Fastest Qualifier Delivers in Hoosier Park Classic Final Story by Emily Gaskin, Hoosier Park Fillemup Phil turned in another dominating performance and remained unbeaten in three starts to win the $100,000 Hoosier Park Class Final on Oct. 13 at Hoosier Park Racing & Casino. The brown gelding by Brookstone Bay set the fastest qualifying time of :20.122 for 400 yards in the trials on Sep. 28 and posted a clocking of :20.292 to win by a length in the final and notch his fifth win over Hoosier Park’s surface. Ridden by Oscar Delgado for trainer Danny Lang, Fillemup Phil broke a step behind Lovemelikethat and Shanley Jackson, but the five-year-old gelding quickly found another gear en route to the wire. Fillemup Phil sustained a late closing charge from the heavy betting favorite, Lovemelikethat and Shanley Jackson who finished a game second. Air Born Leader and Garardo Garrido, also a trial winner, overcame being bumped at the start to finish third. Fillemup Phil didn’t disappoint as the bettors’ choice as he returned $6.40 for the win.
“He broke hard,” Delgado noted of his mount. “Everyone got a clean break but he is a big horse so he may have been a step behind some of them. The last 100 yards he was just running away from them, he just kept getting stronger and stronger as we went on. He was on his game today.” Bred in Indiana by Guy Trolinger, Fillemup Phil notched his fifth victory in eight starts this season while bankrolling over $100,000. In his last Hoosier Park outing, Fillemup Phil won an allowance event on Sept. 8 with Delgado in the irons, once again. Out of the Premiership mare, Miss Reminice, the brown gelding is owned by Brian Gunder. “This is just a nice horse,”winning trainer Danny Lang noted. “He likes a lot of attention and a lot of care. Brian (Gunder) gave me a great opportunity to train this horse and he’s been racing really great for us.” The Hoosier Park Classic Final was just one of the ten Quarter Horse races offered on the afternoon card. Tagged as Wild West Days, the all Quarter Horse card featured Wild West themed activities, giveaways, and fun for racing fans.
Heza Door Prize Drives To Sterlie Bertram Memorial Win
y© helle s by S Photo
Story by stallionesearch.com The lightly raced Heza Door Prize scored his second win in three career starts Saturday afternoon as he caught Successful Dash and Dezenzo to win by a neck in the $111,100 Sterlie Bertram Memorial Stakes at Hoosier Park. Under jockey Cesar Carrilo the 3-year-old son of First Prize Perry completed the 350 yard course into a 10 mph headwind in :18.190 seconds. The $61,105 winner’s purse swelled his career bank account to nearly $65,000. After finishing fourth in his only start at 2, the Jorge Gonzalez trainee set the fastest qualifying time in his first start this season on September 29. Alberto Valdez owns the sorrel gelding out of the Heza Fast Man mare Rectitude. Heath Taylor is the breeder.
Page 3
Randy Thompson’s Successful Dash was a game second, earning $22,220. Thomas Mosley, Jr. trains the Cartel Success gelding out of the Dash For Cash mare Rita Anns Dash. The $22,220 place check boosted his career total to $92,473. Gerardo Garrido rode the Bill Price bred 3-year-old who came into the race off three straight wins. Randy Smith’s owned-and-trained Dezenzo led earlier but had to settle for the show check of $11,110. Diana Moster bred the Ivory James gelding out of Hooked On Laveaux, by First Down Laveaux. Olivo Victor was aboard the earner of $47,248. Completing the field were Will You Perry Me, Dancing With Ducks, Princess Royal Blew, Its Chilly, Shak Em Down Stoney and Chilled Patrona.
LETTER FROM THE EDITOR Not much room for many words from me this month so I’ll make it short and sweet. I hope you all are enjoying the turn of the season. I also wish all of you a very blessed Thanksgiving and hope you get to spend it with those you love. This issue is dedicated to the memory of a little girl who touched many lives in her short time here. Chalee Gilliland passed away in September and we want to send our condolences to her family. We hope the tribute to her memory brings a smile to those who knew her and a reminder to all of us to hug the ones we love and treasure each moment as a blessing. Rest In Peace, Chalee. This issue also includes the Indiana NBHA State SHow story as well as the coverage from Quarter Horse Day at Hoosier Park. We hope you enjoy those stories as well as our latest from Bella. Until next month.........what are you thankful for? Remember to count your blessings on horseback! God Bless and Ride Safe, Christa Conway

Magnetic Therapy
awheeler04 Hey everyone, I have some questions about magnetic therapy products. I was wondering who all uses them, and if they really work. I have Northfield’s Hock wraps which seemed to help my mare, or it could have been our long work outs getting her feeling good again. I have heard a lot of good things about them from people who use the products, but I have also heard from other people that they don’t work and is a waste of money. I would just like opinions on them before I go out and buy more. Also what brands work the best? I know PHT is a good brand but can’t reallyth afford eir products right now, esp since I am saving up for world finals. runsupport Veteran Posts: 159 Location: Montana My 2yo is a magnet, no pun intended, for leg swelling injuries:) I purchased the Flex Rider Rare Earth Magnetic shin boots as they were cost effective. I have used them serveral time and love the results. bananers I love all my magnets- I have the blanket, knee, hock and tendon ones. Especially when you are hauling the blanket keeps them from getting stiff in the trailer and I can tell a difference after putting the hock boots on my gelding. I have the norfields and the Equi-mag and they both work great! Lovin Life I have PHT 3-in-1 that I use on hocks. Can’t say I notice a huge difference from using them, but he’s a big gelding that strained a muscle early last summer so it’s more preventative hoping he doesn’t get sore. I will say that you should go to the PHT website and read what they have about the different magnet types and the effects they may have. I think sometimes cheaper isn’t better esp. if you aren’t fully educated about how magnets work. Also, I’ve a lot of good things about Back on Track products (which are not magnet) but have not used them personally I just know they are more affordable. jd&ez Elite Veteran Posts: 1105 Location: Ky The only place where magnets remove anything is money from your wallet. CYA Ranch Posts: 10253 Location: South Dakota I love all my PHT magnets and YES I think they work. My horses feel and perform better. They usually have Black Friday sales and that’s coming up soon! http://www.phtmagnetics.com/ carhartthoney4x4 Valley Girl Posts: 6628 Location: Willamette Valley, OR I saw actual results from using pastern wraps a few years ago on a mare who would stock up. Using them every 2-3 days on her would keep her legs from swelling at all, and she had no stiffness! I have a couple other magnetic items but not ones that i could actually see results with

BleuIdGrl Elite Veteran Posts: 737 Location: Where ever there’s sunshine! I have a dura tech sheet, a full set of boots and no bows with magnets. I see a huge difference in my mare when I use my magnets on her. They keep her legs from becoming puffy when she’s stalled up. With her sheet and boots she active and moving around like a youngster. Without them she just stands around like an old lady. I fully believe they work and absolutely love how they make her feel thetaylorsranch Don’t Ask Me Posts: 3817 I have comlete back on track set for my horses (which is not magnetic) I also have duratech magnetic sheets..and pht poll packs. I use the bot as a preventative plus my chiro has been here less-- so I know something is working..I can see a big difference in my hubbys gelding more then my young horse.. especially with the pht poll pack and the bot hock wraps. I wouldnt have gone that far in debt if I thought they didnt work-- we bought the tshirt to try first-- first night I wore it I knew it worked for me-- so then I purchased other products.. they have a 30 day guar.for both products..or they are very easy to resell .. jtd Elite Veteran Posts: 706 I have to disagree jd&ez, this may not be horse related but I do have a story about magnets ;) My son who is 33 and a quadro-parapalegic has had a magnet blanket for the better part of 20 years, and has never had a bed sore. So if anyone believes in Magnetic Therapy I do! jd&ez That’s good but it didn’t happen because of the magnets. There is not one scientific study ever done by independents that back up the claims of the magnet sellers. Not one, not ever. In humans or in equine or in any other living creature. I know a guy that swears his magnetic bracelet cures his arthritis. That doesn’t make it so. But, they are not illegal so if it makes him feel better, so be it. It’s certainly not hurting him. It’s just the latest thing to sell. I have one of those electric shock things that Evil Kineval{sp} promoted to alleve back and neck pain. Used it too and thought it helped. There is a class action lawsuit against that now. 100 years ago they bled people as a cure. 100 years from now people will back on the magnet craze just as we look at the bleeding stuff. Fancie_That_Chrome_ Extreme Veteran Posts: 387 Location: One Hot Place, AZ Interesting perspective. jd&ez Look, I’ve been a sucker many times in my life for the latest gadget, cure, system or whatever. Somehow I avoided the magnet craze. I wish they were what they say. I showed contest horses for over 40 years. I would have loved for magnets to have been the deal for many of my horses.I have a friend that invested
a small fortune into the magents for his horse. I think he had everything but a magnetic saddle. He reinvested again when he was told he didn’t have the proper polarity. You could probably pick it all up on the cheap from him now. jtd I agree with you on the fact there is no scientific data to back it up. But I really give the magnets credit for my sons skin condition. However, 2 weeks ago the Medical community just verified that accupuncture is a medical treatment. (which is also hundreds of years old) So hey, ya never know when the break throu comes in for Magnetic Therapy :) (BTW I enjoy your posts on the political threads, they make me laugh) jd&ez And there is scientific evidence that acuupunture works. That’s why it’s approved to be reimbursed now. There have been scientific studies done on magnet therapy. They have never been able to verify the claims made the sellers. They have found that they won’t hurt you. As for the polictics I really just play with that now. I have been involved in politics pretty much all my life. I even went over to the democrat convention in 1972 when I was 15 years old and living in Coral gables, Fl for a short time. I will talk politics all day with someone in person. I really don’t care to discuss it on the internet. Too much is lost in the typed word. Whiskey_Girl My lower back is in muscle spasms right now, has been for a couple days. I went down to the trailer and now I’m sitting here on the couch with my horses tendon wraps tucked into my pants. I can literally feel my back releasing. PHT all the way. fulltiltfilly Posts: 1387 Location: Jersey Girl I have the PHT hock boots. When I used them regularly they helped increase the length of time in between injections. run n rate Posts: 8364 Location: 31 lengths farms I was skeptical of magnets, but after my gelding injured his suspensory and me not having the money to do IRAP and all the other recommended therapies I bought him a pair of boots. He had been off and swollen for over 5 weeks, getting a little better but not at a rate that made me excited enough, LOL!! Bought the boots, put them on him while he ate twice a day and within the week he was trotting in a straight line with no limp. I ended up back on him by the end of the summer and showing him down the fence in reined cow horse classes in October. He was injured the end of May and I was told I’d be off of him for a good 6-8 months and handwalking only for awhile. barn goddess Extreme Veteran Posts: 503 Love the magnets and Back On Track products

