OUR MANIFEST: ADDING COLOUR When something gets old and conservative it becomes predictable. To transform and adapt is a law of nature. That’s why we named ourselves TRIWA – Transforming the Industry of Watches. Forget golf, Formula 1, moon landings and status symbols. Our inspiration comes from the ever-changing world we live in, especially from contemporary art and design. Creativity and fun have overtaken tradition and heritage. When we create, we create for a very selected target audience, ourselves. Whether a piece gets made or not depends solely on whether we want to wear it or not. Happily there are kindred spirits like you out there, who also like what we like. Together, we’re adding a little colour to an otherwise rather bland world and are starting to transform the industry we act in.

Five days in Istanbul

Our search for colourful people and TRIWA personalities continues from Berlin, where we shot the AW13 lookbook, to Istanbul. The city is mind-blowing at first sight, filled with great culture and strong characters. Historic and modern, secular and religious, urban and rural are all mixed up in this multifaceted metropolis which gives character to both the cityâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s landscape and the people. This is a place where you, side by side, can find castles, clubs, mosques, mansions, mosaic, modern art, spices and skyscrapers and last but not least colourful creatives. We got the chance to experience their city for a week and discover their favourite Istanbul spots. We thank you all for contributing to our catalogue and for showing your beautiful city.

SS14 WATCHES This season we’ve focused on extending our assortment of stainless steel watches, by adding two new Lansen watches in shiny gold and brushed gun metal. We also felt that the Lansen needed a sibling, so we created the Lansen Chrono to keep it company. Lansen Chrono is a neat, sophisticated chronograph, with signature round hour indexes and date function at 4h. It comes in four colours, all with radially brushed dials and sub dials, and a large variety of straps ranging from a dressier link bracelet to a sporty canvas strap. It’s a new favorite here among us at TRIWA, and we really hope you will like it as much as we do. But TRIWA wouldn’t be TRIWA without some colourful additions to the collection. After all it is spring! The brightest shining star might be a golden Niben with bright purple detailing and a double wrap strap in vibrant purple canvas and organic tan leather. It’s joined by a more subdued stainless steel Niben with a sky-blue canvas strap. It’s a diverse selection of timepieces, with a deep spectrum of colours, material, textures and detailing, playful yet sensible. Enjoy!

SS14 SHADES This is our third season of making sunglasses and our collection is steadily growing. We proudly present four precious newcomers ready to adorn your face. Weâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;ve played around with vibrant colours, steel, transparencies, heavy material thicknesses and bold shapes to add a little attitude to your summer disguise. As usual the TRIWA sunglasses have classic silhouettes, beautifully handcrafted in acetate, with contemporary detailing and contrasting temple tips. Each frame is carefully polished and fitted with lenses from Carl Zeiss Vision, optical class 1, a guarantee of full protection of your eyes. Now, lets hope for sun, a hangover or just a bit of attitude to kick off the TRIWA shades season.

ABOUT US Not so long ago, back in 2007, four friends decided to quit their day jobs to focus on a shared dream. With the energy and daring of complete enthusiasts they dedicated themselves to Transform the Industry of Watches, which also became the name of the company; TRIWA. Of course, none of them knew much about watch-making, but that didn’t matter because they didn’t want to do things the same way they’d been done before anyway. They were tired of the F1 cars, the mahogany display cabinets, the father and son bonding, the lunar landings and famous actors in front of airplanes. In short, they were tired of the lack of contemporary design, humour and creativity in the watch industry. Though they didn’t have the haughty Swiss watch-making heritage, what they had was more important: a modern Swedish idea and a will to transform. So they built their office in an old stable in the middle of Stockholm and set off creating their first collection of watches. From that day on, in order to keep transforming and “adding colour” – which is the company motto – they are always looking outside of the industry for inspiration, with art serving as their main muse. Today the product portfolio also features colourful shades, and that old stable houses 12 colourful people whose sole purpose in life is to find new ways of creating, packaging and distributing the TRIWA brand.
