JAEGER-LECOULTRE PRESENTS THE REVERSO ONE DUETTO JEWELLERY

The first watch to feature a rectangular case that can be turned over to protect its dial, the Reverso became a must-have almost immediately on its launch in 1931. Although originally conceived for polo players, this watch became recognised as a design icon, appealing to men and women from many walks of life, who embraced the originality of its design and the refinement of its Art Deco lines. Less than a year after its creation, feminine models of the Reverso appeared, subtly revisiting the original aesthetic codes: the rectilinear geometry of the reversible case with its bevelled triangular lugs, horizontal gadroons, and the chic simplicity of the dial.

A new expression of the alliance between Fine Watchmaking and High Jewellery

This year, in keeping with the pioneering spirit of La Grande Maison, which has created watches for women since its early days, Jaeger-LeCoultre presents two new expressions of the Reverso One. Cased in pink gold, they illustrate the union of Fine Watchmaking and High Jewellery down to the smallest detail. Expressing the

full potential of an icon that never ceases to inspire the watchmakers of La Grande Maison and the craftsmen of the Métiers Rares workshop, the case of the new Reverso One Duetto Jewellery is entirely set with diamonds. One model is complemented by a shiny black leather strap and the other by a pink gold bracelet entirely set with diamonds.

In 1997, Jaeger-LeCoultre introduced the Reverso Duetto, featuring two back-to-back dials, each with a set of hands driven by a single movement but turning in opposite directions in order to display the same time correctly on both sides – a complex mechanism that represented a technical achievement for the Manufacture’s watchmakers. For the new Reverso One Duetto Jewellery models, the hand- wound Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 844 – entirely developed and produced within the Manufacture – now promises 50 hours of power reserve.

dial concept in a new setting that is as rare as it is precious. With 335 grain-set diamonds that cover the entire case-back and wrap seamlessly around its curved sides to frame the dial, the case is unquestionably a piece of jewellery, emphasised by the inverted diamond set into the crown.

On the front, every detail of the silvered sunray dial with its guilloché decoration is delicately finished: the golden brackets in each corner, the applied Arabic hour numerals and hour markers, the Dauphine hands –all emblematic elements of the Reverso One models.

The reverse dial offers a striking contrast – dramatic and more mysterious. Enhanced by Art Deco-style gold hour markers – also emblematic of the collection – the black dial immediately catches the eye. Sprinkled across a background of glossy black lacquer, tiny gold flakes seem to form clusters of light particles, their radiance echoing the brilliance of the diamonds that adorn the case.

The Reverso One Duetto Jewellery raises the Duetto concept to even greater heights with a diamond- set bracelet – the first time that the case, bracelet attachment and bracelet links of a Reverso One have been fully gem-set. A total of 719 diamonds adorns this High Jewellery piece, including at least 384 for the bracelet alone.

To create the case and bracelet of the new Reverso One Duetto Jewellery, the gemsetters in Jaeger- LeCoultre’s Métiers Rares workshop used the grain-setting technique, anchoring the diamonds with tiny, almost invisible gold beads that give the precious stones an unparalleled sparkle. Setting four diamonds together in perfect symmetry within the tiny dimensions of each pink gold link is testament to the gemsetters’ mastery of their craft.

The new Reverso One Duetto Jewellery reaffirms the watchmaking expertise and jewellery savoir-faire that La Grande Maison has cultivated with passion for several decades.

ONE-OF-ONE GT SPEED CELEBRATES 20 YEARS OF CONTINENTAL SUCCESS AT MONTEREY CAR WEEK

Bentley Motors brought the 20th birthday celebrations of its now-iconic Continental GT to a close with the reveal and immediate sale of a one-of-one Continental GT Speed, with a specification inspired by that of the very first production Continental GT from 2003. The muse for the project – VIN20001, the first GT off the Crewe production line –was displayed alongside the 2023

version at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, also celebrating its 20th birthday and an ongoing part of Monterey Car Week.

Having redefined the Bentley brand for the 21st century when it was launched in 2003, catalysing a tenfold increase in sales, the Continental GT continues to be the benchmark for modern, luxury grand tourers.

The first production car – the most important modern car in Bentley’s rejuvenated Heritage Collection –was finished in Cypress Green paint, with an interior of Saddle leather upholstery and Burr Walnut veneer. The bespoke 2023 Continental GT Speed displays a specially commissioned interior inspired by that of its illustrious forbear.

While Saddle leather and Burr Walnut veneer feature in both cabins, the third-generation model features subtle enhancements of the original model’s theme. The rich Saddle colour is complemented by an accent hide in ‘Special Green’, with contrast stitching in the same shade throughout. The fascia and waist rails feature two different veneer finishes – open pore Dark Burr Walnut over high gloss Dark Burr Walnut – separated by a painted pinstripe in Cypress, connecting the interior with the exterior.