News Florida QHRA Set For Hialeah Park Meet, scheduled to open December 15. For Immediate Release October 12, 2012: The Florida Quarter Horse Racing Association and Hialeah Park have set the schedule for the 2012-13 American Quarter Horse meet at the historic track in Hallandale, near Miami. The meet – Hialeah’s fourth since 2009 – will have 30 days of Quarter Horse racing, with eight races on each of three days of racing for 10 weeks and purses averaging $120,000 per day. The barns open December 1 and the meet begins December 15. The meet marks Hialeah’s first major stakes restricted to accredited Florida-breds, the $30,000-added Sunshine State Derby for foals of 2010. The Sunshine State Derby will be February 16, 2013, with trials January 25. In 2015, the track will conduct the $200,000-guaranteed Sunshine State Futurity for accredited Florida-bred foals of 2013. There are three $100,000-added stakes and one $50,000 stakes this December. In addition to the Sunshine Derby, Hialeah in February will have a $100,000-added stakes and the $75,000-guaranteed Hialeah Invitational Championship. As in previous seasons, there also will be multiple overnight stakes. For owners and breeders at the upcoming meet, accredited Floridabreds will earn 20 percent more purse money than open horses, and 50 percent of the races will be accredited Florida-breds preferred. FQHRA was organized in 2005. According to the organization’s agreement with Hialeah, the meets in 2013-14, 2014-15 and 2015-16 each will comprise 40 days of racing over 10 weeks, with purses of $140,000 per day. According to track owner and general manager John Brunetti, Hialeah’s casinos should be in operation by June 2013. “We want people to know that Hialeah is right on track where it’s supposed to be,” said FQHRA President Dr. Steve Fisch, who owns AVS Equine Hospital in Tallahassee. “Purses are going up next year. We’ve got this year and three more years of the contract after this year.” Dr. Fisch also addressed the drug scandals that have rocked the industry in recent months. Florida is being proactive in its policies on the abuse of unauthorized medications, he said. Florida DBPR/Department of Pari-Mutuel Wagering has stated that they have directed the University of Florida drug lab to test for dermorphine, Zilpaterol, Ractopamine and clenbuterol and a host of other medications and drugs. They have directed that clenbuterol levels be tested to at least 1-2 pcg/ml of blood. A horse on clenbuterol must be pulled off the medication at least 21 days to meet these testing levels. All other medications and drugs will be tested and penalized at least as severe as ARCI guidelines. Hialeah is using the state of Florida’s clenbuterol testing levels and the ARCI drug guidelines in their 2012/2013 house rules. “AQHA and FQHRA, as the AQHA racing affiliate for Florida, stand behind the Hialeah house rules and the state of Florida DBPR rules,” Dr. Fisch said. “Florida is a ‘Just say no to drugs’ state. We have had many trainers and owners call and say they are glad Florida is a state that has strict drug and medication laws and rules. Stricter medication rules are causing a shakeup in the industry, but that shakeup and added regulations were caused by people abusing the system. In the short run and long run, the states that are adopting strict medication rules and
Page 12
laws and then actually sticking with them will help keep horse racing safe and healthy both for the horses and people associated with them. The health and welfare of the horse should always be uppermost in everyone’s mind as we care and race these magnificent animals. “We look forward to seeing the owners and trainers who have raced at Hialeah since the inaugural 2009 meet and we look forward to many new faces who say they are coming because the racing will be fair and safe,” he concluded. “FQHRA commends AQHA on its recent tough stance on medication and drug abuse. If you haven’t made plans to come to Hialeah for the upcoming meet, please check out our website www.fqhra.com. There is still time to enter the major stakes races without a big penalty. The next payment date is Monday, October 15. There should be plenty of racing opportunities for all the horses that come this year.”

News IFR43 Two Event Cowgirl, Kasi Prather By: Tammie Hiatt Kasi Prather etched her name in IFR history when she was part of the “first fifteen” breakaway ropers to compete at IFR42. The Ochelata, OK cowgirl showed her skills by laying claim to two IFR go-round buckles when she roped her second round calf in 2.3 seconds and followed up in the third round with a 2.4 second run. Fast forward to the 2012 IPRA rodeo season and a glance at the world standings shows Prather anchored solidly in the number three seat in the breakaway roping and eleventh in the barrel racing. Kasi joins Taylor Smith of Benton, KY as the only two ladies to be competing in two IFR events.

“I did not anticipate that I would be making the IFR in two events,” said Kasi. “I was so excited when the IPRA added the breakaway roping, I figured that was the only chance I had of making the IFR. I wanted to do well in the breakaway again this year and just work on getting my barrel horse back in shape and running him a little. So far this year, I have entered him at 12 rodeos and he has won $8,400. I never dreamed that would happen.”
“His registered name is Rodeo’s Poker Chip or Chippy. He’s out of Badgers Rodeo Red, a stud that we own. We ran barrels, poles, and roped off of him. He has a great temperament. Chippy’s mother was a thoroughbred mare that had been on the track but she didn’t win anything. We liked her breeding and bought her to add to our broodmares, she was just an ugly brown mare. We have a filly out of her that is a full sister to Chippy that I am excited about. “ “I have trouble deciding which event I like the best, I like them equally, really. The barrel racing is my personal accomplishment. I raised him and trained him. I get more of an adrenaline rush from running barrels. I started roping when I was just a little girl. My mom said I needed more to keep my attention,” laughs Kasi. “Neither of my parents roped. My mom Sherry Lucas ran barrels but my dad, Tim Prather never rodeoed. “ “At the IFR, I’ll be roping on Elvis. Walt and I bought him last year, he’s 18-years-old and rock solid. He runs across the line and doesn’t get short, he stays free and gives me the same shot every time.” Kasi not only multi-tasks in the rodeo arena, she and her mother own the Circle L Arena in Ochelata. “My grandfather Raymond Lucas, built the indoor arena in 1993. It started out to be just big enough to lope circles in. He kept adding on to it and now it’s a big facility that hosts several winter series’. In November we will start having barrel races, team roping’s and calf roping’s.” “My grandfather also created the Groundhog arena groomers. He had closed down his metal shop after breaking his back. He had went to the AQHA World Show and seen some of the other arena groomers on the market. He went home and started messing with his idea and came up with the Groundhog. Lucas Metal Works has turned into a huge business that my brother, J.R. Prather now runs,” explains Kasi. Kasi has also added to her entrepreneur portfolio by owning the H & R Block office in Skiatook, Ok. “From January to April, I’m busy figuring taxes,” she said. Her toddler daughter, Karsyn also keeps life exciting for Kasi and Walt. “It’s interesting rodeoing with a toddler, for sure,” said Kasi. “She loves to ride and has her own pony. I love to watch her interact with the people at the rodeos. She loves going.”
“I knew he was a nice horse, but I didn’t know how good he was,” Kasi said. “I actually raised him and started riding him as a 2-year-old and patterned him. I took him to some futurities and then he was turned out a year while I was pregnant. I got him up this spring and got him in shape and started entering him to see what would happen.” “Pryor, OK’s rodeo was the first rodeo I entered him at this year. He was

so fat, but we were just out of placing, so that convinced me to stay with it and see how we would do,” commented Kasi.
Looking back at the 2012 rodeo season, Prather has no trouble recalling her best experience, “St Tite! I won the second go and third in the short go and set an arena record. I was so proud of my horse. He’s only a six-year-old and he handled the huge crowds like a veteran. It was an awesome experience. I’m ready for the IFR!” To follow Kasi Prather and the other IFR contestants or to get information on the IPRA go to www.ipra-rodeo.com for more information.

