Johinson’s Natural Formula Mare and Foal offers a perfectly balanced diet with the inclusion of hays and supplements, easy to feed and very cost effective.

happening but fundamentally there appear to be two primary types. Pituitary gland dysfunction is very common, particularly in ponies with incidence increasing with age but we are finding more and more general population horses, and younger horses, affected. In this disease, excess ACTH is secreted by the pituitary, affecting the adrenal gland, cortisone, and carbohydrate metabolism dysfunction, ultimately resulting in higher blood insulin. The disease is actually a form of very slow growing "tumour like adenoma" in the pituitary gland. The second type is known as Equine Metabolic Syndrome which fundamentally is a form of insulin resistance, (similar to Type 2 Diabetes in humans), where the cells become resistant to insulin driving glucose in to power the cells, they signal for more glucose and the body stimulates more and more insulin production leading to excessively high blood insulin levels. A very common cause is sudden consumption of very fresh young green pasture as often happens coming out of winter and after rain. This fresh grass has very high levels of carbohydrate, which is absorbed into the blood from the gut and stimulates a massive insulin release attempting to

The past 20 years has seen an exponential increase in the incidence of "Metabolic Laminitis", sometimes referred to as "Fat Pony Founder". (This is possibly an unfair and a little nasty, euphemism as there are many factors involved in the pathway to this syndrome, but undoubtedly being in prime body condition is a major predisposition). Thirty years ago, the greatest number of foundered horses were the "Gut Founder" type associated with consumption of large amounts of grain. Nowadays, with the almost universal feeding of processed feeds and pellets, we now see metabolic laminitis. Certainly there is no evidence based proof of any correlation, but one would have to think there could be come relationship. Metabolic founder is basically an anomaly of insulin function and invariably those horses affected seem to have high blood insulin. This insulin circulates into the laminae of the feet and basically causes the inflammation or laminitis. There is an enormous amount of research that has been done, and

remove the sugar from the blood, but any sudden "change" in diet, stress, or management can trigger. These metabolic founders are usually not as devastatingly catastrophic as the old basement membrane gut overload disease. They are usually insidious with horses often suffering repeated re-occurences of laminitis, each causing more damage and measurable symptoms such as rotation occurs over time. Understanding what is happening to cause the problem is always critical in attempting to diagnose and manage laminitis. Diagnosis depends on collection and assessment of clinical signs, but most obviously, the horse is lame. As laminitis usually affects all four feet, sometimes the lameness can be a little difficult to pick as the horse is not particularly favouring one leg or the other. Astute riders and managers invariably know "there is something not right with the horse", and this is a very common first inclination. Almost universally there is an increased pulse to the feet and this should be assessed. I do not find "heat" to be a reliable indicator, but hoof tester pain across the sole in the area of the pedal bone in all feet, is almost diagnostic. continued page 19

Diagnosis, monitoring progress and routine are key  from page 18 Obviously the body type of the horse and the use and management are important signs as the problem rarely occurs in leaner dry grass fed paddock horses Refinement of the diagnosis and assessment of the horse includes blood tests and x-rays. Blood tests are very important and relatively easy, although expensive, where we measure levels of insulin and ACTH in the blood. These tests are important both in the initial diagnosis and in the monitoring of progress of the horse as they give an assessment of what factors may be at play in the development of the problem. Radiographs of the feet are always critical. In the very early stages of a first attack, there may be very few changes, but it is surprising how many so called "new" cases we find, that have evidence of previous bouts of laminitis. Often changes can be relatively minor, but progressive over time. The radiographs give a very good indication of prognosis and severity of the condition, but they are also essential for shoeing as ultimately, some form of foot protection is usually the most important part of treatment.

