Fabergé and James Bond reveal the first in a series of jewellery and objet collections celebrating the 007 archive. Available to purchase and pre-order from 25th March 2024, the debut Fabergé x 007 capsule collection is inspired by the iconic James Bond film Octopussy (1983) and includes a hand-crafted limited-edition egg objet, and special edition egg surprise locket. This unique collection is set to delight both admirers and collectors of Fabergé and James Bond.
Easter 2024 sees the Fabergé x 007 partnership turn the page to its next chapter, following the initial partnership announcement in 2022 that revealed the forthcoming one-of-a-kind Fabergé x 007 Egg Objet. The first in a series, each collection will take inspiration from a James Bond film. It was perfectly fitting that the debut collection takes inspiration from the iconic Octopussy (1983), which featured a plot line centred around an elaborate Fabergé egg heist.
The first pieces to be revealed in the Fabergé x 007 Octopussy collection are the Fabergé x 007 Limited Edition Octopussy Egg Objet and Fabergé x 007 Special Edition Octopussy Egg Surprise Locket. Designed by Fabergé Head of Design, Liisa Tallgren, and overseen by Fabergé Creative Director, Josina von dem Bussche-Kessell, the design of these pieces is a symphony of past, present and future, with nods to the legendary Octopussy film.
The hand-crafted Fabergé x 007 Limited Edition Octopussy Egg Objet is limited to just 50 numbered pieces and stands at 8.4cm tall, crafted from 18k yellow gold and hand-painted with a rich green enamel, carefully selected for its similarity to the enamel used on the Fabergé egg featured in the film Octopussy. A mesmerising pattern is visible underneath the lustrous enamel – a combination of Fabergé’s signature guilloché, accompanied by an intricate artwork of engraved octopus tentacles which mysteriously wrap around the egg. These tentacles feature minute detail, and provide a level of depth and intrigue to the piece. The application is a highly skilled technique which takes absolute precision and patience, and is so complex that one week’s work is reserved for this alone. The egg is mounted on a stand which is reminiscent of that featured on the Fabergé egg from the film, set with white diamonds and blue sapphires.
Bits of Glitz
At the centre of the egg your eye is drawn into the gold 007 logo, which marks the point of entry into discovering the signature Fabergé surprise hidden within. The egg opens to reveal an 18k yellow gold octopus nestled inside, adorned with white diamond suckers and black diamond eyes. The octopus surprise pays homage to the eponymous antagonist at the centre of the Octopussy film. This is also a nod to Peter Carl Fabergé, who was renowned for his quirky little animal studies, both created as charms and as ornaments in hardstone. The accentuation of specific characteristics of each subject also gave them distinctive personalities. Fabergé combined these hardstones with precious metals and gems, seamlessly integrating each with the other to create miniature works of art; this octopus will be one to add to the history books.
“Whilst work is continuing on the development of a largescale one-of-a-kind Fabergé x 007 Egg Objet, we’re very proud to be unveiling this Octopussy capsule collection. Continuing our special partnership with EON Productions and the James Bond franchise we decided the surprise inside this first capsule collection had to be an octopus, in dedication to the eponymous antagonist at the heart of the film. ‘Octopussy’ is a powerful businesswoman and jewel-smuggler who leads the all-female Octopus Cult, and her name derives from her favourite octopus, the Blue Ringed Octopus, which she keeps as a pet. The octopus surprise inside the Fabergé x 007 Egg Objet and Egg Surprise Locket encapsulates her strong character”. Josina von dem Bussche-Kessell, Fabergé Creative Director.
The very first Fabergé x 007 Limited Edition Octopussy Egg Objet has taken seven months to be created, and the piece has been brought to life by the hands of 12 specialists, working across nine individual crafts including spinning, dye stamping, casting, goldsmithing, guilloché engraving, hand-engraving, enamelling, setting and polishing.
With perfection comes patience, as each piece exemplifies the very finest craftsmanship and time-honoured techniques that Fabergé is renowned for. Each objet will take approximately six months to complete, passing through the hands of many skilled artisans at the workshop in Germany. The production of each egg objet is overseen by a Fabergé Workmaster who’s family have practiced the art of enamel for four generations.