An extensive list of features includes the Blackline, Touring and Styling Specifications – together bringing polished black exterior brightware, a suite of technical enhancements and a carbon fibre front splitter, side skirts, diffuser and subtle boot lip spoiler respectively. Self-levelling Mulliner wheel badges finished the 22” Sports Wheels in unique Dark Grey Satin. The interior features Naim for Bentley audio and the Bentley Rotating Display, while the personalised treadplates read, ’20 years of the Continental GT by Bentley Mulliner’. Outline representations of the 2003 and 2023 Continental GTs feature on the fascia, centre console and outer sill. This celebratory one-of-one car has already been sold, was handed to its new owner at The Quail, and represents the highlight of four months of activities and events to celebrate this milestone in Bentley’s history.

20 Years and three generations

The impact of the first-generation Continental GT was seismic, not only redefining Bentley as a modern luxury brand but also creating a new market sector. The first allnew Bentley with no carried-over components since the original 3 Litre of 2019, the Continental GT was designed at the Crewe studio under then Design Director Dirk van Braeckel and Head of Exterior Design Raul Pires. The sleek lines of Bentley’s new grand tourer were

inspired by those of the 1952 R Type Continental, with a Bentley ‘powerline’ that starts low at the front and follows the shoulder line of the bonnet and door before meeting a muscular rear haunch. Twin round headlamps and a Bentley mesh grille gave a subtle nod to the company’s thunderous Le Mans-winning racers of the 1920s.

Under the bonnet was an all-new 6.0-litre twin-turbo 48-valve W12 engine. This compact, smooth and powerful design developed 550 bhp and 650 Nm, powering all four

wheels via a ZF six-speed automatic transmission. Acceleration from 0-62 mph took 4.8 seconds and top speed was a shade under 200 mph.

During the seven years the first-generation Continental GT remained in production it sired a family of models including the Continental GT Convertible, Continental Flying Spur, Continental GT Speed and Supersports.

Arrival of the V8

The second-generation Continental GT, launched in 6.0-litre W12 form at the Paris Motor Show in 2010, also saw the arrival of a

second all-new Bentley engine. The efficient and charismatic 4.0-litre V8, which made its debut in 2012, endowed the Continental GT with an eager, agile and responsive character, accompanied by a characterful V8 exhaust backbeat. In 2017 the line-up was joined by the limited edition 710PS Supersports, its conception inspired by the Team Bentley racing GT3.

2018: the third generation

Bentley’s third generation Continental GT was launched in 2018. An entirely new design, its sharper, sleeker

lines took full advantage of a new, purpose-designed platform. Even its W12 engine was all-new, paired with a new dual-clutch transmission. Highlights of the new model’s specification included three-chamber air springs and 48V electric active anti-roll control, while the onboard technology took a major leap forward thanks to all-new electrical architecture. It was simultaneously faster, more comfortable, more efficient and more luxurious than its predecessors – yet unmistakably still a Continental GT.

Around the world in 20 reviews

A Bentley ‘baton’, designed and created in house to represent the key lines of the Continental GT, visited Monterey to start a global journey - travelling in a variety of Continental GT models across Europe, the Middle East, China, Asia Pacific and the US before returning to Crewe. At journey’s end at Bentley’s Dream Factory in Crewe, the baton – which will contain 20 mementoes of the tour - will become a time capsule as a permanent reminder of a unique journey.

SWISS SERENITY: THE FATHER AND SON CREATING MEMORIES IN THEIR UNIQUE BUGATTI BABY II

The Little Car Company, makers of the limited-edition Bugatti Baby II, is delighted to see one of its Pur Sang models put to fascinating use in the scenic Swiss town of Oberägeri .

Dutch entrepreneur, Linferd Huismans, has been using his wonderfully personalised Bugatti Baby II to create unforgettable family memories with his four-year-old son. As soon as he collects his son from kindergarten, the pair drive on private roads in the Bugatti Baby II down to the picturesque lake of Oberägeri for an afternoon of fun.

The journey has become a regular feature of Linferd and his son’s week, as they make their way to the lake to spend some quality time together, whether that be exploring the lake or watching and feeding the fish. Of course, these trips wouldn’t be the same without their routine stop at the local ice cream parlour.

Linferd commissioned his Bugatti Baby II in a delightfully unique fashion, with a number of idiosyncratic flourishes making it truly his own. The Fierce Green exterior paintwork blends perfectly with the black leather interior, and as a Pur Sang model, the handformed aluminium bodywork is the result of 200 hours of skilled craftsmanship. With a custom varnish applied to the exterior, the touring pack bodywork glistens as Linferd and his son enjoy their lakeside drives.

With only 500 Bugatti Baby IIs being produced, each one must be recognisable and true to the owner, and Linferd had a specific design in mind for his car. A specially engraved filler cap denotes his Bugatti Baby II as ‘041 of 500’, while a special speed key, steering wheel and painted mirror enhance the distinctive nature of this reimagined icon. For a final flourish, custom brown leather straps adorn the exterior for a truly authentic aesthetic.