It’s important to get a vet to assess of the horse suspected of having laminitis, diagnosis includes blood tests and x-rays then you can make an informed decision on treatment. The program covers communication skills, body language, emotional regulation and personality education all being taught through professional horsemanship groundskills in small groups , not unlike mini horsemanship clinics! It is not Equine Therapy, it is a Lifeskills program to help prepare young people transition to a positive future. All students attend with their own case worker or counsellor, it is designed to open doors of communication for all those involved with the young people attending. Workbooks are provided to case workers so they can reinforce the techniques taught through the courses. Licensees all receive extensive training with Sue Spence and must have a high level of natural horsemanship ground skills, excellent communication skills and ideal facilities to present the program for their local communities. Media launches with each opening are also provided with many Youth Services booking as soon a new center opens. Licensees become an important well respected role model in their communities liaising with all youth and family services. The countdown is on for Polocrosse Nationals The Australian National Polocrosse Championships will run throughout the first week of October this year. The Perth Polocrosse Club will be hosting within the grounds of the State Equestrian Centre, setting a perfect backdrop for the lively event as teams from across the country meet to compete. Polocrosse is a truly unique Australian sport that is a spectacle of thundering hooves, clashing racquets and elite athleticism. This year marks 50 years of the even and the Golden Jubilee is expected to be the biggest and best championship in the sport’s history. Players and their horses will make the pilgrimage from every corner of Australia. To be part of the championships, people will have to travel but the value of venturing to Western Australia’s Swan Valley will be worth it. It is estimated that more than 400 of the best polocrosse players will travel from all states of Australia, bringing along roughly 600 of their equine teammates to participate in the most significant event on the sport’s calendar. Players at the championship level display horsemanship that combines the athleticism of polo and the coordination of lacrosse into an action-packed game of skill, teamwork, and endurance. The Nationals will be one of the biggest equine events the local community has ever seen. It will also be a must-see attraction for tourists visiting the state during the week, the perfect spectator sport for all ages. Stay up to date with details of the championships including the live countdown at https://www.polox2018.com.au/home

The Horse Report

Five guidelines for handling foals By TANJA KRAUS Set boundaries early - no bum scratching, demanding, pushing horses! The same boundaries apply to the foal as to the older horse, you don't need to bash them, and be 'on their case' every minute of the day, but don't forgive everything 'because they are a baby' either! Find a good balance in preserving the curiosity and setting boundaries that will serve your horse for life. Keep it simple. I absolutely have no issue with doing some training with foals, but remember to keep it simple! Initially, with foals, I stick to basic concepts - move to pressure, confidence building, trust. Then I begin to teach the basics of handling - picking up feet, leading, trailer loading, that kind of thing. Keep it short - Only a few minutes per session, you will be surprised at how quickly they learn and pick things up! Foals have a really short attention span, and really busy days between sleeping, eating, or just seeing stimuli from elsewhere, keep it short so they want to remain focused on you, and are disappointed when you leave. This may sound strange but I

Foals and horses learn a pattern of behavior, so remember to set boundaries early they learn and pick things up quickly want to leave my foal always 'wanting more'. This way, each time I come into the yard, he is excited to see me - not running in the other direction! Keep it practical. I always think of the chance that my foals may need to be handled for veterinary reasons, or perhaps transported in

an emergency, so confidence in the trailer and confidence being handled/having people touch them is vital, as early as possible. Bearing in mind the 'keep it short' rule, we don't want to overwhelm the foal, but I also like to get them ok about humans and the trailer pretty early on.

You terminate contact. Meaning, you never let your foal walk away from you. My horse is learning a pattern of behavior every time I am with him - this means if I teach my foal that its ok to walk away from me when he has had enough, its ok for him to walk away from me when I want to catch him. Set the idea early that you instigate contact, and you terminate it too - don't ever let your horse walk away from you - foal or adult! Keep It Positive. Sometimes you may have to set a boundary for your baby horse, and not every moment of every session will be all smiles and sunshine, but having a focus on keeping it positive, will develop a curiosity and stimulation in your horse, which will create a desire to learn and be with humans. The more positive interactions your baby horse has, the better horse he will be. These guidelines will help develop your horse into a citizen to handle and ride - they say that one of the best things you can do for your horse is to set him up as a citizen for life, he will have a better future for it. This starts when they are babies. Wishing everyone a happy and successful breeding season