News another discipline such as trail riding, equestrian sports, backyard pleasure or even therapeutic use. The program saves many horses from an uncertain future while simultaneously teaching the offenders compassion, responsibility and marketable skills they can use after their release to become contributing members of society. In addition to cleaning stalls, feeding and bonding with the horses, offenders receive classroom instruction on Farrier Science, nutrition, equine law and business. Barbara Holcomb, the equine instructor at the facility, believes the program changes lives – the horses’ and the inmates’.“It is so great to have the support of the IHFC and many of the horse people around the state! Every penny that is taken in by TRF goes to the care and well-being of these exracers, who more than likely would have ended up a less than favorable fate,” said Holcomb, thanking IHCF for the grant. TRF, a non-profit organization, receives no funding from the state for the equestrian program at the Putnamville Correctional Facility. It is the only equestrian program for prisoners in Indiana. To donate or inquire about adoptions contact the Putnamville Correctional Facility or call Barbara Holcomb at (765) 653-8441, ext. 342. Dedicated to protecting and promoting the interests of equines in Indiana, the IHCF awarded the $2,500 grant to support TRF’s vital work on 2nd careers, adoption and rehabilitation for racehorses. The nonprofit IHCF created the Racing Legacy Fund with financial support from the Indiana Horsemen’s Benevolent & Protective Association and the Indiana Standardbred Association to protect the interests of Indiana racehorses in all stages of their careers. Racing Legacy Fund grants are offered to eligible applicants for programs promoting the welfare and safety of racehorses, providing adoption or retirement opportunities for racehorses, retraining racehorses for second careers, assisting organizations dedicated to the use of retired horses in equine therapy for human rehabilitation, and encouraging participation or involvement in the ownership or breeding of racehorses. The IHCF is currently accepting applications for the next Racing Legacy Fund grant period. The next submission deadline is March 1, 2013. The Racing Legacy Fund grant guidelines and application can be found online at IndianaHorseCouncil.org (On the Home page under “Equine News”). For more information please contact Kristina Keener Yeager at IHCFoundation@ yahoo.com. The IHCF is an Indiana non-profit corporation organized in 1992 to encourage support of and funding for worthwhile charitable, scientific and educational projects benefiting equine and equine-related activities in Indiana by serving the needs of both donors and recipients. News Kelsie Lancaster named Purdue University’s First Rodeo Queen Purdue Rodeo Association held it’s first Rodeo Queen Competition on March 24, 2012. The competition consisted of five section; an oral interview, a written exam, modeling, a speech and an equestrian portion of tests. The equestrian portion was in two judged sections. The first section was a pattern each contestant had to complete and the second section was based on the contestant’s “queen wave.” The 2012 Purdue University Rodeo Quen Competition was won by 21 year old Kelsie Lancaster. Kelsie was named the overall winner by winning the equestrian, the written test, oral interview and the speech competitions
. Kelsie has been riding horses for as long as she can remember. Some of her earliest memories involve sitting on her old “baby sitter” horse with her mom and someone else standing on both sides of her! Kelsie tells us she used to ride pleasure horses when she was younger and rode pleasure in 4-H. Kelsie was a 10 year member of 4-H. She started barrel racing when she was in the 8th grade (about 6 years ago.)
he mostly will just ride if we go trail riding or just messing around. He wants to cowboy mounted shoot if he gets the chance.” Kelsie graduated From Westfield High School with academic honors in 2010 and is attending Purdue University. She has been at Purdue for three years now and is studying to get a degree in Law and Society. Kelsie will graduate with a minor in Forensic Science. Kelsie says, “I would like to eventually become a K9 cop for either a local police department or for the FBI, although my eventual goal is to work for the CIA or the government one day.”

All of Kelsie’s family either rides or used to ride. Kelsie says, “My sister, Kendra, despite missing her left arm, is one of the best riders I know. She rides mostly pleasure when she gets the chance but doesn’t show much anymore so she mostly just rides for fun at home. My mom used to show pleasure as a kid and now she barrel races at times with me but her main focus is trail riding. My dad used to show pleasure as well when he was younger and through 4-H. He also used to be a calf roper. Now

QUARTER HORSE DAY at HOOSIER PARK
fter the races were over and the last horse was cooled out, horsemen and QH racing fans enjoyed a complimentary dinner sponsored by the Quarter Horse Racing Association of Indiana. People enjoyed a great meal, visiting with friends, and participating in a fund raiser, which consisted of the a "Stick Horse Auction", which made it possible for the QHRAI to present a $6,000 check to Annie Steele to help offset some of her expenses while she is being treated for cancer. QHRAI would like to thank EVERYONE who participated to make this event a great success.
The crowd watched and made bids on horses that were being auctioned off!!
Horsemen enjoyed a great meal prepared by the Hoosier Park food services group.
The new owners of the stick horses waited for their horses name to be drawn in a "mock race draw". The hardest part of the process was for owners to name the rider on thier horse who they thought would win in the stick races that were to be run on October 27th!! The winning owner recieves a Steak House Dinner for 4, and the winning rider recieves a $100 bill (we all know jockeys don't eat in steak houses) !!
Annie Steele looks on as the stick horses were being previewed and auctioned off. Annie has been a very close part of our Quarter Horse family for many years. She was the out rider at Indiana Downs for several years, and was on the track each day for early morning training. We look forward to seeing her back in the saddle at the track real soon!!

QHRAI November Newsletter Hello to my Fellow Hoosier Quarter Horse Racing Fans. It’s a bittersweet time of the year for me. All the racing is over, the QHRAI Speed Sale is in the past, and winter is getting ready to settle in before long, but the yearlings are here and will become our main focus when the racing ends. I will miss seeing everyone at the track every day. I mean everyone from the horses, grooms, friends we share a shed row with, folks we just say hi to in passing, folks we have conversations with in Becky’s Kitchen, everyone in the race office, the grounds keepers, the gate crew, the jockeys, the morning and race time pony people, the familiar faces in the paddock, in the jock’s room, security folks and even the familiar faces at the betting windows, who know there will be last minute rushes to the windows on Quarter Horse nights, right up until the time that the gates pop open!! Did you ever stop to think about all the people we see and take for granted at the race track? Take a minute in your own mind to reflect on the many people you personally cross paths with at the track!! All of these people are part of our Quarter Horse Family!! Some we know better than others, but all our part of our family!! Since it’s November and Thanksgiving will be here soon, I think it’s appropriate to recognize some things I am thankful for. First of all, for the safe race meet that we have just completed!! In no small part to the stewards, the track crew, and for our Track General Manager, Brian Elmore, for keeping the horses’ and riders’ safety as a priority while we were competing at Hoosier Park’s state of the art facility! We have a lot to be thankful for in that when Tom Mosley presented the QHRAI Application to the Indiana Horse Racing Commission at the October Meeting, it was UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED, and special recognition was given by the new Chairman of the commission, Mr. Bill Diener, about the tremendous experience he had at QH Day at Indiana Downs. Not only does this approval mean that QHRAI will continue be the sole representative for Quarter Horse Racing in Indiana, and we will also be running for our percentage of the purse money received through gaming revenue, but that our REGULATORS recognize the many great things that we are responsible for in Quarter Horse Racing in Indiana. We really do have a SUCCESSFUL Program here

in Indiana, and I hope you are all thankful for what we have going on in our great state!! I’m thankful for the group of people who helped make Quarter Horse Day at Hoosier Park a great Success!! From the marketing group at Hoosier Park who were responsible for the Wild West Day Theme and the many activities throughout the day, to the food service staff who made the excellent food for our horsemen’s dinner , and to our own Quarter Horse Family in the race office, jocks room, others on the backside, board members, and even friends of board members (thanks Rachel) who took their time and creativity to decorate the stick horses, Vick Conway and Tom Mosley for auctioning the horses and giving them a great pedigree review, Chris Duke, QHRAI President and Hoosier Park’s own “Rachel” who helped to promote the auction, and all the buyers, whose generous contributions made it possible to give one of our friends, Annie Steele, a gift of $6,000 to offset some of her hardships as she is going through some very trying times while she is battling cancer. Annie, we hope you are feeling completely better, very soon. Finally, I am thankful for about a week of rest after the race meet ends to get recharged to build up to QHRAI’s next MAIN EVENT….. The Stallion Service Auction, 2012 Awards Program and General Membership Meeting. Hold the date for Saturday, January 5th, 2013. We will be meeting again at the Crown Plaza Hotel, Indianapolis Airport. If you are new to the industry and have never attended, we hope to see you there, or if you have been attending this event for the last 20 years or more, I hope you continue to make it a priority to come and enjoy the great opportunity to spend the entire day learning more about the QHRAI and racing opportunities in Indiana, and visiting with your Quarter Horse Friends. If you have questions about any part of the Racing Program in Indiana, please contact me or one of the QHRAI Board of Directors. We are always happy to provide as much information as possible!! Have a Blessed Thanksgiving Holiday!! Michelle Collins Executive Director Quarter Horse Racing Association of Indiana, Inc.

Accumulating Points – Horse and Rider Combination
When entering at shows, you may use the horse’s registered name or a nickname, but the same name must be used throughout the season. If you use different names at different shows for the same horse, there is a good chance the horse’s points will be split up. If this happens, points WILL NOT be combined at a later date. It’s your responsibility to use the same name for your horse at every show. You may receive points on more than one horse.

