1We’ll start with something seemingly obvious. “Focus on what you want,” Batangan said. Too often she watches couples struggle to create the wedding of the century with the goal of crowd-pleasing in mind. Your wedding is just that: yours. It should include your choice of color and design. If those choices include unconventional or even unpopular details, then your guests will leave knowing, and understanding, you far better than they did before. Jade’s role is to help guide you with each design decision to help create your dream wedding.

2Another strenuous aspect of planning your day can be the very act of creating your plan. Being in a state of uncertainty or not having a “next move” to play might riddle you with stress. Jade’s remedy? “Keep moving forward! I’ve seen couples start to panic when they don’t make continual and educated decisions toward their wedding,” she noted. Fluid planning and forward thinking tend to calm the nerves and give you the collectiveness you need to feel balanced and confident in your plan.

3Do you remember the old saying about the bees? “You’ll catch more bees with honey than with vinegar,” Batangan said. Expressing kindness will go further when facing adversity during your planning process. She conveyed when vendors are met with positivity and a willingness to work with them, “you’ll be met with more compassion and support than you thought possible. Be nice and sprinkle kindness around like confetti!!!”

4“Always read the contracts!” she implores. The most frequent dispute when hiring vendors is brides and grooms forgetting to read the contract. It is not there for your quick glance and a fast “John Hancock”. Take the time to read and understand the terms your vendor has in place so there aren’t any surprises.

5The last tip is the easiest! Remember to take care of yourselves. Take a weekend and escape together, have a girls or guys day or even take a day for personal reflection and alone time. We all need it. Whatever that means to you, self-care is always recommended by the experts.