We've also helped many horse owners to provide better care for their horses by providing educational resources and supporting educational events. Sadly we turn away many more horses than we can adequately care for (due to limited funds & carers) and as a result we have chosen to take a different approach (i.e. education) to address this unfortunate situation. From humble beginnings in 2016 the inaugural EAQ Horse Care Workshop was held in Samford Farmers Hall with a small but enthusiastic group of presenters & stallholders and was attended by around 130 guests. Due to it's resounding success the "Workshop" has developed into the more comprehensive "Expo" which is held annually at the larger RDA facility at Samford Showgrounds. This years Expo will run from 9.00am - 4.00pm incorporating an extensive range of expert guest presentations, live demos, around 50 trade stalls, a fashion parade, carriage rides, children's activities and food & drinks. It is our vision that this sharing of information will encourage better welfare for horses in the future. As an added bonus some of the RDA horses will benefit by receiving complimentary services/treatments during the live demonstrations. The event is FREE for attendees, includes FREE show-bags for the first 100 guests to arrive (NB: 1 per family) and there will be lots of give-aways and raffle prizes drawn throughout the day. Attendees who register through Eventbrite https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/free-eaq-horse-care-expo-tickets47661596117 will automatically be entered into a unique prize draw however pre-registration is not compulsory so come and join us for what will be an incredible, equine focussed experience. For further information please contact our Event Co-ordinator Melissa Hanwright email: event@eaq.org.au or ph: 0418 439 924

News on Technyflex sponsored riders TECHNYFLEX is pleased to announce its sponsorship of three new riders - Nathan Harvey, Emily Cuthbert and Dylan Porter. Nathan, 32, from North Maclean in Queensland is autistic and almost blind. He has recently been selected to ride in next year's Special Olympics. At the 2018 Special Olympics, held in Adelaide, Nathan had won gold, silver and bronze medals. Later this year he received a letter of acceptance to be an official member of the Australian equestrian team and will be competing in Abu Dhabi in March. "I'm going to give it all I've got," he said. At these Special Olympics he will be riding borrowed horses in both dressage and jumping events. He actively encourages others with disabilities to get out and compete. "More and more people with similar challenges are now coming out and doing this. In the past they stayed at home but we're now out there following our dreams." In June Emily Cuthbert, 17, from Kialla, Victoria rode at the International 3 Day Event held in Werribee. It was the largest event she'd ever competed at, leaving her thrilled to have secured second place in the CCIJ. ''I was just expecting to get around and I was so happy with the result,'' she said. It was the culmination of many months of work for Emily and her 16-year-old horse Kirby Park Irish Tom. ''I compete nearly every weekend when the season's on so as to qualify for events like this. "I've been with horses ever since I could walk. When I was tiny I began on ponies and have been riding ever since. "I'd like to take the opportunity to thank TECHNYFLEX for its sponsorship."

'Richie' I've had for about 2 years. I got him when he was competing around 90cm and is now jumping 120cm rounds with me. I've goals of hopefully bringing him up to jump Young Riders in the future. "Some of my upcoming events are Noosa and Kenilworth Shows, and Queensland Indoor State Jumping. "I would like to thank TECHNYFLEX for this amazing opportunity."

Nathan and 'Dom', his 14-year-old Trakehner stallion, who is now benefitting from Technyflex premium joint supplement Dylan Porter of Carter's Ridge is a promising 15-year-old show jumper who attends Noosa District State High School. Last year he moved with his family from South Australia to Queensland. He has enjoyed success in junior and open classes at local shows and pony club events and is a member of Sunshine Coast SJC and Nambour District PC. His mentors are Paul and Billy Raymont (Billy has just been selected as part of the Australian team to jump at the World Equestrian Games in North Carolina). "My current horses are two thoroughbred geldings 'Mafia' and 'Cheque It Out' (known around the stable as 'Richie'). I've owned 'Mafia' for nearly 4 years and have gone from competing 60cm to 120cm.