38th Annual Indiana Barrel Futurity September 7-9, 2012 Hoosier Horse Park - Edinburgh, IN
Futurity Winner Chris Coffey & VF A Snmokin Duck
Today’s economy is tough, just like the competitors who show up every year at the Indiana Barrel Futurity. This year was no different. Entries in all classes were only slightly down, and the great runs and riders made it enjoyable for everyone who attended. Chris Coffey of Glasgow, Kentucky won both go-rounds, plus the average, on a four-year-old gelding named VF A Smokin Duck. Jennifer Butcher of Flat Lick, Kentucky bought the horse from Andy Wininger about three weeks earlier, and Chris had never ridden him until the weekend of the Futurity. Andy had started the horse on the barrels and rode him in Futurities in 2012 before he sold him. Matt Boice of Johnstown, Ohio was the Reserve Champion of the Futurity on a very consistent entry named Rocknroll Frenchgirl. This really nice horse placed in several Futurities this year, including Fort Smith, Arkansas, and the Futurity at Winfield, West Virginia. There were also a lot of entries competing for Future Fortunes money. Over 90 entries ran for the $10,000 Bonus for Future Fortunes in the Open 4D on Saturday and the Futurity. This program is growing by leaps and bound and everyone wants to be part of it.

Friday Open 1D Derby and Saturday Troy won both Troy Crumrine & IBRA approved 4D Barrel Packin Ta Fame Races on Ima Frenchmans Pistol. and sired by Dash Ta Fame. Jan Dahlen owns this horse and she was thrilled with the beautiful crystal trophy that Lance Graves donated for the Derby winner. Lynn Roorda of Rensselaer, Indiana won the 2nd division of the Derby on Kwik Flash of Leg. And the winner of the 50 entry youth class was Miranda Goff, a lovely young lady from Chaplin, Kentucky who was riding her horse named Fly. This marks the fourth year of our Certified Indiana Bred program, which is sponsored by the Quarter Horse Racing Association of Indiana. The program offered bonus money for the highest placing race horse that had been certified through the State of Indiana. The Futurity winner was Trent Roorda of Rensselaer Indiana on a horse bred by Dianna Moster. Trent bought A Touch of Charm at the racetrack and started it on the barrels himself. He also won additional bonus money in the Saturday 4D for the 2nd highest placing Indiana Bred in that class. Dianna Jaqua of Noblesville, Indiana was the first place winner of the bonus money, riding a Twaynas Dash bred horse, HQH A Dash of Sugar.

This year we all missed Mel Daniels, who was scheduled to attend the awards ceremony in Massachusetts where he was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame. But due to illness Mel was hospitalized and missed the induction. We’re glad he is now out of the hospital and doing well, and we hope to see him next year. The show was also approved by the GBRA of Indiana. They had a nice turn out, and several of their members pitched in and helped us. Thanks to all of them. The event, as always, was great and we want to give a big thanks to our annual sponsors, including Murphy Trailer Sales, Harvey’s Collision Center, the QHRAI Racing Association, and the many other generous supporters who chipped in. Hope to see everyone in 2013!

Extreme Bathing I think I lead a fairly spoiled life....for a dog, that is. I mean, I have my own bed, my own food dishes and my people let me come and go as I please. All I have to do is look at the door and they are letting me out...give a little bark and they’re letting me back in. I have blankets and sweaters and coats for comfort. I have chew toys and balls and squeaky toys that I like to think of as treasure hunts. (They don’t last long without me finding that squeaker and removing it.)

the people talk about them and heard the lady freak out if she even thought she spotted one. But, as far I was concerned, the only fleas I had seen were dead ones. According to my vet (and the articles the lady has been reading on the internet) this year has been unusually dry and hot and I guess the fleas like that kind of weather. They’ve been showing up around here more than ever before and the lady of the house has became obsessed with ridding the property (and yours truly) of fleas.
What I’m trying to say it that I lead a pretty “posh” life. I didn’t know how “posh” my life has really been up until now. You see, my people take great care of me and my fellow dog buddies. We get all the necessary trips to the vet, which until now I really did not appreciate, and my people always put different kinds of stuff on us to keep us smelling clean and to keep the fleas and ticks away.
Since the stuff the people usually use on us for fleas isn’t working very well this year, the lady of the house has been reading about different “home remedies” and trying them out on Freckles and me. You would not believe some of the things you can find on the internet.... and most of them are ridiculous! Thank God she doesn’t believe everything she reads, but I wish she’d use a little more scrutiny. I mean, really? Would you want to smell like apple cider vinegar?
Up until the past month, I really couldn’t have told you what a flea was. I mean, I’d heard
Needless to say, this means I’m getting more attention than usual. I can’t say that
I enjoy this, but it is a necessary evil. I am getting at least two baths per week and being sprayed down with some sort of flea deterrent afterwards. Thankfully, she found something that seems to work pretty well. The stuff she’s using is called Skin So Soft and even though it makes me smell all froo-froo and sissified, I’ll take it over the little creepy crawlers anyday. I kind of feel a little sorry for my friend, Freckles, she is also getting the baths and she is a little bigger...and fuzzier than me. She looks like a drowned rat when she is wet and it takes them forever to get her all done and dry and brushed. How awful would that be? Although, I think Freckles likes the attention. Catcha later.... Glad for short hair,
Bella

Chasing Sunsets I hope you’ve noticed the beautiful fall sunsets we’ve had recently. If not, please slow down a little more in the evening hours and take note of God’s brilliant brushstrokes across the western sky. Being addicted to taking pictures and always searching for the first “perfect photo” and/or the next “really good photo”, I decided I was going to find a good location without obstruction to photograph the sunset. So one evening, I opened the door to my truck; called for Cinch and Cowboy to keep me company; and headed down the road. The first stop had a good view; but I was too late and the sun had already disappeared over the horizon. The next stop had a better view; but again, I was too late. Next thing I know, I’m gunning my truck on gravel roads; powersliding through turns; and heading farther west and farther from home. I finally “caught up” and I jumped out of my truck; ran out in a field; dropped down to my knees to get the right angle; snapped thirty or forty pictures; and the sunset was already gone. I ran back to my truck; turned around in the middle of the road; and headed further west. Three or four minutes later, I found another great view. I jumped out again and “click, click, click”. For the next 40 minutes, I crisscrossed countless country roads chasing a sunset. As I drove back home with only a glow left on the horizon in my rear-
view mirror, I thought “Chris, you were just chasing a sunset. How stupid is that?” In reality, I never came close to “catching” the sunset. It was actually thousands of miles away from me, even when I thought I was close. But, then I thought – “Isn’t that what most of us do all the time?” We chase something we can never catch. We can appreciate the beauty of it. We can enjoy its brilliance. We can relax with it at the end of the day; but we can never catch it no matter how hard we try or how long we are willing to chase it. It only lasts a few moments. It is here; and it is gone. The sunset only represents the end of another day filled with sunshine. It gets all the glory, all the attention and all the memories. Everyone stops to appreciate the fleeting beauty of its multi-colored luminescence; but take for granted all the preceding moments of warm sunshine. It’s the emotional stimulation of a beautiful sunset that we are drawn to; but the consistent moments of sunshine provide life-giving and sustaining power to our lives. In the end, it’s the sunshine of the entire day, not the fleeting moments of a sunset that will nurture us; keep us living exceptionally; and allow us to develop as we were divinely designed.

History is always an important part of a BSE. In the case of the mare BSE it is important to know when the mare has previously been pregnant and if there were any years she did not produce a live foal, what years those were. It is also helpful to know the breeding management program the mare has been under in past breeding years. The physical exam part of the BSE begins with an overall evaluation of the mares condition including body weight and condition of the teeth since dental health is directly related to body condition. A mare is more likely to become pregnant if her weight is good and she is actually gaining weight at the time of conception. If the mare is too thin or too fat her nutritional program should be adjusted accordingly. The mare’s external genitalia should be examined including the mammary glands as the mammary glands will produce the milk which feeds the foal. The vulvar conformation should be evaluated as some mares and especially older or thin mares will have vulvas that tip forward or have poor vulvar tone. Some mares have a sunken anus. All these defects predispose the mare to uterine infections. The internal portion of the exam includes a thorough palpation and ultrasound exam. The uterus and ovaries are examined to make sure they are normal size and shape. The ultrasound exam allows the uterus Page 32

As the new year rolls in, many breeders are considering adding new mares to the broodmare band and some new stallions off the track are heading to the breeding shed. If these new mares are not pregnant then a breeding soundness exam (BSE) is usually a good investment that can prevent a lot of wasted time and money that is spent trying to get a mare pregnant that actually has some reproductive issues that can keep her from becoming pregnant. A BSE should also be performed on mares that failed to become pregnant or carry a foal to term in the previous breeding season. It is equally important for stallions to have a (BSE) before the upcoming breeding season. Waiting until breeding season is underway and having mares start showing up not pregnant not a good idea. Each BSE should be designed to fit the individual mare or stallion and the situation that is presented. Keep in mind that the results of a BSE cannot be used to guarantee the fertility of any mare or stallion. A BSE can only be used to evaluate the potential fertility of the mare or foal at the time of the examination.
to be examined for uterine fluid, uterine cysts and other abnormalities. This part of the exam allows for the determination of the stage of the mare’s cycle. The next part of the exam is the vaginal speculum exam. This allows visualization of the vagina, vestibule, and cervix to check for adhesions, urine pooling and varicose veins. At this point a uterine culture and cytology is performed. These tests give information that can identify uterine bacterial or fungal infections. If the mare has a history of infertility, a uterine biopsy is probably indicated as long as there is enough time to allow about sixty days between the biopsy and breeding the mare.
BSE of the stallion also includes a thorough history from previous years and any medications the stallion may have been on while racing or showing if he is a retiring race or show horse. The history should include the previous breeding management programs, the number of mares bred, the first cycle pregnancy rate and the seasonal pregnancy rate for all previous breeding seasons. The stallions temperament and ease of collection should be part of the history. Just as with the mare, body condition and overall health is important. The stallion’s BSE includes examination of the stallion’s genitalia, semen collection and collection of samples for culture along with an Equine Viral Arteritis test. The cultures are taken from the stallion’s semen, prepuce, urethra and urethral fossa. These cultures allow the identification of any bacteria that are growing in the reproductive tract that may affect fertility. The EVA test can be taken with a blood sample. If it comes up negative then the negative test should be documented and the stallion vaccinated with an approved EVA vaccine. Most breeding farms require incoming shipped semen to be from EVA negative and vaccinated stallions. If the blood sample comes up positive for EVA because of a previous vaccination that was undocumented, the semen can be tested for EVA viral isolation. If the stallion is truly EVA negative but tested blood positive because of a previous vaccination, the semen viral isolation test will prove he is EVA negative. The libido and ability to mount a breeding phantom or live mare is evaluated. While the stallion is being prepared for semen collection his penis is evaluated for any abnormalities or injury. If there has been more than a week since the stallion’s previous collection, a second collection should be performed an hour or so after the first so that a

