Nelson Cardona

History of the first handicaps man Colombian that conquered the MOUNT EVEREST. CHAPTER 1.

Nelson Cardona Carvajal was born on January 18th in 1963 in Manizales, Caldas (Colombia)but currently he lives in a region mounts in Cundinamarca, his family always has been humble and workers, he is younger than his brothers and who demonstrated great passion for the mountains.

He was 12 years old did his first expedition in the snowed of the Ruiz in this experience, he discovered other possibility so he began his challenges in all Colombia.

After 8 years traveling throughout Colombia he decided return on Manizales and finish his studies while climbing mountains.

His principal wish was climb the Everest.For it,he prepared himself a lot.

While he was training to climb up the snowed of the Ruiz,suddenly (surenli) he lost his knowledge because there wasn't a lot oxigen and he fell of 18 metres of high to the vacuum and he suffered serious wounds five maxillofacial fractures, lost my teeth, had a cranioencephalic fracture; his hands and legs, you could say that they were pulverized. He remained paraplegic for three years.

Chapter 2.

80% POSITIVE ATTITUDE, 20% COMPETENCIES OF THE LIFE After of Monserrate´s situation Once he saw an Australian athlete that did not have both legs, but he talked about how beautiful is the life. He invited him to see him climb, and then, the Australian was his inspiration, it was the chic to change of mentality, then he took the decision of detached his leg.

All the body healed but his leg did not. In his disability he was full of sadness, grudges, fears and envy.

When he detached his leg, he starts a new life, he starts to grow spiritually, it was like take a new breathing and when you exhale to have the mentality of begin well. Since then he has been thinking well.

CHAPTER 3.

Everest Unlimited 2010 Epopeya Expedition.
