POSITION AVAILABLE FOR A FULLY QUALIFIED WORKSHOP TECHNICIAN IN OUR BUSY WORKSHOP Those banners and placards may not have been in vain! After extensive discussions over the summer, Horsham District Council is considering proposals to “radically reduce” its plans for new homes.

The Coalition Government has recently removed its top down housing requirements through the revocation of the South East Plan and has said that housing targets should be set locally.

A requirement still remains in planning law to provide for a certain level of homes each year for at least a five year period, but not the amount that was set out in previous housing targets. It could mean that

some areas in the district under threat from housing, including Southwater and Billingshurst, will now have to cater for much smaller numbers of new homes. See Page 3