When all the lab results are in and they have been combined with the physical exam findings, an intelligent evaluation can be made of the mare’s chances to maintain a full term pregnancy or to produce an embryo for embryo transfer. The data can also help determine a treatment plan for mares with uterine infections. These treatments may include antibiotic therapy, caslick’s surgery, acupuncture and a multitude of other treatments that will be decided on with the owner and veterinarian putting all the pieces of the puzzle together. Additional hormonal therapy may be added before or during breeding season.
more accurate estimate of daily sperm output (DSO) can be obtained. DSO is used to predict the number of mares a stallion can impregnate in a breeding season. DSO can also be estimated by measuring the size of the testicles with ultrasonography. Testicular size is directly related to DSO. Ultrasonography of the testicles allows for evaluation of any abnormalities such as tumors or scar tissue from previous injuries. The semen is evaluated for color, morphology, volume, concentration, raw and extended motility. The motility is evaluated for total progressively motile sperm. The semen is also evaluated for its ability to survive shipping, cooling and freezing if shipping and freezing semen enter into his reproductive management plan. If the BSE is being performed because of subpar fertility then other tests such as endoscopy, biopsy, sperm chromatin structure assay and hormonal analysis may be indicated. Just as with the mare BSE, the final evaluation is done when all the tests results are available. Also like the mare, the stallion BSE does not guarantee a stallion’s reproductive abilities but it can be a good predictor of a stallion’s ability to impregnate mares. The results of all the tests will determine how many mares he can breed per day and per breeding season. While a BSE requires some time and financial investment, it is usually well worth the time and money to know where the mare and stallion stand reproductively before they are well into the breeding season.

Fall is Officially Here Hey Everyone: Well, it has gotten cold - QUICK! Congress and haunted houses for me. We lost a very young barrel racer this month that made a great mark in barrel racing and a lot of people’s hearts. I had a hard time putting this together, but here are just a few of my thoughts about Chalee Gilliland. Chalee always had a smile on her face and I would always try to make it to the fence to watch her ride. She bought “Josie,” who my cousin Casey used to ride. I definitely know I can’t ride a lot of horses, but when Casey got rid of that horse I was glad. She would bite and kick and wouldn’t pay attention when Casey or I tried her on barrels. But to watch Chalee ride her, it was amazing. She was awesome and Chalee was an awesome rider. They just clicked.

There was one time Chalee came up to us and she was selling bracelets that she had made, she was taking the money and donating to cystic fibrosis (that was really touching). And at the NBHA Youth World this year we all dressed up as jockeys and had stick horses, she was all blinged out and everything matched. She was definitely the best dressed and put the most time into her stick horse. My grandpa is in heaven and I am sure he is chasing Chalee up and down the fence while she barrel races. We all love you Chalee and you will be forever missed but never forgotten.

JM Miss Fathom Rose (Bella) - 6 year old Quarter Horse. A new horse Chalee just started to ride because Josie got hurt. They were just starting to get together. Chalee ran Bella at Cloverdale and ran 4th fastest out of 200+ riders. When asked how that felt, she replied, “I forgot to smooch coming home because I was smiling too much”!!!

Accomplishments: 2009 Indiana Junior Rodeo Association All Around Cowgirl, NBHA Youth World Qualifier four times and Finalist twice. NBHA State Show Finalist three years in a row. She also was a gymnast before she discovered horses. And vault was her favorite event and she always scored very well. Hobbies: riding horses, go carts and 4-wheelers, and loving her family Other animals: Ruby - her red heeler, three kitties, and one giant water frog, Chalee loved all animals...in our yard we have three crosses where her hermit crabs are buried! Who was her mentor? Brittany Schultz, she rides a fast horse and is super nice!
Who taught her to ride? Bob McKnight and he supplied her with two good horses! Chalee loved barrel racing, when the rides were done she would still be running the pattern on foot or her scooter. She made friends where ever she went. She always supported other riders, especially her sister, Riana!!! Chalee asked her mom once what she thought it would be like to ride Hot Shot or Scamper, I bet she is riding one now. Whenever you see Riana riding just know that Chalee is with her always. Chalee would want everyone to live life like she did!! She lived fast and loved hard! Hang on,
Clint is a graduate of East Central High School. His parents are Terrie VanVolkenburgh and respectively Joe Trentman. He has grown up in the horse world, both parents have rode almost all their life...Clint's grandfather as some of you may remember was the late Terry VanVolkenburgh, who would run up and down the fences when his daughters would run barrels. Clint began barrel racing at the age of 4 with a pony, then went on to particpate in Jr. Rodeo and his favorite event was the sheep riding, had to believe he is now a barrel racer. He has won the Ohio Youth NBHA and Indiana Youth and Open NBHA , he has also won the congress youth barrel four times, and was runner up in the Congress Sweepstakes, placed at Josey Jr. world numerous times, and won the NBHA Youth World 1d in 2006. He loves to barrel race and is now trying his hand at the futurities. In Clint's spare time he mows grass for a part time job and is also very active in his church where he and his cousins are bible school helpers. Clint also volunteers one day a week at a school in Cincinatti where he spends time tutoring other kids in reading.

Our rodeo friends truly become our rodeo family. We cheer on each other’s kids as if they are our own. We get together to practice or have clinics so all of the kids can improve together. We spend hours volunteering to raise money to send the Jr. High Division kids to Nationals. We lend horses, ropes, tires, trailers, trucks, tack, and spouses. We do all of the things that families do, and when we come together we do it like family. We recently were reminded how much we love our family and what they mean to us. The Gilliland family, a part of our rodeo family for a few years, unexpectedly lost their daughter, Chalee. Word traveled quickly through the families and into our hearts. In talking with Chalee’s mom, Susan, she wanted to thank the McKnight family for getting them involved in IJRA and barrel races. Susan said that they were lucky to show and rodeo, because while so many other families were running separately in different directions, the Gilliland’s were able to spend so much time together as a family with Chalee. Our IJRA families are also thankful for the time we were able to share with Chalee. Some of the kids and families shared their thoughts with us later in the article.

Our IJRA Awards Banquet is just around the corner. It will be held on December 1st at 4:00 in Greenfield, IN. Please note that the banquet is being held at a new location this year. If you have not completed your reservation form and sent it to Rachel Thomas, please do so before November 16th. We will be having our live auction again this year and would love if everyone could bring an item to add to the auction. All money raised goes toward year end awards. We hope to see you all there!
Our 2012-2013 IJRA Princess, Alyssa Griffiths has done an outstanding job so far representing our great association. This past October, Alyssa encouraged all members and their families to break out their pink and support Breast Cancer Awareness. We look forward to many more exciting rodeos this year with Alyssa leading the way.