Emily and Kirby Park Irish Tom Page 38

Dylan and Mafia TECHNYFLEX would like to wish all the very best to its sponsored dressage rider Brett Parbery who will shortly be riding at the World Equestrian Games. He and home-bred DP Weltmeiser, owned by Susan Duddy, are part of the Australian Dressage team competing at Tryon, North Carolina. Brett has been riding 'Rabbit' since he was five. The gelding, now 16, was given the nickname by his breeders. When he was due to be born they went looking in the paddock and saw two ears poking up out of the grass which resembled a rabbit. "He's been called that ever since, said Brett, who has been staying with Dan James, part of the Double Dan Horsemanship duo, in Midway, Kentucky. James will also be competing at the Games as part of Australia's reining team. TECHNYFLEX wishes them safe travels and every success.

The Horse Report Three-year licensing for racing trainers gets the go-ahead Queensland's thoroughbred, harness and greyhound trainers are set to benefit from an improved licensing system which will deliver three-year licensing and online licence renewal. Racing Minister Stirling Hinchliffe said the changes from the previous annual licensing system were a win for Queensland trainers. "Instead of renewing their licenses each year, Queensland trainers will hold a licence for a period of three years before they're required to renew," he said. "In addition to this extended licence period, thoroughbred trainer licence categories have been simplified to assist in the licensing and renewal process. "These are sensible changes that will reduce the administrative burden for Queensland trainers without sacrificing the integrity of the licence system." Queensland Racing Integrity Commissioner Ross Barnett said the changes were being implemented after a consulta-

tion with the industry and a year-long trial of three-year licensing for stable hands and kennel attendants. "The consultation period resulted in mostly positive feedback from trainers who told us they're happy the administrative burden of licensing would be reduced by this change," he said. "Three-year licensing just makes sense and will make the

licensing process and renewal easier for trainers. "It means trainers will spend less time filling out forms, and

it will free up QRIC resources to give staff more time to deliver other services to our clients." Relevant racing participants will receive information about the changes via email and will be able to follow the link to the relevant online portal on the QRIC website to make their payments when they are due. The new three-year licence changes for all trainers are being implemented from the current licence renewal period. Thoroughbred, Harness and Greyhound trainers are encouraged to visit the QRIC website. For further licensing and registration information www.qric.com.au or phone 1300 087 021.

Billie is the sweetest man you could ever want to own and the quietest horse you could have anything to do with. He always strives to put his best foot forward and to be the most honest working horse for you. He would suit a child wanting to step up to a bigger horse to excel in either showing or pony club. Would also suit a nervous adult wanting to show or wanting to return to the saddle. Billie is qualified for all Royal shows for 2019. Having placed at royal level previously. Just some of her recent performances include:- 2nd Ladies Galloway Toowoomba Royal 2017 and multiple Novice Hack Championships Hemi is an amazing type and temperament for her age. She has all basics established including lengthen trot and simple changes. Hemi has competed at ag shows and dressage extensively in her short career having newcomers last year. Multiple wins to date and in dressage scores above 65% in preliminary. Hemi is very quiet out and has no vices. She is easy to shoe, rug, clip, worm, float. She is an easy traveller and has competed as far as Sth Qld. Hemi has only had one owner and is for sale as owner is currently studying full time and working full time. She would be an asset to any home and will go to the top. Hemi, under guidance, would suit a confident child coming off a pony. Slightly negotiable to the right home. Email for footage.

He can be ridden down the road and is not worried about traffic, he can be tied to the float at shows and is very easy to prepare including, clipping up, washing and show prepping. Lego has also been learning to jump. Lego is for sale as his little rider prefers to jump and has an older jumping pony to ride. Lego would suit a show pony, pony club or all-rounder for a child. Lego would suit as a second pony for a little rider. More photos and video available.