Alongside the Fabergé x 007 Limited Edition Octopussy Egg Objet is the Fabergé x 007 Special Edition Octopussy Egg Surprise Locket. The exterior of the egg closely follows the design of the Fabergé egg featured in the film Octopussy, with a beautiful 18k gold lattice framework which is delicately set with blue sapphires and white diamonds in a floral-like design.
The egg’s surface features a geometric guilloché engraved pattern, to juxtapose the more organic shape of the egg, and each piece has been decorated with green enamel to perfectly pair with the egg objet. Subtle nods are woven into the design, including the bail of the locket which takes its inspiration from the letter ‘O’ in the film’s title treatment.
In true Fabergé style, the beautiful egg locket also offers a surprise – opening to reveal a miniature 18k gold octopus inside, capturing the spirit of the film’s namesake. The octopus has been set with two black diamond eyes.
”The Fabergé x 007 Octopussy Egg Surprise Locket closely follows the design of the Fabergé egg that was featured in the film Octopussy. I introduced a different style of guilloché underneath the enamel which works better with the scale and size of the egg locket. The geometric style guilloché engraving perfectly complements the intricate latticework of the piece, and feels contemporary. I also wanted to incorporate the iconic letter ‘O’ from the Octopussy film’s title treatment in a playful way, which you can see featured as the bail on the piece”. AZIMUT GETS EVEN MORE GRANDE WITH THE UNVEILING OF THE PROJECT OF GRANDE 44M, THE NEW FLEET FLAGSHIP
Presented at the Palm Beach International Boat Show, Azimut’s new flagship – the Low Emission Yacht Grande 44M – has a concept and exterior styling by Alberto Mancini and interiors by m²atelier, working with the Shipyard for the first time. Five units sold in advance of the launch.
Azimut charts a course for the future and unveils the project of the new fleet flagship – Grande 44M – at the Palm Beach International Boat Show. The largest model ever built by the Shipyard is also an expression of its mission to marry technological innovation, visionary design and a focus on environmental sustainability.
Grande 44M amazes by offering something that doesn’t exist today: a superyacht with reduced CO2 emissions that brings bold, flowing lines to a design with four decks rather than the traditional three, embracing and sculpting significant volumes. She’s a boat that offers a unique and unexpected onboard lifestyle for this segment. The stand-out feature? The Upper Deck, which can be converted into an Owner’s Deck with uninterrupted sea views both forward and astern.

The concept underpinning the innovative styling – created by Azimut in partnership with Alberto Mancini – is the decision to move the helm station to the fourth deck, freeing up the Upper Deck so that it can be transformed into an Owner’s Deck featuring the master suite and a private terrace offering spectacular views. Aft, Grande 44M reproposes the Mezzanine Deck with Sea View Terrace that was central to the success of Grande Trideck. On Grande 44M, this stage overlooking the sea is made even more unique by the See Through Pool, with its plays on transparency that establish continuous contact with the water and generate reflections that give the beach club an even more magical feel.
The new layout means that architecture firm m²atelier –working with Azimut for the first time – could create an interior design that balances functionality and aesthetics, making the owners’ experience central and offering versatile settings to configure according to how they like to spend their time with family and friends.
The forward section of Grande 44M’s Upper Deck can be fitted out as a media room for guests or reserved for the owner, or alternatively as a dining area with veranda accommodating 12 people. In both cases, almost two-meter-long windows on either side provide open views outside, where a lounge area in the bow with a small firepit offers a cozy space from which to watch the sun set over the water. It’s a lifestyle aspired to by everyone who loves the sea.
Water is the key element in the narrative told by m²atelier, capturing its essence and giving back fluidity, dynamism and reflections. m²atelier, a firm with an international reputation for creative projects in multiple sectors – from residences and hotels to retail and product design – brings as a distinctive signature for Azimut a clear message, accented by refined, subtle, whispered details that seduce with a discreet simplicity completely free of affectation or overemphasis.
Grande 44M is not only a design and lifestyle masterpiece, but also a highly advanced naval architecture project and a new milestone in the green course charted by Azimut. The yacht is also the flagship of the Shipyard’s family of Low Emission Yachts, models that offer a reduction of between 20 and 30% in emissions compared to more traditional naval architectures of the same size. The innovative naval platform of Grande 44M is based on a Dual Mode hull, the introduction of the Hull Vane® foil technology and the Mild Hybrid Plus Zero Emission Hotel Mode system.
