Hublot and Cheval Blanc Randheli Reveal A Brand New Artistic Collaboration. Art is held dear by both Hublot and Cheval Blanc. The works of Vincent Beaurin have graced the walls of Cheval Blanc Randheli since its opening, an expression of a true creative identity. “The watch tells time and dilutes it in the colors of the crystal-clear waters of the Noonu Atoll,” explained Vincent Beaurin. Cheval Blanc Randheli is set in the beautiful Noonu Atoll In the northwest of the Maldives archipelago. In addition to elongated palm trees, tropical flowers, white sand banks, pristine turquoise water and fringing reefs, the atoll waters house a dazzling sampling of multicolour fish, rays and sea turtles.

ublot and Cheval Blanc Randheli have unveiled their latest collaboration, a new Classic Fusion special edition watch.
This collaboration follows the successful launch of the 2016 Special Edition: a perfect illustration of the savoirfaire of the Swiss watch manufacture and its constant quest for new fusions between time, art and luxury. The brand commissioned Parisian artist Vincent Beaurin, designer of the signature works of art at the Cheval Blanc Maison in the Maldives, to conceive the new creation.
According to Hublot the new watch is a timepiece tribute to the colours of the surrounding Noonu atoll, where the ocean’s dark blue contrasts beautifully with the limpid turquoise of the lagoon, all a reflection of the clear blue skies above. “Just like the blue waters surrounding Cheval Blanc Randheli, the captivating blue tones of the two new timepieces dedicated to the Maison create an appealing aura on the wrist, offering wearers a new experience with time,” says Ricardo Guadalupe, CEO of Hublot. The Classic Fusion 45mm Cheval Blanc Randheli Special Edition and Classic Fusion 38mm Cheval Blanc Randheli Special Edition are only available at the Cheval Blanc Randheli Concept Store, in the dedicated Hublot area that reflects the identity of the most iconic Hublot

T
his winter, pioneering luxury eco-resort Gili Lankanfushi is expanding the horizons of wellness experiences with a revolutionary new program of international visiting practitioners. The visiting practitioners will be hosting a range of holistic and progressive healing therapies ranging from energy flow and ayurveda to chi gung bodywork and salt therapy which will promote balance in body and soul. All of which will be offered in the spectacular over water surroundings of the island’s Meera Spa. Kick-starter of the new program of Visiting Practitioners is Fah Chanettee whom the resort is hosting this month. Fah’s healing therapies focus on stimulating the five senses, promoting energy flow along the bladder meridian, balancing the chakras through color therapy, healing energy and aura imbalance. For over 10 years in the wellness field, Fah had explored naturally motivated approaches from around the world, including herbal medicine and nutrition, a wide range of eastern and western massage techniques as well as holistic, energy healing and Ayurvedic therapies such a Abhyanga and Shirobhyanga, Mukha-Shirodara, Indian Head massage, Reflexology Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Aromatherapy, Reiki, Aura-Somo (the language of colour) and Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP). Fah’s healing therapies center on the philosophy that as we learn to understand the body, we create the ability to listen to body’s innate intelligence. The wellness program conducted by Fah Chanettee will last for a month and includes therapies such as: Five Senses Sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch are basic perception to sense the world around us. Stimulating all senses will promote their ability to become more sensitive and intelligent. Focusing on face and skull areas by using pull, pinch and press techniques along with exceptional herbal oil to enhance all senses while relieving stress, migraine and facial sculpture from muscle tension. Back Moving From the belief of traditional Chinese medicine, the Bladder Meridian is the longest and the most complex Yang meridian. It starts from the eyelid and travels across the head, then goes down along the spine. Uses cupping, moving on the back to separate skin and muscle that stimulate parasympathetic nervous system. This will create energy flow along Bladder Meridian, giving you a calm and peaceful sensation. It also helps to relieve tension and symptoms such as headache,
backache and urinary problems. ME Remedy Muscle tension is caused by many factors. For example, a typical backache might happen from back muscle itself, but many times it comes from legs and abdominal muscle. Knowing the right cause helps to deal effectively with the problem. Consultation to personalize your body remedy, by combining the diversity of massage skills and techniques to release and relieve symptoms for well-being. Go with the Flow Specialized form of massage that improves your body’s fluid (blood and lymph) circulation. Promote transport system, which passes oxygen and nutrients through the tissues, while removing waste products from the body. Uses MLD technique as well as light, rhythmical and very precise hand movements, pressures and sequences on neck, face and legs. The massage works at skin level to influence the direction and speed of fluid flow. Tummy Truth You might not know that the stomach is our second brain! If you have ever “gone with your gut” to make a decision or felt “butterflies in your stomach” when nervous, you are likely getting signals from an unexpected source: your second brain. Hidden in the walls of digestive system, this “brain in your gut” is revolutionizing medicine’s understanding of the links between digestion, mood, health and even the way you think. Pressure applied over the abdominal area will physically stimulate and function the digestive system and second brain. Not only does it relieve tension and improve lymph flow, but your emotions will also be purified. Colouring Chakra Color therapy to balance the vibration and energy of chakras that have been disturbed by disease or distress. Each chakra controls particular organs, which have their own color. Consultation to explore inner balance in order to match the colors that suit you. Works with visual and non-visual energies of the color to reflect and balance each individual’s personal light body. This results in the promotion of inner peace and healing of aura and energy imbalance as well as helps in restoring physical well-being. Mirror Mirror Have you ever noticed that your feet look a lot like your body figure? Actually your body and feet reflect each other like the mirror. Certain parts of the foot reflect certain parts of your body. By working on the feet, you are treating your whole body. Using thumb and finger pressure on reflect points will create homeostasis and
