Placencia Peninsula Hosts “End of the World” Marathon and Half Marathon

John Guzman is preparing for the full marathon. Organizers are calling all residents to cheer on the runners. The marathon and the half marathon both start at 5:15 a.m.

Avery Thomas wins Miss Garifuna Pageant in Seine Bight Avery Thomas has proven that she has what it takes to be the Peninsula’s ambassador for Garifuna culture. Thomas was chosen as Seine Bight’s new Miss Garifuna at the village pageant on Saturday, Oct. 27 at the Seine Bight Cultural and Community Center. She will join other “Miss Garifunas” competing in the National Miss Garifuna Pageant in Belize City on November 3.
