Gil Treger (below left, 26 and works in real estate management) and Leon Treger (27 and an operations manager at Lyft) envisioned throwing their wedding somewhere totally unexpected—and their search took them to The Hamptons. “The Parrish Art Museum’s open walls gave guests the opportunity to feel the nature outside, while the roof enclosure made the space more intimate,” Gil says. “We wanted the wedding to mimic a romantic forest— one where two men could magically fall in love.” Though tradition took center stage, unconventional details also shined. Take the set list: Israeli-Jewish music transitioned to Latin and Middle Eastern hits, then hip-hop turned up the after-party. —RS

CENTERPIECES Privet-filled glass cylinders towered over mirrored tables.

RECEPTION An “organic waterfall” of smilax hung above the reflective dance floor. CEREMONY BACKDROP Leon dreamed of marrying under a lemon tree rather than a chuppah, so they crafted their own. Roses, lemon leaves and ivy surrounded the base, and lemons filled the canopy. Birch, weeping willow, twisted wisteria and ivy made up the trunk. ESCORT CARDS “We designed the place cards in a unique shape to look like wood, to embody the art and architecture that make the museum so magnificent,” Gil says. RITUALS “Our program described the proceedings because it was our guests’ first Orthodox Jewish gay ceremony,” Gil says. They broke glass and partook in the seven blessings. HORS D’OEUVRES Guests sampled salmon with mango-chipotle glaze, three types of carpaccio and more.
