Easter at ma
In our Easter at Marine Park event, Key Clubbers went to the Carmine Carro Center in Marine Park to organize arts-andcrafts tables and hand out refreshments for families to enjoy! Key Clubbers helped kids have a fun-filled and unforgettable Easter.
arine park
"It was so much fun being able to greet all the parents and kids into the event with smiling faces, ready to celebrate the easter festivities. With the help of the arts and crafts packets key club volunteers handed out, the kids were able to make different types of animals on their crafting eggs and even got face masks to go along with it. Overlooking the entire event were some more key clubbers handing out snacks and drinks to all the families that came so they were all well fed and taken care of. I happened to enjoy the free halal food truck that they provided to everyone as well. All in all, it was a very enjoyable experience and I hope to do it again some other time." -Trey Woodbine, Key clubber
AAPI hERITA
The month of May marks a month full of Asian American Pacific Islander pride, also known as AAPI heritage month. To celebrate, an AAPI heritage parade was held by Better Chinatown. Key Clubbers volunteered to march together with a traditional dragon to show AAPI spirit!
AGE PARADE "Marking the first Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, Better Chinatown hosted the first Asian Pacific American Heritage Parade at 6 Avenue between 34th Street to 59th Street in Manhattan on Sunday, May 15th. There were many special guests that came to show their support including the Mayor of New York City, Eric Adams! Participating in this event as a volunteer at the event we helped set up tents, tables, chairs, carry dragons, march in the parade, and cheer! We had 100+ volunteers that came from all across NYC! It was a lot of fun and Wendy’s even gave out FREE Frostys to some volunteers!" -Amy Wu, Lieutenant Governor of Division 9
"The AAPI Parade was such a fun experience. It was a honor to experience the first AAPI Parade in NYC. I met many other members of Key Club and I felt really proud to present the Chinese culture during the parade. I would love to attend the one happening next year." -Sevena Lin-Liang, Key Clubber
Japan Day
In our Japan Day event, Key Clubbers gave out water bottles to dehydrated and tired parade-marchers! It was exciting to see people enjoying Japanese culture and partaking in it by trying out Japanese cuisine in stands.
Parade
"It was fun, I met some students from other schools and got to meet many people that walked the parade. We volunteered to pass out water for those who were just getting done with the parade." -Vanessa Huang, Key Clubber
5 Boro
At the 5 Boro Bike Tour, Midwood Key Club and Goldstein Key Club came together to volunteer! Key Clubbers cheered on bikers, handed out water and enjoyed views by the shore!

"I enjoyed staying near the shore the most. I walked with my friends around the pier. We also went to cheer the bikers!." -Sharon Tam, Key clubber
"It felt so exciting to cheer on the bikers! They looked super cool and I'd love to volunteer again next year. It is the type of experience you'd never forget." -Angel Wu, Key clubber