The Dual Mode hull, developed in partnership by P.L. Ausonio Naval Architecture and the Azimut R&D department, represents the union of two types of conventional hull: the bow section is typical for fast displacement boats, while the part from midships to the stern has a chine commonly found on planing hulls. This results in a hull that allows a considerable reduction in fuel consumption and emissions at every speed range.
The foil technology is installed for the first time on an Azimut yacht thanks to the collaboration between Hull Vane, Dutch company global leader in the design of advanced hydrodynamic solutions, and the Azimut|Benetti Group R&D Department which has gained a great experience in the design and production of carbon components. The Hull Vane® carbon wing fitted to the stern of Grande 44M is able to suppress the stern wave and generate forward thrust, providing further reduction in overall drag as well as damping of pitch, sway, and roll in navigation.
The ability to combine onboard comfort with a focus on environmental sustainability is a stand-out feature of the designs developed by Azimut, which now already offers six models that can be fitted with a Zero Emission Hotel Mode system, making it possible to stay at anchor for from 4 to 8 hours with the generators off. On Grande 44M this technology achieves maximum efficiency in combination with the Mild Hybrid Plus system, a new level of electrification developed by Azimut|Benetti Group R&D in partnership with Asea Nautica.
The Mild Hybrid Plus Zero Emission Hotel Mode system is the only solution today that makes it possible to cruise with the generators off and all loads connected, as well as producing a surplus of energy used to recharge the battery pack.

Evolving timeless design
The design intent for new Plus Four has been to simplify and reduce visual noise, allowing the timeless silhouette of Plus Four to be further celebrated. The front and rear views are characterised by the introduction of new lighting, wings, front splitter, rear diffuser, and floating front and rear number plate plinths. These changes culminate in a refreshed visual identity and an overall cleaner appearance.
The new front and rear lights – manufactured exclusively for Morgan – have been conceived by the company’s in-house design and engineering teams and are free from the constraints that a readily available lighting unit imposes. The introduction of the new front and rear lights is evidence of the company’s wider ethos of enhancing usability and quality, whilst maintaining the timeless appeal that is synonymous with the brand.
The new 8” headlight has subtly grown in diameter over previous models by 1-inch, helping to return the more traditional proportions of Plus Four –which grew slightly when moving to the CX-Generation Aluminium Platform in 2020. The new headlight design incorporates the front indicator, allowing for the removal of separately mounted
indicator units, this feature is also reflected within the rear lights. Both front and rear lights emit a more powerful and higher-quality light source than previous models.
The front and rear wings on new Plus Four have been entirely reformed and are now constructed using a cold forming technique. Whilst the changes are deliberately subtle, they feature a greater level of surfacing, influencing the way in which light reflects over the wing profile, adding tension and evoking a more sculpted volume.
To coincide with the introduction of new front and rear wings, the latest Plus Four features a new front splitter and a new rear diffuser, both of which feature a floating number plate plinth. Both the front splitter and rear diffuser are finished in dark
matte grey paint to reduce visibility and lift the visual weight of the car. This feature harks back to period Morgan sports cars, many of which featured no front undertray or bumpers, thus creating a pronounced horizontal line at the lower section of the wings and central cowl.
A new model badge features Morgan’s own H.F.S. Bold typeface. Inspired by car badges that used italicised typefaces and repeating speed lines, the badge is a contemporary interpretation of classic automotive brand design.
Both the rear-view mirror and wing mirrors are new. Each has been designed in-house and is manufactured exclusively for Morgan. Far surpassing the engineering integrity, functionality and aesthetic qualities of previous mirrors, the new
units are made from lightweight aluminium and are homologated for all existing markets. Whilst subtle, the meticulous attention-to-detail and rigorous testing process of the new mirrors represents the level of detail upon which the company is now operating.

“The wings have been entirely reformed with a greater level of intelligent surfacing to control highlights and add poise. Our new headlights feature the latest illumination technology yet were born of a desire to address a more traditional and balanced frontal proportion. Our new mirrors are now formed of beautifully machined aluminium. Strategic design simplification has reduced visual distraction and celebrates enhanced quality at a component level throughout.”
