OCT 2019 | Cole & I met in high school when we were just 16 years old. We are high school sweethearts. We got engaged after ten years and married three days after our 1st date on our 11th anniversary. I knew there was something so special about him, a feeling that was so hard to describe at the time, but looking back, I knew it was meant to be. I even put this in my wedding vows; I knew I would marry him! And yet here we are, happily married and I still can’t believe our love story!

My inspiration for my wedding was a classic theme. I knew I wanted a classic feel with elegance but put a spin to it. When I found the Brooks at Weatherford, I completely fell in love with the Little White Chapel; it was stunning. I decided right then that was where we would celebrate our love story. I wanted to get married in October close to our anniversary and I knew it would be gorgeous weather at this time. From there, all my decisions fell into place. I wanted some fun elements for the guests to enjoy, such as the Old School Van and a Cotton Candy Machine to entertain my guests during cocktail hour. The décor from the table linens and china to the flowers and cake was all chosen by a timeless, elegant vibe. I wanted creams, whites, light pink, golds, and blue/navy to tie my theme together. I felt the table settings were essential. It decorated the venue beautifully. From there, I knew I needed to tie in my blue glasses with the lights for the party to set the mood. They were to be gold and to turn blue when the party started. I chose blue glow sticks for the party; everything in my eyes had a blue theme.

My personality behind the wedding was to go big and that’s what I did! It became my mindset for the day. I had planned fireworks for my husband that was a total surprise! Can you imagine hiding such a fun secret for over a year?! It was the hardest secret ever! Imagine his reaction! He looked like a kid in a candy shop!

I love looking at my wedding photos & my video. They both captured everything I envisioned on my big day and everything came together like magic. I am so happy with all my choices. I wouldn’t have done anything differently.

WE ARE SO HAPPY we went all out for such a special day & time in our lives. We have unforgettable memories to cherish with each other, family & friends. We wouldn’t have traded this special moment for anything else in the world.

MY ADVICE for engaged couples is to enjoy the planning process as much as you can and the engagement phase. Don’t rush it or wish it away because it will be there before you know it. I remember during my 1.5-year engagement thinking, ‘wow, this is flying by quickly.’ Before you know it the wedding day came, it was beautiful and I had the best time of my life, but the memories leading up to the wedding are so special. So just enjoy the process of all your appointments & soak in every moment.

My other piece of advice for couples planning their wedding, if you want something, then get it. Reach for the stars. Yes, it is just one day; I had many people remind me of this. But it is YOUR DAY! I also had guests compliment the items I almost did without, & I am so happy I got the fireworks to SURPRISE my husband & the cotton candy machine for my guests to enjoy! The little details go a long way!

STANDOUT VENDOR | I cannot say enough about Dyan & Marc. They worked beautifully together; every moment was seamless with them both. Even my husband kept complimenting how amazing they were in general and how great they worked together to make sure they both got the best shots possible in the little time we had. One of my good friends even said the same thing; she is now using Dyan for her wedding in January!