Discussing his bespoke Bugatti Baby II, Mr Huismans said: “When I pick my son up from playgroup, I’ll often ask, ‘do you want to go in the big race car or the small race car?’, and he’ll always say the small race car. So, we’ll both hop into the Bugatti Baby II and drive down to the lake and have an ice cream. We can spend an hour, half an hour, or sometimes lose track of time and spend the whole afternoon there.

“We share many days like this, and it’s also lovely to see the fascination of the other kids at his playgroup. They’ll often ask to sit in it, and I’ll see their parent’s face light up as we go for a spin.”

Ben Hedley, CEO of The Little Car Company, added: “For many of us, specific cars hold unbelievable sentimental value and are the centre of memories that stay with us for a lifetime. The cars we produce are no different and we are delighted to hear how Linferd

The Little Car Company hand builds the Bugatti Baby II at its Bicester factory, and the fully electrified reincarnation of the Type 35 Bugatti has been developed in collaboration with the iconic French marque, with the Baby II’s solid silver Bugatti Macaron a symbol of its authenticity.

THE NEW BATTISTA EDIZIONE NINO FARINA: TRIBUTE TO A RACING LEGEND SET FOR WORLD DYNAMIC DEBUT AT GOODWOOD FESTIVAL OF SPEED

Automobili Pininfarina is honouring a motorsport icon with an exclusive new limited-edition version of its award-winning electric hyper GT – the Battista Edizione Nino Farina.

The design edition will make its dynamic debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, where it will be piloted up the famous hill by former F1 star and hillclimb record holder, Nick Heidfeld. In his role as an advisor to Automobili Pininfarina, ‘Quick Nick’ has played a key role in the Battista story so far.

Following the success of the limited-edition Battista Anniversario, the latest model represents the fascinating story of F1 racing legend Nino Farina, the first ever F1 World Champion and nephew of design icon Battista ‘Pinin’ Farina. Fittingly, it will make its dynamic debut just a few hundred metres from the Goodwood Circuit, where Nino drove to victory in the 1951 Goodwood Trophy (a non-championship F1 race).

With just five examples to be crafted for clients worldwide, bespoke features adorning the exterior and interior of the Battista Edizione Nino Farina pay tribute to the racing legend born in Torino. Each car in the series

celebrates one of five milestones in Nino Farina’s incredible racing career, ensuring each collector will own a one-of-a-kind Italian design masterpiece.

Battista ‘Pinin’ Farina was the founder of the famous Carrozzeria Pininfarina. He is the namesake of Automobili Pininfarina’s first ever vehicle – the Battista – honouring his dream to create a solely Pininfarina-branded vehicle one day on the road.

As an uncle to Nino Farina, he was responsible for igniting the future World Champion’s passion for motorsport. Battista took his 16-year-old nephew to participate in his first ever race, as a passenger. This established his appetite for competition and Nino went on to take part in numerous races and championships across Italy in the 1930s.

In 1950, Nino Farina competed in the first Grand Prix races formally organised by the FIA – today’s Formula One World Championship – leading a three-car team. In his first year of World Championship driving, Nino Farina won the British (the first to be held at Silverstone), Swiss and Italian races, taking the overall World Championship in the process.

Nino Farina was a highly respected Formula One driver among his peers, noted for his fearless driving and passion for the sport – which contributed to his early F1 wins in his debut year. He led his teammates to a 1-2-3 finish at the very first race of 1950, at Silverstone, and completed the season by winning at the Italian Grand Prix in September.

Subtle detailing distinguishes each Edizione Nino Farina with the bespoke aluminium passenger door plate, anodised in black with one of five unique designs, ensuring each client has a unique vehicle. Each model will celebrate a different milestone from Nino Farina’s life:

CURATED EXTERIOR DESIGN BY AUTOMOBILI PININFARINA

Battista’s peerless design – perfectly balancing technological innovation with a nod to Pininfarina’s elegant past – has been elevated with the Edizione Nino Farina and its heritage-inspired livery.

Dave Amantea, Chief Design Officer, Automobili Pininfarina, said: “This exclusive model pays homage to Nino Farina’s courageous and fearless persona, and his incredible achievements in motorsport. It is our tribute to a family dynasty – to the man who will forever be known as the first driver ever to be crowned a Formula One World Champion and to our founder, the man responsible for igniting his passion for racing.

“Each vehicle is a tribute to Nino’s unrivalled history and each one represents a unique moment in his life, which was truly remarkable. We have taken inspiration from these moments to create a vehicle that would be the centre piece of any collection. Its signature Rosso Nino body colour has been chosen to evoke memories of the Italian racing red paintwork of the cars in which he enjoyed his greatest victories, while key finishes and design cues sit seamlessly with Battista’s unmistakable design.”