Pure Driving Enjoyment
Plus Four prioritises driving feel above performance figures and lap times. The company’s engineering team pursue dynamic performance that rewards the driver, giving them a greater connection to the car and the road ahead. Plus Four is available in manual and automatic transmission variants and is powered by the latest BMW 2.0 litre engine. The latest Plus Four features a change to the standard suspension consisting of new spring rates and re- valved dampers. In addition, an optional Dynamic Handling Pack – extensively developed alongside suspension experts, Nitron, – will be available from launch. The Dynamic Handling Pack is manufactured exclusively for Morgan and includes new springs with single way adjustable damping and adjustable spring platform, as well as the addition of a rear anti-roll bar. These changes help to deliver a greater level of dynamic performance and, like the Plus Four overall, aim to deliver driving feel and enjoyment.
Enhancing occupant interaction with Plus Four has been a primary focus for the company’s design and engineering teams, and is consistent with the ethos of blending tradition with appropriate modern technology. Specific updates for Plus Four include the Sennheiser audio system, enhancements to the LCD screen and dashboard, new interior illumination, and a new key fob. These changes enhance the user experience, seamlessly integrating with the vehicle without detracting from its timeless appeal.
The lightweight Sennheiser audio system, first introduced to Plus Four in 2022, has been enhanced for the latest Plus Four. The enhanced system utilises additional ‘invisible’ speakers in the cockpit, specifically underneath both seats, and higher-specification conventional speakers within the doors. As with the previous iteration of the audio system, Sennheiser’s tuning creates the magical illusion of a broad sound stage in front of the passengers, providing a high-quality soundtrack, and now an even greater range of volume and increased Bluetooth range.
The visual identity of the Sennheiser premium audio system is maintained thanks to the speaker grilles located on each door. The grille design takes inspiration from the iconic louvres that are stamped into each bonnet of a Plus Four, and feature the Sennheiser logo.
Plus Four drivers will now possess greater control to influence the audio choice with new track pause and skip functionality, operated using the existing volume control dial – therefore removing the need for additional switches. Volume display and track ID will be shown on the LCD screen, situated between the temperature and fuel dials in front of the steering wheel. Further changes to the LCD screen include a range of visual enhancements to graphics, whilst all dashboard button lights are finished in white.
Reflecting the changes to exterior lighting, new interior lighting helps to illuminate the elegant cockpit of Plus Four. Using higher-quality lighting modules and more intelligent programming, the illumination experience has been enhanced, and features fade-in-fade-out technology. The position, direction, and configuration, of all lighting has been meticulously designed and evaluated to achieve the optimum scenario for occupants.

Plus Four, a legacy
First introduced in 1950 at the Earl’s Court Motor Show in London, the Plus 4 has proven to be one of the company’s most popular models. Named Plus 4 due to its increased power over the 4-4 – the first fourwheeled Morgan – which was introduced in 1936. For the first four years of its life, the Plus 4 featured a ‘flat’ radiator and cycle wings. From 1954, however, the ‘cowl radiator’ design was introduced. This is the timeless silhouette that has become synonymous with Morgan, and the design proportions that today’s Plus Four continues.
Thousands of examples have been produced throughout its life, with exports proving popular to all key markets including the USA. It was a Plus 4 that won its class at the 1962 Le Mans 24 Hours race, the company’s most notable motorsport triumph. A Plus 4 was the first car owned by Ralph Lauren and, to this day, features in his collection – one of the most revered automotive collections in the world. Its centrality within the story of Morgan is unquestionable.
21st Century Coachbuilding
Like every four-wheeled Morgan produced today, Plus Four combines a blend of traditional craftsmanship and appropriate modern technology, a philosophy which the company refers to as ‘21st Century Coachbuilding’. This philosophy flows throughout the company and influences its approach to designing and engineering each model, as well as the way in which every vehicle is
constructed. As part of this philosophy, all models benefit from continued development and incremental improvements throughout, ensuring that the quality of each model is reflective of a modern-day sports car. Reflecting these advances, the warranty on Plus Four is now three years, with the option to extend for a further 12 months.
Each aluminium body is handformed over an ash wood frame. This body, which is beautifully made using age-old techniques handed down through generations, is seamlessly married to an ultra-modern aluminium platform with the latest braking, suspension, and electronic systems.
The finest Scottish leather, itself a by-product of the food and agricultural sectors, is used sparingly within the cockpit of Plus Four. This leather is trimmed into each car using traditional techniques and tools. By the nature of the model’s hand-crafted manufacture, natural materials are used sparingly with minimal waste produced.
