MAR 2020 | We had originally planned a larger wedding celebration with all of our friends and family, but it was beautifully transformed into a micro-wedding as Texas was hit with the coronavirus that very weekend. In 48 hours, most of the major details of our wedding had been re-planned, and several of my bridesmaids weren’t going to be able to make it, but at the end of the day, I wouldn’t change it for the world. We were able to have the romantic wedding we had hoped for in an intimate Victorian house in McKinney, TX, dressed up in blush, cream, and white florals with lush greenery. At its heart and soul, the focus for us turned from the event to the covenant we were making, standing firm on a foundation of God, love, and trust amidst a rocky situation. The message and vows were given by two friends and trusted mentors, which made it even more personal and included some laughs about our journey together. Everyone felt like it embodied our relationship, which I count as a win! It ended with a surprise twirling kiss from Jacob when the announcement came he could kiss the bride! It felt like a triumphant success, a truly joyous moment, one that we will cherish forever.