The unique exterior design is finished in bespoke Rosso Nino – a deep and rich red hue that pays homage to the vehicles Nino Farina drove throughout his racing career. The intricate body and Rosso Nino paint is complemented by a special livery on the lower body, finished in Bianco Sestriere and Iconica Blu.

The Bianco Sestriere and Iconica Blu detailing extends to the bespoke pinstripe on the door mirrors and underside of the rear wing – with bespoke

graphics including a laurel wreath – while the number ‘01’ in Bianco Sestriere is featured in a large graphic on the rear panel behind the door.

Providing added exterior distinction is the Furiosa Pack, comprising a revised carbon fibre front splitter, side blades and rear diffuser, finished with a Bianco Sestriere pinstripe, while the Carbon Accent Pack is finished in Black Exposed Signature Carbon.

Dark detailing extends to the Goccia roof, while the Exterior Jewellery Pack is finished in brushed aluminium, anodised in black. This complements the black brake calipers and centre lock rings, which are finished in brushed aluminium anodised in black. New 10-spoke forged aluminium Glorioso alloy wheel designs feature a distinctive Satin Gold finish.

Subtle exterior detailing referencing Nino Farina is visible across the vehicle. A bespoke ‘Nino Farina’ engraving on the headlight unit is finished in brushed aluminium anodised in black, while the driver’s side carbon side wing is enhanced with a ‘Nino Farina’ graphic signature.

BESPOKE INTERIOR CREATES UNIQUE DRIVER AND PASSENGER ENVIRONMENTS

The Battista Edizione Nino Farina’s interior features a bespoke two-tone theme, with a driver’s seat upholstery trimmed in black sustainable luxury leather and passenger seat in contrasting beige and black Alcantara.

The Pilota seats feature a unique design between the driver and passenger, both with a bespoke quilting pattern and ‘Nino Farina’ on the backrest. On the black driver’s seat, the bespoke headrest features an embroidered laurel wreath and ‘01’ graphic in gold, while the

Pininfarina logo is finished in red on the beige passenger seat. The backs of both seats are painted in Rosso Nino, matching the exterior bodywork.

Following the exterior theme, the upholstery is accentuated with Iconica Blu seatbelts, with a bespoke duotone contrast stitch in beige and red on the centre tunnel, dashboard and seats. The steering wheel is finished in black Alcantara with Exposed Carbon, with a contrasting 12 o’clock ring in brushed aluminium anodised in red. The attention to detail extends to the steering wheel plate, which is finished in brushed aluminium, anodised black, bearing the ‘Nino Farina’ signature. Like the exterior, dark detailing extends to the interior with the Interior Jewellery Pack in brushed aluminium, anodised in black.

Beautiful detailing specific to the Edizione Nino Farina is found throughout the interior. The chassis plate is black anodised with bespoke ‘Nino Farina’ dedication, while the passenger door plate is unique to each vehicle.

BATTISTA PERFORMANCE

Like the Battista and Battista Anniversario, the Edizione Nino Farina is powered by a state-of-the-art powertrain that delivers record-breaking performance. The world’s first pure-electric hyper GT utilises a high-capacity 120 kWh lithium-ion battery contained within a strong but lightweight carbon fibre housing.

Automobili Pininfarina opens an exciting new chapter in its history at Monterey Car Week with the ‎introduction of the world’s first pure-electric, open top hyper Barchetta - the breathtaking new B95.

The pure-electric hyper Barchetta is a design and technology masterpiece – the simplicity of its ‎flowing opentopped bodywork contrasts with exquisite technical details to provide a dramatic interpretation of a classic racer, underpinned by pure-electric performance.‎

Automobili Pininfarina’s PURA design philosophy expresses an elegant silhouette and dramatic ‎proportions, as demonstrated by the recently unveiled PURA Vision concept. The principles established here have been translated for B95, balancing inspiration from iconic classic race cars with futuristic ‎elements, all while remaining true to the PURA philosophy.

B95 makes its world premiere at Monterey Car Week in August, presented alongside the Battista ‎Edizione Nino Farina hyper GT, which debuted at Goodwood Festival of Speed in July, as well as the ‎recently launched PURA Vision design concept.

Handcrafting and deliveries of this limited-run masterpiece will begin in 2025, marking the 95th ‎anniversary of Pininfarina SpA. The ‘B’ in its name stands for Barchetta, both elements combined creating the name Automobili Pininfarina B95.

Just ten examples will be made, each one meticulously curated between the Automobili Pininfarina design team in Cambiano and individual clients, ensuring complete exclusivity as no two will be the same. The beautiful showcar crafted for presentation first during Monterey Car Week is designed by the Automobili Pininfarina Design team and hand-made in Cambiano by the team of Pininfarina SpA artisans.