Bespoke As Standard
At Morgan, there is no ‘bespoke’ department. Every Plus Four that enters production is bespoke as standard. Beyond the almost endless combination of colourways and options available to configure, prospective owners can go beyond this and request additional materials and features for their new Plus Four. This approach ensures that every Plus Four built is a true ‘one-off’ and is as individual as its owner.
Availability
The new Morgan Plus Four is available to order now, with the first models going into production in May 2024. Prospective clients can expect to test drive a new Plus Four at UK and European dealerships starting
from June, and are encouraged to register interest with their nearest Morgan dealership or through the official Morgan website. Morgan is currently working with the United States authorities to achieve homologation for the new Plus Four. Whilst there are no timescales for entry, the company
is in advanced stages of approvals and is confident it will meet all requirements. This will be the first four-wheeled Morgan to achieve homologation in the United States since 2006.

Could you please share with us the journey of how you transitioned from blending whiskies to curating The Vault’s collection?
The process of identifying and selecting the very first collection of casks to be safeguarded in The Vault by Chivas Brothers has felt like a natural extension of my day-to-day role. As Director of Blending and Inventory for Chivas Brothers, I have an incredibly wide remit; in addition to blending and crafting Scotch whiskies, I am also responsible for our incredible cask inventory, new product development, spirit quality cask purchase, stock planning, and much more. These responsibilities mean it’s nothing but imperative that I know every intimate detail of our vast inventory of highaged casks. And so, drawing on this knowledge and experience when it came to cask selection for The Vault wasn’t a transition as such, but a natural next step. It’s important to say that I also benefit from having a fantastic team around me, and that includes Kevin Balmforth – our dedicated Cask Expert at Chivas Brothers. Kevin and I worked very closely together to combine and compare notes from our decades of experience in the industry to be absolutely confident that our final handpicked selection of fourteen casks for The Vault was the perfect choice.
What criteria do you use when hand-picking casks for The Vault, considering its reputation for exceptionally rare and sought-after whiskies?
Well, you’re absolutely right – The Vault by Chivas Brothers is reserved for only the rarest and most sought-after whiskies from across our portfolio, and so this was the most crucial guardrail to how we approached our selection. Luckily, we had a fantastic starting point because Chivas Brothers has an extremely extensive inventory of high-aged whiskies.
There are so many factors behind what makes a whisky particularly coveted or rare, and so it was important for us to ensure the breadth and depth of this inventory was accounted for within the final selection. For example, we have casks sourced from now ghost distilleries, through to experimental cask finishes, and casks where the alchemy of time has created a whisky with wholly unique characteristic and heritage.
How do you ensure that each whisky showcased in The Vault maintains its unique heritage while appealing to modern whisky enthusiasts?
I truly believe that it’s because of their unique heritage that they appeal to whisky enthusiasts – modern or otherwise. The history and individual story behind each cask that we have identified as being worthy for The Vault, means that it brings with it a whisky holding a completely unique flavour profile, which in turn delivers a memorable tasting experience.
History and heritage are unwavering persuaders for any whisky lover because it’s essential to appreciate the powerful role that time plays in crafting high-quality Scotch whiskies. Celebrating heritage was a huge focus in our approach to curating the offering within The Vault. In addition to cask history, I think what particularly appeals to the modern buyer is the experience that comes with stepping inside The Vault itself. It really is an astonishing setting, where you are fully immersed in the sounds and scents of our historic working distillery in Strathisla, to have some of Chivas Brothers’ rarest and most desired whiskies at your fingertips.
Could you walk us through the process of sourcing casks for The Vault and the challenges involved in selecting only the most exceptional ones?
It was a lengthy and meticulous process but also a highly collaborative one between myself and our Cask Expert, Kevin. Between us, we come equipped with over 60 years of experience and cask knowledge, and so we spent a lot of time sampling casks, debating on a wide range of topics from heritage to tasting profile, and then revisiting and scrutinising our choices to be confident that the final selection of fourteen is spot on and well balanced.
We wanted each cask to bring its own unique attribute, and for all fourteen to complement each other within
The Vault. In all honesty, one of the biggest challenges was whittling it down to just fourteen! Both Kevin and I have spent a phenomenal amount of time over the years monitoring in detail and nurturing the millions of high-aged casks across Chivas Brothers’ inventory that are maturing over numerous locations, so being asked to shortlist to fourteen is a little like asking a parent to pick a favourite child!
