We are . . .

Pegasus The story of Pegasus begins with intellectual curiosity and compassion. We are a vibrant academic community that inspires bright, motivated students to discover and develop their unique gifts. Teachers and students build trusting relationships that foster selfreliance, confidence, and innovative thinking. A Pegasus education equips students to achieve future academic success and make a positive impact on society.

This is our mission.

We are . . .

A school beyond the ordinary

Dear Prospective Families, On behalf of The Pegasus School community, thank you for your interest in our school. Whether you are a new or familiar friend, we think you will find that our viewbook is a wonderful snapshot of Pegasus and what we believe distinguishes us in the independent school community. Pegasus was founded on the belief that strong intellect and a passion for learning should be nurtured and inspired and that learning must become a lifelong process. We are grounded in a commitment to service, embracing the opportunity borne by educating bright, motivated students. Pegasus students are curious and encouraged to inquire and develop their individual talents, and challenged to test their abilities — all in a stimulating environment. Pegasus faculty are distinguished by their dedication to ignite the thinking of creative and eager learners. Pegasus parents are wonderfully diverse but united in their belief that a first-rate education for their children is of the utmost importance. They are a vital part of the community and share the responsibility to create the environment that is perfect for teaching and learning. The Pegasus community has a shared vision: academic ability must be combined with character and integrity to embrace and grow the whole child. We have built a program that supplements each student’s natural love of learning, and cultivates his or her moral character, kindness, generosity, responsibility, perseverance, courage, and compassion. I invite you to explore The Pegasus School further and see how our community encourages the growth of our children through a rigorous educational program delivered in a caring environment. Sincerely,

Jason Lopez, Head of School

...in community values

We create, sing, dance, perform... Students participate in visual, musical and performing arts under the direction of highly trained professionals. Whether creating a masterpiece in the art studio from a variety of media, performing a Shakespeare monologue, or choreographing a new dance, students find joy in the process of learning by doing.

We lead, compete, develop sportsmanship...

...in athletics Young scholars value the balance a strong physical education and sports program bring. Directed by our extraordinary coaching staff, students participate in athletics at all grade levels. Even though teams have won a great number of championships in flag football, volleyball, soccer, and basketball, middle school students value the strong character traits coaches emphasize during all activities.

We collaborate, volunteer, lead...

“Volunteering at Pegasus is a privilege. Working together with other parents and with teachers is so much fun. I have learned as much as my child.” —Pegasus Parent

80% of Parents Volunteer Parents are a welcome and integral part of our community. In the classroom, as members of our PTO, as intrepid volunteers in many aspects of school life, we value their commitment to The Pegasus School.

We contribute time, talent, treasure... Pegasus is a distinctive and special place where generous faculty and staff, parents, alumni families, and grandparents have created a Pegasus legacy, a community of givers. Volunteer time. Financial contributions. Varied backgrounds and expert skills. These gifts are vital to delivering the type of education we value and expect. All families contribute to the annual giving program—it’s what we do! We presume you too will be inspired to join us and feel good about the impact you make.