DESIGN INSPIRED BY PURA

The design of B95 is exemplified by full-width enveloping bodywork which wraps around into the front fenders. The high swage line gives the outer body a stunning muscular appearance. From within the ‎cabin, it provides a feeling of safety and comfort while connecting occupants with their surroundings.

The Barchetta silhouette is instantly recognisable, but it was our job to make it beautiful. The Automobili Pininfarina B95 represents a striking interpretation of a Barchetta body shape. The ‎sleek, timeless lines contrasts with technical detailing to create a pure, beautiful design. The footprint ‎of B95 is accentuated by the elegant body with open access to the sophisticated cabin.

Pronounced wheel arches emphasise the shape and power of the vehicle, enabling the design team to ‎add extra shape to the connection between the arches, and the bodyside. This allows control of the ‎reflections from the bodywork, which adds depth and quality to the design.

Viewed from above, the PURA design DNA is instantly recognisable. With no vehicle glasshouse, the ‎Automobili

Pininfarina design team has defined the cabin space with a surrounding loop, which ‎incorporates the seats, adjustable aero screens and the domes behind each passenger. From this view, ‎there are four clear lines that define the B95, showing a connection with the PURA Vision concept.

The open-top driving experience of B95 is enhanced by the world’s first electronically adjustable aero ‎screens. Taking inspiration from vintage fighter planes, the clear polycarbonate designs feature intricately engineered and exposed aluminium supports and can be raised and lowered by the client to improve comfort while preserving design integrity.

Clients can order bespoke helmets, in a finish coordinated to match their chosen B95 specification. ‎These accessories allow the driver to fully experience B95’s hyper car performance safely on road or track.

B95: LAUNCH CAR SPECIFICATION OVERVIEW

The main body of the unique B95 making its world debut in Monterey this year is finished in metallic ‎Bronzo Superga, providing a dramatic contrast to the distinctive Giallo Arneis gloss section at the front and atop the driver’s dome, itself featuring Black Gloss ‘95’ lettering.‎

Extensive use of Black Exposed Signature Carbon delivers a technical 3D sculptural effect that contrasts from the elegant paintwork of the body. This same detailing of contrast can also be viewed ‎around the carbon fibre splitter at the front and around the rear aero outlet.

The body finish is a flawless, multi-layered gloss, emphasising B95’s elegant silhouette. It combines ‎gold metallic flakes to give it an incredible depth of colour. In the daytime, the accents appear gold in ‎texture and colour, while at night it takes on a bronze hue, giving the impression of two different colours depending on the time of day.

To complete the exterior, B95 has new 20” front / 21” rear forged aluminium wheels finished in Matt ‎Black and contrasting with exposed aluminium matt precision-polished outers. The centre lock rings ‎are finished in brushed aluminium anodized in black, while the brake callipers are Giallo Arneis, ‎matching the exterior accents.‎

The interior is the epitome of a classic race car meeting futuristic design, with a concept car-inspired

dashboard and cabin environment that leaves occupants feeling safe and cossetted.

From the driver’s seat, the expansive dashboard appears to merge with the exterior, extending the ‎distinctive lines of the hood into the cabin, as seen on the PURA Vision design concept.

Together with the sculptural carbon-fibre dashboard, a floating wing effect is created. The dashboard ‎is upholstered in Tan Sustainable Luxury Leather with bespoke embossing, which contrasts with the ‎brushed black aluminium anodised finish that features elsewhere.

The seats, also finished in the Tan Sustainable Luxury Leather, are inspired by those of a classic race ‎car, designed to curve around the occupant. Both seats have been profiled to cosset the driver and ‎passenger, ensuring comfort and protection, with a two-part design inspired by the seats found in ‎PURA Vision, with unique aluminium inserts.

The headrests, featuring electro-welded Pininfarina logos, are finished in a Pied de Poule Houndstooth Luxury Textile while black and tan contrast stitching continues across the seats, door interiors and ‎dash.‎

My team is particularly proud to have sourced and designed the exclusive, sustainable new material for the shoulder and headrest sections of B95’s seats. This ‘houndstooth’ design and exquisite material ‎combination is inspired by the fashion world, elevating the luxurious nature of the B95 cockpit.”‎

Francesco Cundari, Interior Design Director, Automobili Pininfarina, said: “Driving the B95 will be an ‎immersive experience like no other. It is the first ever hyper Barchetta and will feel like a cross between driving a modern F1 car and piloting a vintage fighter plane. There are unlimited bespoke opportunities for collectors specifying B95, ensuring each one of the 10 ‎examples will be unique.

One of the most noticeable bespoke opportunities is the laser-engraved aluminium door plate, located ‎on the outer edges of both doors and easily visible when entering and exiting the car. Finished in anodised black with bespoke B95 engraving in white, they add a sense of theatre to entering the hyper Barchetta.