With your background in blending, how do you approach the task of preserving the integrity of each whisky’s flavour profile within The Vault’s collection?
Reflecting on my background and how it has contributed to my role today, I always have to have a little chuckle, because my entry into the industry was a complete fluke after my father spotted an opportunity for me to take a local job back in 1983. But actually, that very first role was as a Quality Controller, and my manager at the time saw that I showed a natural aptitude for assessing, examining and nosing samples. This was a fabulous grounding to have. Fast-forward over forty years later and I’m still applying those skills with a meticulous attention to detail in my role today. All fourteen casks within The Vault are regularly checked to ensure their remarkable character is sustained, and we can be confident in the continued excellence of the
blend inside. At Chivas Brothers, we have an unwavering commitment to excellence and an emphasis on quality at all times, and with casks as rare and precious as those in The Vault, there are absolutely no exceptions.
What sets The Vault apart from other luxury tasting experiences in terms of both selection process and presentation?
It’s the unique multisensory experience that comes with cask exploration inside The Vault. The Vault lies on the grounds of Strathisla Distillery, and the renovation is truly remarkable. The team have done a great job to make every detail of the space absolutely perfect, and every visit to The Vault memorable. Every guest who steps inside The Vault - whether interested in learning more about Scotch, tasting unique samples, or looking to purchase and own a cask like no other - will be guided on a personalised exploration of our whiskies, entirely bespoke to their individual palate. The experience starts with a private visit of Strathisla Distillery, followed by a walk-through of Chivas Brothers’ incredible history with our archivist, before stepping into The Vault’s whisky library. This room is home to a bespoke selection of over 240 exclusive samples, including distillates, high-aged whiskies and one-off rarities, which we will draw from to lead guests through a fully personalised tasting. Once we’ve discovered their preferred taste profile, we will finish the experience by entering the chambers of The Vault itself to discover their perfect match cask and enjoy a final dram.
Could you share any memorable experiences or discoveries you’ve had while curating The Vault’s collection?
What I found most exciting in the whole process was to draw samples from casks maturing in our warehouses that I sampled as new distillate decades ago, before they were put into casks for aging. It is amazing to have seen the whole maturation process from beginning to end on such a long journey. Another memo-

rable experience was curating the 240 samples for the whisky library, it was extremely enjoyable to delve into our rich inventory to find samples of all ages to showcase the breadth and quality of our stocks.
How do you see The Vault evolving in the future, both in terms of its collection and the experience it offers to whisky enthusiasts?
We set up The Vault with a long-term vision in mind. Once a cask is sold, Kevin and I will reassess Chivas Brothers’ extensive reserve of high-aged casks and together hand-pick an exceptional new cask worthy of safe-guarding within The Vault. Having this level of human touch at its heart will enable us to keep our offering at the forefront of evolving trends and preferences. We live and breathe the Scotch industry every minute of the day, exploring new ways to delicately balance heritage with innovation, and we’ll continue bringing that depth of knowledge, passion, and curiosity to our curation of casks within The Vault for many, many years to come.
What advice would you give to someone looking to start their collection of highaged Scotch whiskies, inspired by the treasures found in The Vault?
I love this question because outside of whisky, I am an avid collector of watches (amongst other things too!) and have been building up my collection over many
years. When I look across the different categories, I firmly believe that starting a whisky collection has all the similarities to starting any other collection; it’s important to identify which individual attributes are most important to you. Is it shape-shifting innovation that whets your appetite, do you value a storied heritage behind an item, or is it a deep appreciation for time-tested craftsmanship? You can have real fun unpicking these elements and building a collection around it, and this would be my advice for anyone investing in a cask within The Vault, as a collector’s item. Each of the fourteen casks brings their own unique attributes: the Longmorn 30-Year-Old 1st fill American Oak barrel comes with a story so unique it would be owning a true piece of whisky history, while the Royal Salute 27-Year-Old 1st fill Sherry Hogshead is a fantastic demonstration of experimental blending techniques, using a complex cask finish. Ultimately, I think it’s important to find your own language within whisky. Don’t be led by other people’s descriptors because we all have our own unique frame of reference on what we appreciate and prefer. Respecting this individuality is what is really special about The Vault, because each guest will be guided on a personalised exploration of our whiskies, entirely bespoke to their individual palate. This means that any whisky collector, new or experienced, will be able to understand their own whisky preference, and be guided to the perfect cask match for them. A dram will be served for tasting, drawn directly from the cask. It really is a one-of-a-kind experience!

