Great Entertainers

The HomePage News InSight™ Trend Index 2024/25, now in its second year of collaboration with trend analyst Tom Mirabile of Springboard Futures and Dawn Evans, director of marketing at the International Housewares Association, serves as a model for how intuitive, informed and industrious lifestyle product creation and selection can build a sustainable lifestyle-focused business. Once again, the InSight Trend Index team has explored influential industry trade shows in the U.S. and abroad to identify global trends driving growth and expansion across home and housewares categories.
InSight demonstrates how trend can be enduring and evolutionary, often prone to subtle, yet still meaningful shifts in lifestyle dynamics that can direct nuanced, yet vital adjustments in product development, marketing and merchandising.
The first portfolio of the latest InSight Trend Index series Great Entertainers exemplifies how the home entertaining trend that kicked off the inaugural InSight Trend Index a year ago continues as a primary catalyst for home and housewares growth. Yet this year’s installment
serves up distinctly different tones, underscoring the opportunity to develop and position product for consumers, another year into their renewed zest for celebrating myriad occasions with updated form and function in the comfort of their homes.
The observation and analysis provided by the HomePage News Insight Trend Index 2024/25 has also evolved with added marketplace intelligence and data to provide greater depth into the trends discovered and explored by InSight and the forces that drive and sustain them.
InSight is, in theory and practice, a collaboration with and for the home and housewares industry. Our roles in bringing this unprecedented trend report to the market stands as a metaphor for how retailers should explore trade shows and the other avenues through which they curate their selections… to look for more than products… to look for solutions and experiences.
The HomePage News InSight Trend Index is, indeed, a powerful tool.

Color and style play a very large role the way that people entertain today as both satisfy the need for self-expression, unleashing the consumers’ creative juices. Social media is primarily responsible for this influence, encouraging consumers to share their home settings, not only for friends and family but also inviting others to view their evolving personal use of color and style.

Executive Director, The Pantone® Color Institute
Entertaining remains a source of dynamic, memorable life moments. We continue to entertain in more locations both inside and outside our homes, and that creates new needs and challenges. Changing weather patterns are also impacting the foods we make, the drinks we serve and the timing for entertainment, and that’s creating new opportunities for retailers and brands as well. The desire to make entertaining moments special and unique is continually opening the door for innovation opportunities in both product and marketing.
Joe Derochowski VP, Home Industry Advisor, CircanaEntertaining has become a catalyst for introducing new trends into the home. Whether planning a summer soiree, an intimate dinner party or a weekend stay for friends, hosts often consider how they might freshen their décor. Introducing just a few trend-right items or even a new color is the surest way to do it. The impact is so powerful that it can transform a table setting, a bar setup or a conversation area into a space that is completely up to date.

As broad and diverse as global markets are today, one welcomed trend crossed all borders. We’re calling it Collected Colors. Fresh and foolproof color combos brought a new simplicity to style on home and housewares runways from Maison & Objet in Paris and HOMI Milano to The Inspired Home Show® in Chicago and Atlanta Market.
Four palettes emerged as directional for 2024-25…
Subtly smoky quartz, jade, tourmaline and topaz bring unexpected elegance and elevation to nearly pastel palettes.
Mood-lifting milky pales mix and match to soften contemporary sensibilities, lending feather-light freshness to both form and formality.
A vivid jewel box of semiprecious hues ranging from bright jade, citrine, aquamarine and tanzanite punctuated by deepest garnet and sapphire. Many combinations were grounded with quartz neutrals from Ivory to smoke.

Entertaining trends are constantly evolving and that informs both our new product concepts and development priorities. The best brands are always aware of how consumers live and what is exciting them; that’s what keeps us relevant. A strong awareness of trends helps us enhance those experiences, and also inspire new ones. At the end of the day, good brands understand products, great brands understand people, how they live and how to make their lives and experiences better.
Dan Siegel President, Lifetime BrandsSocial media has revolutionized how we entertain, transforming our homes into stages where creativity meets connectivity. Platforms like Instagram, TikTok and Pinterest have become the ultimate mood boards for entertaining at home, overflowing with creative tablescapes, DIY décor ideas, as well as recipes and techniques that inspire us to elevate our gatherings. It’s not just about sharing on social; it’s about crafting experiences that resonate with others, sparking a new wave of home entertaining.
Adrian Bredeson Co-Owner, E-Power MarketingEntertaining costs outside of the home have skyrocketed, so we’re all looking for products that can elevate our at-home entertaining, no matter what the size or the occasion. Flexibility and versatility are the new must-haves, so multi-functional and multi-component serving pieces have become especially desirable. Today’s eclectic style means moving beyond basic serving platters and bowls, so layering materials, patterns and colors easily and confidently is important. Home entertainers want products that reflect their personal style and taste in unique and variable ways to make it more of an experience not just an event.
Aaron Stewart Creative Director, Gibson HomewaresGot gift? Today no great guest brings just a bottle (boring), or flowers (feeble). Creative company brings on the bold, the beautiful, the gift that says “I get you.” And so, a few of our favorites… our recognition of stand-outs in gifting.
