Creativity has many faces and speaks in many languages. In the past hierarchies emerged. There was Art with a capital A, created by sculptors, painters, and poets, the fine craftsmanship of applied arts, and the expert handcrafted experience of seasoned artisans. Today designers, both fashion and display, as well as goldsmiths, photographers…all fall under the wider term of artist. The important thing is the ability to tell a story, use one’s imagination, and choose a personal language a priori that communicates with the largest possible audience. Beauty can be useful and futile; it is essential to surprise, to divulge, and to find new ways to narrate, moving outside what was previously established.