Could you share with us what drew you to Sunseeker and how your 23 years of experience with the brand has shaped your understanding of luxury yachting?
I am originally from Poole in Dorset, the hometown of Sunseeker in the UK. Growing up there, I would often visit this restaurant with my parents, and from the car park, we could see these boats being built and tested. It’s like I had a front-row seat to the Sunseeker scene, which I believe made a big impression on me at an early age!
I joined the Royal Navy at the age of xx and started traveling all over the world. Everywhere I went, I’d spot Sunseeker boats - in Brazil, Hong Kong, the Mediterranean, you name it. It was like they were following me around, calling me to be a part of their world. Coincidentally, after many years at sea, a long-term friend called me up, who had just started selling the Sunseeker brand in Mallorca and invited me to see what he was doing and the possibilities being a part of the Sunseeker team could offer.
The next week I gave my notice to the Royal Navy and started the second chapter of my working career - still on the water but with a very different clientele – and a lot more fun!
What really resonated with me about Sunseeker is this whole idea of the “Sunseeker Family.” The founder, the late (and great) Robert Braithwaite, saw everyone involved - designers, builders, dealers, clients – as a part of this big family. It’s like this sense of community that runs through everything they do. And they even have this hashtag, #sunseekerfamily, where everyone can share their adventures. It’s all about sharing in those moments together.
Sunseeker is renowned for its exceptional craftsmanship and innovative designs. Can you highlight some key features of Sunseeker yachts that set them apart in the market?
The exterior profile and design of a Sunseeker is always eye-catching - they’re like personalised signatures on the water. You can spot one from a mile away, and each model has its own distinct character and identity. They are not like other brands where the design seems to stay the same no matter how big the boat gets.

Great question! It’s fascinating how Sunseeker have always stayed ahead of the curve when it comes to design trends and innovations. They’ve been like pioneers in the industry, introducing things like the first boat with an in-built tender garage and the first sports boat running on jets. It’s that kind of forward-thinking that sets them apart.
And now, with the world’s focus shifting towards environmental awareness and cost-effectiveness, there’s a growing demand for motor yachts that offer both comfort and efficiency at sea. That’s where Sunseeker’s Ocean range comes in. It’s all about giving boaters the best of both worlds - spaciousness and range, without compromising on luxury.
I’m really excited about the upcoming release of the Ocean 156 in September 2024. From what I’ve seen, it’s going to be an absolute game-changer. With its emphasis on comfort, space, and flexible layouts, not to mention its fantastic indoor-outdoor spaces, I have no doubt it’s going to be a huge hit. I think it’s going to be especially relevant for the Middle Eastern market.
As the Sales Director, you have a unique perspective on customer feedback. What are some common reasons customers choose Sunseeker yachts over other brands in the market?

Guests enjoyed an enhanced culinary experience with Guy Grossi’s famed and beloved food in the Committee Room by Grossi – MCG’s take on the European lunch clubs of old. Sophisticated, elegant and full of sprezzatura, showcasing the grandest of Italian cuisine, culture and style on a world class stage.
Following lunch, we were given a tour of the unique event spaces at the MCG including the Player’s Rooms, the boundary line, the esteemed MCC and The Australian Sports Museum.

The dinner commenced with an appetizer of Beetroot Carpaccio with Goat Cheese, and Walnut Dressing served with Fresh Rocket Leaves. This was followed by a sumptuous Cream of Cauliflower soup adorned with Golden Parmesan Crouton.
The main course featured a pan-seared salmon, served with a side of Yuzu Fennel, Baby Vegetables, and Potato Puree with Lemon Caper Sauce.
The meal concluded with a sweet note of Pear Crumble Tart and Mixed Berries Compote. This exquisite culinary journey was not just a meal, but a symphony of flavors and textures, designed to elevate the senses and enrich the experience of the attendees.
During the exquisite dinner, the atmosphere in the Saffron Ballroom shifted to one of eager anticipation as two representatives from Aldar Properties took the stage.