We’ve selected the latest technology to make it a vehicle people desire to own, ‎as well as a thrilling place to be. The application of technology to create our adjustable aero screens is ‎inspired by two-wheel motor racing – ensuring this is a pioneering road car. This patented new technology enables the pure thrill of opentop driving, yet in comfort even at the high speed that the ‎B95 is capable to reach.”‎

The B95 is powered by the same state-of-the-art powertrain that delivers breath-taking performance in the Battista hyper GT, but with a unique tune for such a unique vehicle. Accelerating from 0-60mph in less than 2 seconds, B95 has a top speed of more than 300km/h.‎

The world’s first pure-electric hyper Barchetta features a high-capacity 120 kWh lithium-ion battery ‎generating peak power of 1400 kW (1900 PS). The T-shaped battery pack, which is liquid-cooled, is ‎protected within a strong and lightweight carbon fibre housing and can be charged using DC fast chargers up to 270kW – for a 2080% top up in as little as 25 mins.

This power is delivered to the road via four independent high-performance electric motors – one driving each wheel. Five distinct drive modes leverage Full Torque Vectoring technology to enable the driver to tailor power delivery and handling to suit their preference and driving conditions.

There is a choice of five driving modes to tailor the driving dynamics: Calma, Pura, Energica, Furiosa ‎and Carattere, which are activated via a tactile, sporty rotary selector, located next to the steering ‎wheel.‎

The hull of the B.Yond limited edition features an elegant metallic colour called Vulcan Grey, embellished with a distinctive black shield. Further emphasizing its uniqueness, a refined golden waterline graces the boat from stern to bow. The gilded and backlit Benetti logo proudly adorns the sides of the Upper Deck, signifying this vessel as a new icon of the sea. Enriching the limited edition are glass railings with teak handrails, allowing unobstructed views of the surrounding environment, enhancing the experience and sense of freedom for guests on board, and enabling them to fully appreciate the beauty of the sea and its surroundings.

B.Yond Limited Edition - The Details

The Main Deck is home to the night area, with four elegant VIP cabins containing double beds, as well as a spacious full-beam master suite. The impressive garage can accommodate two jet skis, a 6.5-meter tender and the rescue boat.

The new beach area on the Upper Deck offers the owner and guests an enormous open-air lounge with two C-shaped sofas and two coffee tables, covering a total surface area of over 80 sqm. This vast space also includes a transparent infinity pool of almost 8 sqm, providing unbroken visual contact with the sea. Entered through a large, glazed door, the second lounge offers a spectacular 360-degree panoramic view.

The stern area of the Bridge Deck is elegantly furnished with sunbeds, while the lounge features an enclosed Hampton-style veranda. Fitted with audio and video systems, this space offers more privacy and comfort for guests. The deck’s forward area contains the helm station and control cabin, both reserved for the captain.

The Sun Deck contains a bar and a comfortable outdoor dining area with a table, all shaded by the hard top, plus an additional sunbathing area.

On the Lower Deck, reserved for crew members, there are five cabins, including the captain’s accommodation, and an additional cabin that can be replaced by a gym, a cabin with a bathroom, or a wellness area equipped

with a steam bath and/or sauna. The service area includes a storeroom that can be fitted with a dry storage area and a cold store, uncommon features for a yacht this size. The generous stern area can accommodate water toys, a spa, and a beauty area, depending on the owner’s preferences.

Two internal stairways, one for guests and one for crew, provide separate flows that ensure total privacy for both owner and guests.

The extreme flexibility of the B.Yond Limited Edition’s layout, supported by a host of pre-engineered solutions that are one of this series’ strengths, makes it possible to redefine the existing spaces and adapt them as alternative hospitality areas to suit the owner and guests’ specific needs.

The B.Yond Limited Edition offers as an option the E-Mode Hybrid propulsion system, developed in

partnership with Siemens Energy, which optimizes on-board energy consumption, making this Voyager the most sustainable in its segment. This innovative system offers four different operating modes, including Full Electric. This zero-emission cruising option allows the B.Yond Limited Edition to enter marine protected areas typically off-limits to motor yachts with diesel engines, offering a unique opportunity to explore ecologically sensitive areas while respecting the environment. Based on an average annual use of 1,000 hours (400 underway and the rest at anchor) fuel consumption and CO2 can be reduced by up to 24%, and NOx by a maximum of 85%.

SURGE IN WEALTHY INDIVIDUALS IS DRIVING RAPID EXPANSION FOR LUXURY RETAILERS

The rising number of high net worth individuals and mass affluent globally is the key driver behind rapid expansion of the luxury retail market, new global research* by world-leading communication technology company Communications Specialist Ltd shows.

Its study with senior executives at luxury retailers with total annual turnover of $3.1 billion across Asia, Africa, Europe, the US and South America found they are forecasting annual growth of more than 5.6% for the luxury retail sector over the next three years.