A Tribute to Chalee Gilliland C “Live Fast, Love Hard”
halee L. Gilliland was born Feb 16, 2001 and went to be with the Lord on Sept. 22, 2012. She leaves behind her parents, Robert and Susan, and her sister, Riana. She was born with Cystic fibrosis, an inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system of about 30,000 children and adults in the United States (70,000 worldwide). A defective gene and its protein product cause the body to produce unusually thick, sticky mucus that clogs the lungs and leads to life-threatening lung infections; and obstructs the pancreas and stops natural enzymes from helping the body break down and absorb food. At birth, Chalee had many obstacles to overcome, including four life threatening surgeries in which she lost 2/3 of her small intestines where much of the digestion and absorption of food takes place. Through all the medical procedures, medications, and treatments, Chalee’s sparkling blue eyes were all knowing and already wise beyond her age. And once Chalee had been freed of all the tubes her feet hit the floor, she never stopped! She was always on the go. Living life in the fast lane! Don’t tell her she couldn’t do something because she would do it just to prove you wrong. Her papaw said she lived life like she played poker, ALL IN. Chalee was also born with a huge love of animals and people! She always had an animal she was holding, whether real or stuffed. And then, one day she discovered HORSES! That is when her true passion arose. She was constantly talking about, looking at pictures of, pretending to be one, or riding one. Her mom grew up with horses so Chalee got the “H” gene honestly. Then she learned of rodeo… Indiana Junior Rodeo to be exact…the riding, roping, goat tying, and mutton busting, it was the start of her horse career. Her first year in IJRA she qualified for the finals in two events, mutton busting and goat tying. Mutton busting and barrel racing were her two favorite events back then. She really liked when riding the sheep, the buzzer sounded and the bull fighters would grab her off the sheep, whisking her from all the danger. The next year, her second grade year in school, she won the All Around Cowgirl award. She won her first saddle and had the seat made pink, her favorite color! She then went on to barrel racing exclusively and joined both the IBRA and NBHA. She was successful in both organizations. She won the 1D titles in both Open and Youth in 2011 in the NBHA. She also qualified for the Youth World every year she was a member and was a finalist twice. Barrel racing was her life support. She lived, breathed, and loved barrel racing. When she was done running for the day, she would be found in the back pen running the pattern on foot. She would set up rocks and run her scooter around the cloverleaf pattern. Her sister, Riana, was always having to time her. Once she ran the 4th fastest time in a class of 287 and when she was back in the alley, her mom asked her how that felt. Her reply was, “I forgot to smooch on the way home because I was smiling too much.” Chalee also loved her family and friends. She found a friend wherever she went. She always had a smile on her face and cheered for all the other competitors. She would want those she left behind to remember to live like she did, all in. She would want us all to find happiness and live and love like there is no tomorrow.
B
oth the IJRA and the IHSRA paid tribute to Chalee and all that she has added to our lives. We shared what Chalee would love for us to carry on for her. The love of animals, the love of family, and making friends with someone who needs a friend. Many of the families and members had things to share about Chalee, here are a few that we wanted to share. Chalee’s mom summed it up best when she said that Chalee would want us all to “Live Fast and Love Hard” just the way she did. Sydney Hurley -Chalee was a great friend with a beautiful smile that made everyone’s day. There’s a ginormous spot in my heart for her!!! Rest in Peace Chalee. LIVE FAST, LOVE HARD! Anne Hyde – Chalee always emitted light and lover that was up-lifting. She was always smiling, happy and would look you in the eye when you spoke to her. She was such a talented rider, I loved watching heh run barrels and seeing the smile on her face when she did well.
Page 39
The Zimmerman Family – Chalee was the first friend that Maci made at IJRA when we first joined. Chalee took Maci under her wing and showed her the ropes. She inspired Maci to ride sheep and cheered her on each time. We bought Maci’s first pony from Susan before we ever went to our first rodeo. Maci and Chalee were stuck together the night we came to look at Cody. Very, very sweet girl and very nice family. We missed them after they left IJRA. Maci always like to look on Facebook at Susan’s page and see what Chalee and Riana were up to. Thanks for passing on Susan’s wishes for our
kids to carry on those things that meant so much to Chalee. I think that’s very special and something we should all do. Anity Ashley and Taylor Wilson – We were so saddened by the loss of Chalee, our prayers go out to this young cowgirl’s family and friends. The Thomas Family – (Sage)Chalee always had a smile that would make anybody happy and Chalee could always lift someone’s feelings when they were down. (Drew) I liked having Chalee as a friend.

State Championships July 11-15, 2012 Edinburgh, Indiana
The NBHA Indiana State Championship Show has become a pilgrimage for many Hoosier barrel racers in mid-July. Canchasing enthusiasts from across the state of Indiana, as well as several riders from surrounding states, make the drive to Edinburgh, Indiana’s beautiful Hoosier Horse Park to take a run at some great prizes, prize money and a good time. Like last year, eligibility to compete at this year’s NBHA Indiana State Show required riders to be current NBHA members and to have competed in three (3) sanctioned shows within their declared district between July 12, 2011 and July 11, 2012. Entries were taken up until Thursday and Friday of the event (depending on which class being entered.)

The grounds opened on Wednesday (the day before the first competition) to give the “pilgrims” a chance to get themselves and their horses settled. They were also are able to ride during “Open arena” time and to make an exhibition run if they chose. Thursday morning offered up another set of Exhibition barrels before the excitement of the Opening Ceremonies which included the National Anthem, sung by Casey Sparks, and a tribute in the arena to the American flag. This was a great way to start the event. The first go around of the Youth immediately followed the opening ceremonies and it almost seemed appropriate that the pace was set by the National Anthem crooner, Casey Sparks, riding Senecho’s Red Ryder. The pair posted the first sub 15 second run of the event with a 14.982 to win the 1D. Madison Shambaugh and her horse, SFSavahorseridacowboy, clocked to take first place in the 2D with a 15.491. Chessler Biggs and Classical Jaguar posted a 16.032 to win the 3D money while Kyle Miller and Spice took home the 4D with a 17.023.

Indiana NBHA State Show - Continued Following the Youth it was time for the 50 and over Senior crowd to have their time in the spotlight. Mary Freels and her mount, Madame Verdict, had to make a statement to start their 2012 Championships with a 14.887, the only sub 15 time to be clocked during the Senior 1st go around. The pair took first place in the 1D. A familiar name at the NBHA Indiana State Show, Steven Cole, placed first in the 2D with his mare, Whatintheblazes, posting a 15.499. The 3D check went to Lynn Roorda riding Kwikflashoflightning. The pair’s time was a 15.921. Carl Harlan and Rarely Late clocked a 16.955 to take the 4D. Many hung around Thursday evening to find out if they were included in the first set of qualifiers to make the finals. They also hung around the arena to watch the Annual Director’s District Challenge Barrel Race. The winners of this event were as follows: 1D Haley Dick of District 02, 2D Michelle Beard of District 05, 3D Pam Headley of District 03 and 4D Lori Williams of District 00.
Youth
More excitement abounded on Thursday with the addition of a Youth Coke Race. Similar to a “Dash for Cash,” the riders (under age 19) were required to ride down around a barrel as fast as they could run. As they rounded the barrel they were to pick up a bottle of Coke from the top of the barrel and then run back through the timing light. The winner of this exciting event was Sydney Chapman who then represented Indiana in the Coke race at the NBHA Youth World! Finishing off the excitement for Thursday evening was the Pee-Wee barrels. Indiana NBHA State Show- Continued around. Beth Marsh and her reliable gelding Dun Got Paid (aka “Dusty”) took the 1D money with a 14.859. Lynn Roorda made another appearance at the pay window with his Kwikflashoflightning, this time for second place in the 1D. The 2D went to Pat Cannon riding Go Princess Mito with a 15.370. Steven Cole added to his winnings from the first go with the 3D check win on his mare, Whatintheblazes. Anna Davis rounded out the second go division winners by claiming the 4D check with a time of 16.928 aboard Jet N Rockets. The conclusion of the Senior second go was followed by the second go of the Open. Penny Russ topped the leader board riding her Famous Dash Riprock to a time of 14.588, the fastest time of the event to that point. Pat Cannon was also making a second appearance at the pay window for a division win thanks to a time of 15.088 aboard Go Princess Mito. Jessie Cunningham took first place in the 3D by clocking a time of 15.590 riding Real Dealer and Becky Thomas rode Dash Hard Time to a 16.093 and the 4D money.

Once the Open second go was complete it was time for the wait while numbers were crunched and papers rustled and finally all the names of those who would make a run during Sunday’s finals were posted. Several were elated while others found out they were the dreaded “one hole out.” The rest of the evening on Saturday was spent enjoying the atmosphere and spending time with friends. The weather was hot, but that didn’t stop everyone from having a great time. Saturday evening also brought about the Silent Auction as well as the Live Auction of donated items. This was a great time as it has always been in the past and there were some great deals for a great cause. Ty Casey offered up his services as auctioneer for the fun.

Sunday (Finals Day) always has a feel of excitement and anticipation at what could happen for everyone on the list of contestants. This Sunday was no different. Those on the list of finalists were getting focused and in the back of their mind somewhere, they had though that by the end of the day they, or any one of those names on the list, could have been named a State Champion. Some chose to start their Sunday off at the church service offered in Baker Arena. This year’s service was led by Jon Hemmer. When 9 am rolled around it was Youth Finals time. It was safe to say that the kids got serious on Sunday. Cheyanna Patrick and her talented mare, Hays Victory Eye (aka “Filly”), set the bar very high with a 14.553 to top the leader board of the 1D. This win earned the pair yet another Indiana State Championship and another trophy saddle to add to their growing collection. Following for second place was Brooke Taylor and Easy Rebel Leader. The pair clocked a 14.723 which earned them a Reserve Championship along with a trophy buckle and a nice paycheck. Madison Shambaugh and SFSavahorsridacowboy topped the 2D with a fast
time of 15.207 that earned the pair a trophy saddle. Lane Edwards and This Rebels Red were Reserve 2D Youth Champions with a 15.218. The 3D win went to Matthew Smith riding Oh My Hesa Runner (aka “Phil”.) The two posted a 15.686 which earned them a State title and a new saddle to prove it. Matthew purchased Phil as a green broke three-year-old. He gives Jackie Herron credit for pointing out that two would make a good team. Matthew says that Phil is “very flexible on both sides and has a tremendous stride.” Matthew got his start in 4H and after encouragement from friends moved on to compete at open shows. He gives several people credit for influencing his riding style and names Chuck Tolbert as his favorite barrel racer. Reserve 3D winner was Haylee Moore riding Haylees Comet. Their time of 15.694 earned them a trophy buckle for their efforts.Riana Gilliland took the top of the 4D aboard M5’s Bo (AKS Dial A Boy) with a time of 16.825. Riana is from Bloomington, Indiana. She told us that she and her horse, Bo, “love each other and take care of each other. We just make it work.” Riana named her sister, Chalee Gilliland, as her favorite barrel racer. In September of this year (two months after the NBHA Indiana State Championships) Chalee passed away. She had battled cystic fibrosis. (Read more about Chalee and her legacy through this issue.)

