Dee Harris

Dee Harris is a lifelong Memphian and the owner of Dee Harris Interiors Her company provides interior décor services for residential and commercial spaces in Memphis, TN, and surrounding areas. Interior décor is her heart’s passion and a dream she has cultivated for most of her adult life.

Although she has always loved décor, Dee Harris merely tinkered with it as a hobby for years. Her story began when she started decorating rooms for herself in her personal homes because she truly enjoyed it Dee always received compliments whenever friends and family visited Over time, she began to get requests for her services from others, and Dee would recreate spaces here and there in her spare time Dee was always encouraged to venture into interior décor and design professionally, but she was initially quite hesitant

It’s not that she did not want to pursue her passion, but “Life kept getting in the way ” Dee Harris worked in the corporate sector, with over 25 years in the Customer Service arena, Quality Control, and as a Communications Specialist In her mind, Dee felt that would be where she would remain instead of pursuing her life’s purpose

Like so many, Dee found herself letting “self-doubt” creep in The “what ifs” remained in the back of her head However, design and her desire to create were never far from her heart Dee thought she needed to focus on her “ sure thing” instead of betting on herself and pursuing her passion However, the desires of her heart lead her to see that she was destined for so much more

The prospect of leaving the private sector and starting her own business venture was scary and a bit daunting, to say the least Dee was no different than many other entrepreneurs. The fear of the “unknown” can be overwhelming, and leaving the “safe place” of job security is scary. A saying rang true for Dee: “If it is your calling, it will KEEP CALLING until you answer”! That was certainly the case for her; eventually, she had to answer the call.

Over the years, the requests for home décor projects increased, and the referrals from previous home design work became more and more frequent