The research by Communications Specialist Ltd which supplies technology supporting luxury retailers and their clients found growing confidence about rising revenues at their firms and for the market as a whole.

Senior executives questioned for the research highlighted the growth in high net worth individuals and mass affluent people across

the world as the biggest reason rising sales.

Around 80% of executives said growing wealth globally is boosting sales while more than half (53%) pointed to improved performance by luxury retailers and pent-up demand following the COVID-19 pandemic. Around a third (31%) say increased sales are down to more personalised offers from luxury retailers for clients.

The combination of factors is undoubtedly translating into higher sales – almost all (96%) questioned believe revenues at their firm will be higher this year than in 2022. More than a fifth (22%) expect revenues to be 50% higher this year.

Key to facilitating this growth is technology, and Communications Specialist Ltd research reveals that luxury goods retailers are set to significantly boost spending in this area in order to capitalise on this. Kevin Buchler. Chief Marketing

Officer at Communications Specialist Ltd, said: “The luxury retail sector globally is growing strongly but retailers are having to adapt to changing customer demands and perceptions.

“The rise of online shopping identified in the research coupled with a need to enhance the instore experience is putting pressure on the costs of retailers.

“We are seeing the impact in increased interest from the sector which represents a growing market for secure radio communications and communications technology.”

Communications Specialist Ltd’s study with senior executives at luxury retailers found they are predicting an increase of 36% in spending on technology over the next three years. One in five believe spending will rise by 50% or more.

A key focus is the increased use of mobile solutions such as mobile

POS devices which help sales staff to enhance customers service in stores and help manage delivers to customers.

Around a quarter (24%) of executives questioned expect the use of mobile POS to increase dramatically over the next three years while 76% expect a slight increase.

Enhancing the customer experience in stores is important as the research by Communications Specialist Ltd found sales are increasingly moving online.

On average the executives questioned expect 28% of sales in the luxury retail market to be online within three years as customers increasingly want to interact with favoured brands online.

Luxury retailers also believe increased investment in technology and communications will boost operational efficiency across the sector.

Currently just one in four (26%) believe the sector achieves excellence in its levels of operational efficiency. Around 58% rate efficiency levels in the sector as good while 16% say it is merely average.

However, the study with senior executives at luxury retailer found plans to invest in technology and communications are expected to enhance the customer experience and efficiency in the sector.

Around one in in four (24%) expect a dramatic improvement in efficiency over the next three years while 76% expect a slight improvement, the research by Communications Specialist Ltd which supplies technology supporting luxury retailers and their clients found.

Investment is likely to include the widespread adoption of technology such as mobile POS devices for sales staff to improve customer service and reduce waiting times in stores. The mobile POS technology

allows staff to look up inventory, process returns and manage orders for store delivery, or delivery directly to people’s homes.

Kevin Buchler added: “Technology is transforming many industries and the luxury good and high-end retail sector is no different.

“Increased spending on technology is widespread throughout the sector but it is paying off in terms of increased operational efficiency which is important for a sector which is achieving strong growth but is always under pressure to contain costs.”

Communications Specialist Ltd provides sales support on twoway radio systems as well as training, fitting and commissioning of equipment, systems amalgamation, on-site instruction, maintenance and the provision of spare parts internationally.

Apple Vision Pro has an astonishing amount of technology in a compact design. A singular piece of three-dimensionally formed and laminated glass is polished to create an optical surface that acts as a lens for the wide array of cameras and sensors needed to blend the physical world with digital content. The glass flows into the custom aluminum alloy frame that gently curves around the user’s face, while the modular system allows for a tailored fit to accommodate a wide range of people. The Light Seal is made of a soft textile, and comes in a range of shapes and sizes, flexing to conform to a user’s face for a precise fit. Flexible straps ensure audio remains close to the user’s ears, while a Head Band — available in multiple sizes — is three-dimensionally knitted as a single piece to provide cushioning, breathability, and stretch.1 The band is secured with a simple mechanism, making it easy to change to another size or style of band.

Apple Vision Pro is built on a strong foundation of privacy and security, and keeps users in control of their data.

Optic ID is a new secure authentication system that analyzes a user’s iris under various invisible LED light exposures, and then compares it to the enrolled Optic ID data that is protected by the Secure Enclave to instantly unlock Apple Vision Pro. A user’s Optic ID data is fully encrypted, is not accessible to apps, and never leaves their device, meaning it is not stored on Apple servers.

Where a user looks stays private while navigating Apple Vision Pro, and eye tracking information is not shared with Apple, third-party apps, or websites. Additionally, data from the camera and other sensors is processed at the system level, so individual apps do not need to see a user’s surroundings to enable spatial experiences. EyeSight also includes a visual indicator that makes it clear to others when a user is capturing a spatial photo or video.