Indiana NBHA State Show - Continued Their time of 14.578 earned them another saddle to add to their collection. Kalah and “Perk” are quite a team and have quite a list of accomplishments. They have been venturing into the rodeo world and doing very well. Pat Cannon followed behind for the Reserve State title and buckle. Pat rode Go Princess Mito to a 14.591.
Riana’s accomplishments include Reserve Champion Cowgirl in IJRA, Rookie of the Year in SIJRA and she has qualified for the NBHA Youth World for the past three years. She is thankful for her family and the time they spend together competing at barrel races. Senior riders didn’t let the kids upstage them this year. They came ready to ride and rode them like they stole them. The 1D Senior Champion clocked the fastest time of the event on Sunday during the Senior Finals. Penny Russ guided Famous Dash Riprock to a smoking 14.467 to best the field by almost 4 tenths of a second. This smoking time earned her a nice paycheck and a trophy saddle. Mary Freels was the only other rider in the first division and she managed to get both of her horses in there. Smithmills and Madame Verdict ran a 14.859 and a 14.866 respectively. Mary claimed the 1D Reserve buckle. Terri Harvey shut the clock off with a 14.974 riding her good mare, Pass the Flit to the 2D Championship title, while Valerie Daunhauer and her horse Grander Smith, the 2011 Senior Champs, took the 2D Reserve title and buckle with a 15.014. Steven Cole made yet another appearance in the Winner’s Circle for the 3D title riding Whatintheblazes to a 15.538 with Cindy Patrick and Global Bug right behind with a 15.540 for the Reserve title and buckle. The 4D winner was Anna Davis riding Jet N Rockets to a 16.548. Anna took home a nice paycheck and a trophy saddle. Reserve 4D Champion was Beth Coffee riding her horse, Sun, to a 16.775 for the trophy buckle. The Open Finals was just as exciting as ever and this year once again found Kalah Welch and her awesome mare, JM Alive And Perquix, on top. This made the pair’s third Open 1D State Championship. Kalah told us it was just luck, but I’m sure we’ll all agree that it’s more than just luck that has put this talented pair in the Open winner’s circle here more than any other team.
The 2D Champion had to be determined by a run off this year. Devin Reynolds and Mr Kutch clocked a 15.080 and so did Ronday Casey riding Mister Silver Casday. Once the finals were over the two teams made another run. Once the dust was settled, it was a close one, but in the end Devin Reynolds took the Championship title and saddle while Ronda took the buckle and Reserve title. Nicole Badman and Saturated Fats claimed the 3D title with a 15.594 that earned them a beautiful saddle and a nice paycheck. Nicole was followed by Jaime Roorda riding Red Hot N Sparkin. Jamie and “Sparky” clocked a 15.608 to win the Reserve buckle. The 4D title went to Rylee Kelly riding Zan Baron Della. The pair clocked a 16.119 to take home the trophy saddle. Rylee started riding in Junior rodeos when she was only four years old and barrel racing was her favorite event. Rylee’s first barrel race at a rodeo was aboard Della. A friend owned her at the time and led Rylee through the pattern. A year later her family purchased Della after the friend decided to sell her. Della does it all, barrels, poles, goat tying and breakaway. Rylee gives credit to the Indiana NBHA State Director, Bob Hess, for influencing her rising style and names Martha Josey as her favorite barrel racer. Right behind Rylee (by one hundredth of a second) to become Reserve 4D Champion was Becky Thomas riding Dash Hard Time to a time of 16.120. The 5D (new this year) title went to Beth Coffee riding Sun. The pair clocked a 16.592 and Reserve 5D winner was Renee Schulz riding Ana Del Sonny. Their time was a 16.622.

Broke and Happy
w/ Christa Conway
Yes - I used the same title as Brother Brad’s poem on the opposite page this month, but I just kept going back to it and it seemed to be what I needed to write about. Most people see those words and think about how they shouldn’t be together. I mean, how can you be both broke and happy? Whether you’re referring to broke, as in no money, or broke, as in pieces, it seems that neither would make anyone happy. Of course, I had to think deeper (Thank you, Brother Brad.) and realized that if we cannot be happy in either of those cases, then we truly are not happy at all. I mean, most people would find it easy to be happy if they had lots on money, right? And how could anyone who is “poor” in the world’s view be happy? Truth is, I think it is a misconception that with wealth comes happiness. In fact, I think that sometimes having wealth can make it harder for someone to find true happiness (or joy.) Material things can only temporarily fill the needs of those who are searching for real happiness or true joy. Now, I’m not saying that wealthy people can’t be happy or can’t be close to God, but I do think that sometimes the “need” to find God can be easier pushed aside when one has no earthly “needs.” Show me a man who just lost his job and I’ll show you a man who is praying for God to provide. Being “broke” in the world’s eyes would typically be sterotyped as a sad life. But is that a given? Is it harder to be “happy” or joyful if you are broke? Again, I think we all know this isn’t true. Bottom line, the true “happy” isn’t coming from the money. We’ll move on to the second way someone can be “broke.” I think of this as someone who has had life’s toughest situations thrown at them and is on the verge of giving up. This is when most tend to look to God for help. I know I’m guilty of this. I can be walking the opposite way from God and something bad happens...you know I’m real fast to get back where I should’ve been all along.
Page 44
Isn’t it human nature? We think we can do it all on our own until something knocks us on our rear and we find ourselves looking at what seems like an impossible situation. It can be so easy to just throw our hands up and concede to failure. BUT, we don’t have to....God is always there to lend us a hand and help us put the pieces back together. The secret to allowing it to happen is to take one step at a time and realize that God is in control. It’s in those broken times that if we can muster a smile and find some peace through Him, that we may actually find true happiness and true joy. That’s the kind of happiness that we only get a small glimpse of while we’re here on Earth. It’s almost Heavenly, but if you’ve ever witnessed it, you know what I mean and you’ll never forget it.
To tell you the truth, I’m not sure if I have made any sense at all this month. I keep thinking of Job and how he was happy before he lost everything. Then I think of how easy it would have been for him to be sour and hate God when all the bad things happened....but he didn’t. He had that true happiness I’m trying to relay. Job was happy even when he was as broken (in both senses) as a man could be. The only way to acheive that kind of happiness is to put your trust in Him. If you’re looking for scripture to read for this month, I would suggest the book of Job. Until next month.... Look to God for your happiness, He can help you find it, even if you are broke... Happy Trails & God Bless! Christa
On the Trail
By Brother Brad Curtis of Mountain Top Cowboy Church
BROKE AND HAPPY As the sun hit the sky Another day on the trail Pushin` them onery critters Leather, horns and tails
The trail boss rode on As Hap kept ridin` drag Chokin` on the dust Breathin` through his wild rag
Then the boys rode up Jess asked are you alright Hap smiled at them Said just enjoyin` the night
Hap was ridin` drag A day of eatin` dust He’d been there for days But Hap never fussed
Then his pony stumbled Fallin` to the ground Hap gritted his teeth He never made a sound
As the trail boss knelt down He said I’m here cowboy Happy said my legs broke But I still have my Joy
The trail boss rode back Said Hap you’re a top hand I’m sure glad to have you Here workin` for the Brand
Layin` there broke up The herd went out of sight As the sun began to set Then there was no light
Yep I’d rather limp with you On heavens trail Than run with the Devil And end up in hell
Hap smiled and nodded As the dust filled the air He just pushed them cows Like he didn’t have a care
As the stars came out Hap began to rejoice Smilin` at his pony Said pard I ain’t got no choice
Psalms 51:8 Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice. BY: Bro. Brad Curtis, 10/29/11, Vilonia, AR

One Last (& most important) thought… Salvation is a gift and a choice......
Read past issues of our Christian Cowboy Collection and the Christian Barrel Racer’s Newsletter at the website below!
Jesus died on the cross as the final sacrifice. When He was resurrected on the 3rd day, he defeated Satan for us. All we have to do is believe that He beat death and acknowledge it with our words. If we believe that and accept Him as our personal savior…we are promised eternal life with Him in Heaven. You can’t earn your way into Heaven; you have to believe your way there. So many people think they “aren’t good enough” to get to Heaven… But… Salvation is a GIFT from God and you don’t earn a gift. Gifts are something someone gives to you and for the gift to be yours, you have to accept it. All we have to do is accept that wonderful gift. I know I have…won’t you? But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God’s grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many. Romans 5:15
For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. Romans 10: 9-10

