What does beautification mean to you? To Key Clubbers, beautification is:

"CBD 2021 was the first time I participated in their annual event in person! All of my time spent there was filled with valuable workshops and there was never a point where I felt disinterested. The panelists were inspirational and incredibly enthusiastic, the park-clean up and drawings were very collaborative and the food provided was delicious! I will never forget this event and I hope to join CBD in 2022 as well!" -Vanessa Huang, Key Clubber

Letters to
Foster Children (Halloween Edition!)
9
For this event, Key Clubbers wrote encouraging, cute and fun Halloween themed cards to children in the foster care system! We then mailed these cards to Letters to Foster Children to bring smiles to some faces on Halloween :) We played some spooky music for Key Clubbers to listen to while writing their cards, and they got to enjoy some sweet treats as well! Visit Letters to Foster Children's site here!

Letters to Foster Children
"When I arrived at the event, there were so many people there and I saw the art supplies in the middle of the room- from witch hat stickers, pumpkin stickers, markers, colored pencils, and halloween-themed colored paper. There was also music paying already, Thriller by Michael Jackson, which added to the Halloween atmosphere. I sat down and got to drawing and decorating the paper card. I wrote “have the best Halloween ever!”, a kind message in the back, added orange and purple doodles around it, and some fun Halloween stickers! I loved the Halloween music playing as well as the lollipops they gave out. It was super fun to eat candy while creating something meaningful!"

Pride Club x Key Club Ribbon-making
On October 29th, Key Clubbers and Pride Club members came together to fold rainbow ribbons in support of LGBTQ+ pride! Feeling seen in school is crucial to the student body, so we made our best effort to help those in the LGBTQ+ community feel the support of everyone who wears the pin! In the end, we made around 500 pins which was worn around the school by an incredible number of students.

Pride Club x Key Club Ribbon-making
"For this event, we made pride pins to handout to other students at our school on Pride Day. Pride Day is a day to celebrate self expression and the journey to self identity, so making these pins felt very meaningful to me. Key Clubbers all around had lots of fun handing out the pins as well as the students who received it, being able to express their pride!" -Key Club member, Trey Woodbine
"I'm extremely grateful for what Key Club has done for pride club, for which I am the secretary. We were able to make a large number of ribbons for LGBTQ+ students across the school. I hope this action made the environment made by the student body feel safer and more supportive. I hope we can once again do this event successfully in Pride Month!" -Key Club Member, Paola Valentin