His portraiture has graced the pages of prestigious publications such as Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar, while his distinct persona has positioned him as an ambassador for popular menswear brands and The British Fashion Council. Alistair’s recent venture into abstract photography has captured the attention of art enthusiasts. Notably, his collection, Incidentals, was showcased at the Study Café within Home Grown Club for an entire year.

In this exclusive interview, Alistair Guy shares his creative journey and the inspirations underpinning Incidentals. He offers insights into his future projects, and imparts invaluable advice to aspiring creatives and entrepreneurs.

How did it all begin?

It all began when I was invited to an event that The Luxury Network and Hapag Lloyd were running in partnership with Home Grown, and were generously donating a raffle prize for a luxury cruise holiday. Surprisingly, I won the raffle and embarked on a 10-day cruise around the Canary Islands. Prior to the cruise, I had been developing a new abstract approach to my photography and saw the cruise as an opportunity to explore this concept and potentially create an exhibition.

Where did the idea for Incidentals spring from?

The idea originated from my travels, particularly during the COVID pandemic and its early stages when we had limited opportunities to explore. I visited Spain and during that trip I was inspired to capture photographs featuring a combination of man-made structures and natural elements.

You were renowned for portrait photography, why did you switch to objects?

I’m primarily a portrait photographer, known for capturing subjects from film, fashion, and music in my past exhibitions. However, in my third series I aimed for a more artistic direction, incorporating geometric shapes and forms into my photography. Titled Incidentals, the exhibition showcased images of man-made and natural objects captured using a Google Pixel mobile phone. As a long-standing brand ambassador for Google, using their technology was a natural choice. The focus was on the artistic concept rather than the camera itself. During the exhibition, I deliberately kept the camera used undisclosed, as I believe any camera can capture remarkable pictures in capable hands. Additionally, I conduct masterclasses to empower individuals to improve their photography skills using the equipment they already have, given the impressive quality of phone cameras today.

How well do you think your photographs fit in Home Grown?

The Study Cafe was a perfect venue for the display. The cafe is adorned with maps and has a travel theme throughout, making it a natural choice for showcasing a travel-inspired exhibition.

What is your favourite piece from the collection?

My favourite picture is the one with the bollard, which we used on the flyer. It represents the connection between the cruise ship, the dock, and the water. The composition, with the line between the bollard and the water, is what I find most captivating.

What are your plans for the future?

Whilst I’m not a painter, my background in art and fascination with painting might lead me to explore it in the future. David Bailey, a renowned photographer, serves as an inspiration, as he ventured into painting later in life. I had the chance to photograph him and others replicating his work on canvas during educational programs at the National Portrait Gallery. Bailey’s transition from photography to painting is incredibly cool and intriguing.

Can you tell us about one successful story of inspiration?

I gave a talk at Facebook that inspired an entrepreneur to become a photographer. He had his first exhibition in New York, focusing on travel and landscape photography, and has started selling his images. It’s a wonderful success story.

Artists will be artists, but they still have to show an entrepreneurial mindset. What is your advice to emerging entrepreneurs and creatives?

It’s crucial for me to actively discuss my work, as many photographers and artists tend to remain in their own isolated worlds. I must admit, I was guilty of that for many years. However, I’ve realised that engaging in conversations, collaborating with others, and working with people can amplify the impact of my work. My advice is to be receptive to others’ advice and seek alignment and collaboration with like-minded individuals.

Another valuable piece of advice is to avoid confining yourself to a specific niche. Apart from my photography and educational projects, I have also ventured into the realm of feature films. I produced and directed my first short film, which was released just before COVID. Keeping an open mind and exploring different mediums has been crucial for my growth.

Can you share a bit about your experience at Glastonbury?

I collaborated with Vogue to photograph Glastonbury for eight years, capturing trends and fashion at the festival. It was a fantastic experience being the sole fashion photographer with access to VIP areas and the creative people in the music and fashion industries.

Any photography subjects I may have heard of?

Kate Moss, Cara Delevingne and Florence and the Machine.

What are your thoughts about Home Grown’s looks?

I love the space’s old Georgian townhouse charm, with its beautiful design and well-considered lighting. As an architectural enthusiast, it’s visually appealing and acoustically comfortable. The vibrant and colourful atmosphere fosters creativity and inspiration, making it an ideal environment for artistic expression.

What about a quote you live by?

Just do it, without overthinking. Seize opportunities and capture moments without hesitation.

17 May 2023 - We had the pleasure of being transported away to every design enthusiast’s dream, Salone Del Mobile, the world’s largest furniture and design fair taking place in Milan every year. Scott and Angus, owners of the prestigious Dawson & Co. in Auckland, gave us their personal insights from their trip whilst sipping oak barrel-aged Negroni.

Key takeaways were that Molteni&C offered the most impressive and extensive display. Brass as a material was frequently spotted and so were softer, rounder shapes and curves. If you had to pick a colour, Scott said blue was prominent. Maximalism is on the up and strong contender to the sleek minimalistic lines we have got used to.