Brian Hernandez, Jr. Captures Indiana Oaks and Derby Double
Hoosier Park Press Release - It was a good day in Indiana for jockey Brian Joseph Hernandez, Jr. as the multiple Graded Stakes winning jockey captured the Grade II $200,000 added Indiana Oaks and the Grade II $500,000 Indiana Derby at Hoosier Park Racing & Casino on Oct. 6. It was the third consecutive year a jockey has won both of Hoosier Park’s signature Thoroughbred events.
Grace Hall under Brian Hernandez, Jr. dazzled fans with an impressive five and three-quarter length win in the 17th running of the Indiana Oaks. The duo covered the one and one-sixteenth mile race in 1:41.85 over a track that was upgraded to good after a muddy start for the day. Grace Hall wasted little time getting control of the petite field of five, breaking alertly to secure a stalking position on the outside of early pace-setters, Eden’s Moon and Rafael Bejarano. Wine Princess and Shaun Bridgmohan stalked the pace from the inside in third as they hit the first quarter mark in :23.67. Eden’s Moon continued to call the shots down the backside as the tightly packed field reached the second station in :47.31. Grace Hall was given the green light by Hernandez around the final turn as she ranged up to take the lead. The threeyear-old Empire Maker filly put her raw talent on display as she began to open up on the field in the stretch. Grace Hall continued on to the wire to finish five and three-quarter lengths in front of Wine Princess. Eden’s Moon held on for the third place finish. As the heavy betting favorite, Grace Hall returned $3.80 for the victory. “I was just the passenger today,” Hernandez, Jr. noted after the race. “This was all her. When I called on her down the stretch she went on pretty easily. I’m very thankful to have picked up this mount, she is just a really great filly and I think she showed that here today.” Trained by Tony Dutrow, Grace Hall notched the third win of her 2012 campaign as she sent her seasonal bankroll over $600,000. Owned by Michael Dubb, Stuart Grant, and Bethlehem Stables, LLC, Grace Hall has now won six of her ten lifetime outings while bankrolling over $1.2 million in purse earnings for her connections. The multiple graded stakes winning filly was rebounding off a fifth place finish in the Grade I Alabama Stakes at Saratoga on Aug. 18. Hernandez Jr. followed suit in the very next race as he got Neck’N Neck home a winner in the 18th running of the Grade II $500,000 Indiana Derby for trainer Ian Wilkes. Far back early, the three-year-old colt unleashed a powerful move around the final turn and continued on to win by three-quarters of a length with a final time of 1:42.71. Unhurried out of the gate, Neck’N Neck got away a worrisome tenth in the eleven horse field. The heavy betting favorite, Fed Biz and Rafael Bejarano broke alertly from post four to get the first call. Junebugred also broke alertly under Terry Thompson to duel for the early advantage along the inside through

a first quarter in :23.60. Tritap and Shaun Bridgmohan stalked the pace from three wide as Second City and Marlon St. Julien also ranged up to press the pace down the backside. Fed Biz and Junebugred continued to exchange for the lead through the second quarter in :48.32. The pace began to quicken as the tightly knit field negotiated the final turn while Neck ‘N Neck began to make his move, rallying five wide on the outside. Fed Biz continued to led as the field turned for home in the one and one-sixteenth mile contest. With the Fed Biz tiring on the front, Neck’ N Neck accelerated coming off the final turn and pressed on to the wire to finish in front of late charging Bourbon Courage. Fed Biz held on gamely for the third place finish. Neck ‘N Neck returned $11.20 to his backers. “I talked to Ian before the race and he said he wanted to see him off the pace,” winning rider Hernandez, Jr. noted. “I was a little worried because we were hung kind of wide, but turning for home I was pretty confident in my horse. Every time I asked him for more he went on, once he got the lead he waited for them a little bit but he took back off and felt really good at the wire.” The Flower Alley colt was looking to bounce back and did after a sixth-place finish in the GI Travers Stake at Saratoga on Aug.25. Owned and bred by A. Steven Miles, Jr., Neck ‘N Neck notched his third win of the season in nine starts as he pushed his seasonal bankroll over $387,000. The homebred colt has now four of 13 lifetime starts and over $420,000 in purse earnings.
The Jockey Club Releases 2012 Report of Mares Bred Statistics
The Jockey Club today released Report of Mares Bred (RMB) statistics for the 2012 breeding season. Based on RMBs received through Oct. 14, 2012, The Jockey Club reports that 1,861 stallions covered 35,391 mares in North America during 2012. The annual statistics include the number of mares reported bred to each stallion and represent approximately 90% of the mares that eventually will be reported as bred in 2012. According to historical trends, The Jockey Club expects to receive RMBs representing an additional 3,500 to 4,500 mares bred during the 2012 breeding season. The number of stallions declined 3.8% from the 1,935 reported at this time in 2011, and the number of mares bred fell 3.0% from the 36,504 reported at this time last year. RMB statistics for all reported stallions in 2012 are available through the Publications & Resources section of The Jockey Club’s website at jockeyclub.com. The number of stallions covering 100 or more mares increased from 84 in 2011 to 87 in 2012. These stallions accounted for a greater percentage of the total mares reported bred this year — 31.9% of all mares bred in 2012 versus 30.6% of all mares bred in 2011 as reported at this time last year. Further book size analysis shows a 1.1% increase in the number of mares bred to stallions with a book size of 100 or more in 2012 when compared to 2011 as
ITOBA NEWS - Indiana Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association reported at this time last year; a 14.4% increase in mares bred to stallions with a book size between 75 and 99; a 4.1% decline in mares bred to stallions with a book size between 50 and 74; an 10.6% decrease in mares bred to stallions with a book size between 25 and 49; and an 6.3% decline in mares bred to stallions with a book size fewer than 25. In 2012, Cape Blanco (IRE) led all stallions with 220 mares bred. Rounding out the top five were Scat Daddy, 217; Kitten’s Joy, 213; Uncle Mo, 211; and Wilburn, 169. Thoroughbred breeding activity in Kentucky traditionally leads North America. During 2012, Kentucky’s 224 reported stallions covered 15,361 mares, or 43.4% of all of the mares reported bred in North America. The number of mares bred to Kentucky stallions declined 2.2% percent against the 15,714 reported at this time last year. Of the top 10 states and provinces by number of mares reported bred in 2012, only Florida and New York stallions covered more mares in 2012 than in 2011, as reported at this time last year. The following table shows the top 10 states and provinces, ranked by number of mares reported bred in 2012 through Oct. 14, 2012: State/Prov

Magic Hour Wires The Field in Hoosier Park Feature
Magic Hour showed no signs of intimidation in her debut amongst allowance company and at an unfamiliar distance, taking the early lead and never looking back en route to a 8 length victory in the $41,000 featured event at Hoosier Park Racing & Casino on Friday, Oct. 12. The three-year-old filly posted her second consecutive win after breaking her maiden by 3 ½ lengths over Hoosier Park’s surface on Sept. 14. Magic Hour, under Marlon St. Julien, wasted little time getting control of the eight horse field, rushing out of the gate from post three and landing in the top spot early. Red Bean Ice Cream and Orlando Mojica also left the gate well, moving into second along with Martinis At Lunch and Malcolm Franklin between horses. Divine Hope and Fernando De La Cruz also joined the early chase from the inside in fourth. As Red Bean Ice Cream and Martinis At Lunch sorted out positions heading down the backstretch, Magic Hour continued on task to lead the field through
Page 50
opening fractions of :24.58 and :48.21. The three-year-old Awesome Again filly put even more distance between herself and her opponents heading into the final turn. Red Bean Ice Cream and Martinis At Lunch began to drop back as Divine Hope began to make her bid at the leader heading into the stretch. In the stretch, Magic Hour continued to roll home, opening up by three lengths and eventually eight. Magic Hour covered the 7 ½ furlong event in 1:30.27 over a track rated fast. Divine Hope and De La Cruz rallied for the second place finish as Red Bean Ice Cream and Mojica held on for the third place finish. Magic Hour returned $7.00 as the public’s second choice in the field of threeyear-old fillies. Owned and bred by Janis R. Witham, Magic Hour has now won two of her five career starts. The lightly raced filly has bankrolled over $50,000 in 2012. Magic Hour is trained by Ian Wilkes. The multiple Graded Stakes winning trainer is no stranger to Hoosier Park’s winner’s circle. Wilkes trained the 2012 Indiana Derby Winner, Neck’N Neck.

Mystery of the Month W
e thought we were going to Mystery-less this month, but one of our readers came through with some pictures for us. (We’ll thank them officially next month....don’t want to give anything away!)
This month’s Mystery Cowboy is shown competing in a tie down roping competiton. This just happends to be an one of the grandest scales of roping a cowboy could reach. We hate to give too much away, other than to say this event was televised and if you happened to be watching, you witnessed history in the making. This cowboy and his family are still very active in the horse business. We’ll give you a chance to tell us who he is and then we’ll fill in all of the details next month. If you can identify this cowboy and his horse, the event and year then send us an email or give us a call to win your choice of a one year subscription to The Horse Resource, a “Horsey Hat” or a “Horsey-T.” Call 765-744-7363 or email thehorseresource@msn.com with your answer!
NO Peeking!
We’ll let you look after our Mystery is solved!
We Have A Winner!
L
ast month’s Mystery Cowboy of the Month was a young man by the name of Robbie Fetterhoff. Debbie Williams knew our mystery cowboy and she is this month’s winner. Robbie is shown riding “Sundae” in the picture from the 1980 Boone County Fair. Sundae was a great pony that won lots of awards with several kids over the years. (Our very own Christa Conway rode her for a short time! She was actually started and trained by Christa’s dad, Terry Rice.) Robbie is also shown in 1983 riding one of the Fetterhoff’s many geat horses. Robbie is still actively showing today along with his parents Marcia and Bob Fetterhoff. Congratulations to our winner, Debbie, for solving our mystery. She chose a FREE subscription for her prize. If you have some old photos that you’d like to have included in our Mystery of the Month, please email them to us at thehorseresource@msn.com with any information you can provide. We’d love to include them!
We Need Your Pictures From the Past..... We have ran out of photos!.....Please send us your older photos of horsemen and women (and kids) that are still active in the horse business today. Or if you have pictures of a well known horse or event....that will mix things up a bit. We’re up for some new mysterys if you are!! Keep sending us those photos!! Send via email to thehorseresource@msn.com or mail to 12601 S CR 200 W Muncie, IN 47302 Page 55