body healing itself. For the best result, personalized advice will be provided after each session. According to Gililankan Fushi the innovative well being offering will continue into 2018, bringing together some of the wellness world’s leading practitioners on Gili Lankanfushi for a year-long wellness program at Meera Spa, with the full line-up of VPs to be announced later in 2017. In addition the work of the Visiting practitioners will be complementing Meera Spa’s long-term Masters in Residence, experts in kundalini therapy bodywork and pain relief therapy, respectively. Master in residence Esther Bitongan Balaodan practices kundalini therapy bodywork, harnessing kundalini energy and working through the chakras to promote self-awareness, reduce stress and facilitate physical and mental healing. Gili Lankanfushi also offers complimentary daily sunrise yoga classes at the beach side Yoga Champa, as well as one-on-one yoga, meditation and visualization practices with the spa team. Devendra Prasad Pokhriyal, resident yoga and Ayurveda master, also specializes in pain relief therapy, using palm reflexology and ancient salt therapy to release deeplyheld tension from within the neck, back and shoulders, to optimize emotional health and promote mental well being. Set on the private island of Lankanfushi in the North Male Atoll, Gili Lankanfushi Maldives is an intimate coral island in a sparkling lagoon, with jetties threading across the water out to spacious villa accommodations, where ultimate privacy can be found. General Manager Amit Majumder comments: “The ice rink is a perfect expression of our goal to always wow guests. We have many guests who keep coming back to us and I often hear that one of the reasons for their returns is that they love to be surprised by our updates and developments each time they come. Baachy specialise in contemporary art and incorporates a special artistic technique which yields mesmerising design work that will leave Connoisseurs in an ecstatic frenzy of visual delight. The island Chief sits down with baachy as we ask him various questions on the art industry of the Maldives, the role it plays in the leading tourism industry of the country and of course about his artistic endeavours, plans and inspirations. Tell us about what you do? I am a hopeful artist. how did you first venture into art? I have always loved art. From a very young age I have been drawing and always been lost within a myriad of colours and exploring different ways to bring out my imaginative view of the world into something more substantial through my work. Tell us a little a bit about your style of art? I have no strict disciple where art is concerned, I explore various mediums and styles for my art work. That said lately I have been exploring contemporary work and have been really enjoying the results. where do you draw inspiration from when you produce art ? My art draws inspiration from life and the events that unfold with it. Some people express their creativity and inspiration in the form of writing where as I produce Art.
Being an artist is not always easy and I imagine you must have overcome a lot of challenges inorder to be where you are now. tell us about some of the challenges you have overcome as an artist and as a person to be where you are today? I have been a lone artist mostly. I didn’t have an audience. I didn’t know how to venture out and share my art with people. I made lots of paintings and most of what I have done are always hanging in a resort room, or a safari. Art has always been away of depicting my emotions. Do you have any philosophies or specific motivations that drive you to do what you do? My love for the abstract! How far do you think art has the potential to work hand in hand with the tourism industry of the Maldives? It is almost interrelated to the world of tourism. Art brings style, culture and tradition. The relationship between art and Maldivian tourism has been close since tourism began and tourists have had very frequent contact with art of various times of Maldives. How do you feel about the recognition that Maldives receives for its artistic innovation and its future? I don’t think we are recognised as much as we deserve to be. But with the blessing of god, I wish to see a future where both old and young artists of Maldives get the opportunity to participate in various artistic forums and showcase their talent to the wider community of the nation and to the world it self. What are your goals for the future? I want to be a recognised artist in the Maldives and I want people to appreciate art. I have some exiting plans ready for the future and I am confident that it will be received well. That said I hope for continued support and encouragement to make my ideals truly come to light. I have an upcoming exhibition, which I hope will be one of the biggest national exhibitions in the Maldives.
I would also like to thank iphpha who was truly a pinnacle figure for my ventures into the artistic world. Finally A big Thank you goes out to the Island Chief and team for their interest in my work and for their dedicated support towards my career. Finally a big thank you goes out my loving mother, toma, hahthu, faisal and umar. Is there any advice you would like to share with the artists of tomorrow (rising -artists)? You may think there is no future and people will not really accept your art as it is but I feel there is more acceptance now and people are interested in various forms of art. My message to all the artists of our nation is to keep trying and to work hard with good will and heart and by gods blessing everything will work out for the best. What are your interests aside from work?
Is there anyone or a group of people that has been extremely supportive towards your career and that you might like to extend your gratitude towards? The whole of the Maldives Art Community, Friends who have always been at my side supporting me to keep on moving forwards and My sister who is my rock and my “lulu.
Aside from art, watch movies and I am a keen on various artistic movies. Water World was my favourite as a child. I could go on and on about it and my sister loves hearing about it
