divine chocolate and prune souffle cake
This recipe gives you a rich moist dessert, serve with whipped cream, quick and easy. (Tried and Tested by Lisa Pilgrim for many dinner parties - and will be perfect for a romantic night in too) 8 - 10 Prunes 100g Unsalted Butter 2 Tablespoons of Brandy 4 eggs, separated 225g Dark plain Chocolate 100g Caster Sugar • Pre- heat oven to 180 C / 350 F / Gas 4. You will need a 15-20cm loose bottomed cake tin lined and dusted with flour. • Soak the prunes in warmed brandy until plump and soft. Melt the butter and chocolate over a pan of bubbling water, then allow to cool • Whisk egg yolks and sugar together until pale and thickened • Fold in egg yolk mixture, making sure both are at room temperature • Whisk the egg whites until they form soft peaks and fold into the mixture • Pour into your cake tin and bake for 30 minutes until risen Once removed from the oven the cake will sink a little but be deliciously gooey inside. Leave to cool for a few minutes then serve whilst still warm. Accompany with whipped cream and dust with icing sugar.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Stephen Chbosky Always being on the periphery and one of life’s observers certainly may seem to have its advantages. Fifteen year old Charlie is the ‘wallflower’ in question and through a series of letters, reveals his fears about starting high school. Unusually for him, he is quickly befriended by a Senior called Patrick and becomes ingratiated into his group. Far from being another lighthearted high-school novel, the book tackles issues such as homophobia and incest. Charlie has a tough road ahead of him as he tries to come to terms with his past and learn to embrace his future.
