Sidewalk Comes Alive at Annual Arts and Music Festival February was very busy on the Peninsula with hotels reporting full bookings for the entire month. While Placencia offers snowbirds beautiful weather, gorgeous beach and plenty of outdoor activities, there is one attraction that many visitors were happy to discover and many residents were eagerly anticipating – the Placencia Sidewalk Arts and Music Festival.

“We loved it!” said Patty Fraizer who was visiting from Michigan with her family. “We were so impressed with the local art work and enjoyed the music too.” And for Nathan Davis from Vancouver, Canada it was his first real glimpse into Belizean culture. “I had an idea of what to expect from reports I had read online,” said the first time visitor to the Peninsula. “But the festival allowed me to interact with the artists behind the art.

Placencia’s Marley Wade Makes Waves in Belize Fashion Scene Eighteen-year-old Placencia beauty Marley Wade recently stunned fashion industry insiders at her explosive debut at the 2014 Fashion Fusion Show held on Feb. 15 at the Princess Hotel and Casino in Belize City. Wade, who is presently completing her final semester in Natural Resource Management at Independence Junior College, said it took some convincing to take a chance in the modeling scene.
