Letter
letter/ “ A mother is she who can take the place of all others but whose place no one else can take.” – Cardinal Mermillod. They say that the first love you will experience is the one for your mother as she is the first person you meet when you open your eyes to this world. Being a mother is a full time job that many people take for granted. We spend our whole childhood looking up to superheroes without realizing that all of them combined do not amount to the strength that our mothers hold. Even on her worst day she will find the strength to draft a smile on her face to cater to your needs. I believe that everyday should be mothers’ day as one day a year is not enough. No one else in this world will take in your pain as hers and share your happiness, sickness, health and success. She will stand by your side through thick and thin; always supporting your dreams and always believing in you even if you give up on yourself. As much as I advise you to spoil your mother on her day, I urge you to show her you appreciate her every day. To all our mothers readers out there, Happy Mothers’ Day! Until next time, Hind Nassar

Be the first, be unique, be different This was the philosophy upon which Hublot built up an excellent reputation in just a few decades on the very competitive high-quality timepiece market. The focus is perfectly ingrained in the idea of the art of fusion, which Hublot has applied since 1980 when it designed its first case combining natural rubber and gold with a shape inspired by a ship’s porthole. When Jean-Claude Biver and Ricardo Guadalupe took the helm of the brand in 2004, and they made this art of fusion into a founding spirit that they deployed as they wished, combining traditional watchmaking savoir-faire with the most cutting-edge technologies and unexpected materials. In 2005, the Big Bang collection, a chronograph with an elegant and contemporary design, enjoyed international success. In its 8,000m2 Hublot2 Manufacture in Nyon, Switzerland, Hublot is constantly pushing back the boundaries of horological innovation.

Hublot Classic Fusion Racing Grey Following on from its Spring/Summer 2015 blue collection, the Classic Fusion quintet now boasts a total “Racing Grey” look. Less harsh than black, more timeless even than blue, this grey – inherently neutral and universal – reinforces the model’s versatile elegance. An androgynous hue with many different facets. From yuppies to gypsetters, tweed to iridescent satin, grey works with every style from the understated to the ultra-sophisticated. With its beauty enhanced by the “metallic” flecks of the titanium or the vibrant bronze of King Gold, the “Racing Grey” is undoubtedly a piece with timeless elegance. Jeans, charcoal grey cashmere sweater, beige trench coat, navy blazer, white shirt or little black dress: only the Classic Fusion “Racing Grey” is missing from your wardrobe basics. Easy to wear, it suits any style and is as masculine as it is feminine.
The case is available in a choice of 4 dimensions and with three movements, to suit any wrist: • 33, 38 and 42 mm – with 3 hands and date at 3 o’clock. The 38 and 42 mm models are driven by a HUB1110 self-winding mechanical movement with a 42-hour power reserve. • The 33 mm case boasts a HUB2912 quartz movement. • The 45 mm version, with 3 hands and date, or chronograph with the date at 6 o’clock, house the HUB1112 and HUB1143 automatic movements respectively. the talk - page 27

Hublot Big Bang Broderie Hublot is ever at the forefront of research into the latest hi-tech materials and guardian of traditional expertise. With Hublot, there are no limits to innovation. It is the company’s reason for being. The Big Bang is the unrivalled icon of fusion; the brand was born to break established codes and over time has demonstrated its ability to create exclusivity. Hublot has freed embroidered silk organza from the fixed notions and the traditional ideas that had held it for so long. The Swiss manufacturer has taken the craft away from haute couture, fashion and lingerie and used it to adorn its Big Bang. In 2015, for the first time in the history of watchmaking, “encased” in carbon fibre, the embroidered web-like material acts as a shell to form the dial and the carbon bezel of the watch. The execution of this technical prowess required several years of research and development. This first Big Bang Broderie is a symbol of confident femininity and glamour, blending two forms of Swiss expertise, which won the prestigious Ladies’ Watch Prize at the 2015 Geneva Grand Prix de l’Horlogerie. the talk - page 30
Big Bang Broderie Sugar Skull 41MM and the Big Bang Broderie 41MM, each of which comes in three runs of 200 pieces Big Bang 41mm Broderie Sugar Skull Turquoise, navy blue, pale pink, fuchsia, yellow, orange, violet‌ lit with Lurex threads, silver or gold, or taking its inspiration from the lines on the catwalks for the 2016 season, the skull motif, with 11 red spinels, and the arabesques on the strap create bold associations of colours. A remarkable exercise in style that is given its value by the power and the simplicity of its (41mm) case adorned in black ceramic with a bezel enhanced by 36 red spinels, the purity of the steel enlivened by 36 pink sapphires or the cat’s eye effect of the red gold highlighted by 36 blue sapphires. Echoing the bezel, the dial is graduated with 12 precious stones, red spinels for the ceramic, pink sapphires for the steel and blue sapphires for the red gold. Big Bang Broderie, 41mm This year, ceramic, steel and yellow gold join the Big Bang Broderie’s wardrobe. The web-like material, embroidered in black or silver Lurex affixed on glossy silk, black for the ceramic, silver for the steel, golden for the yellow gold, sensually evocative and subtly erotic, could almost be fine lingerie sumptuously adjusted to the body. The magic comes from prolonging the lace pattern from the dial to the bezel. the talk - page 31

Hublot MP-05 LaFerrari Sapphire The original design of the MP-05 “LaFerrari” was created to show off the beauty of its movement, but its alter ego – with its case carved out of sapphire – is a movement which appears to be literally suspended in mid-air. All the details of this record-breaking movement can be admired from all angles. With the MP-05 “LaFerrari” Sapphire, Hublot takes us into a supernatural world. A material presence which is almost intangible. With the MP-05 “LaFerrari” Sapphire, Hublot is writing a new chapter in the history of the brand. The three-dimensional construction of the case middle, in sapphire, provides an exceptional setting for the movement. The movement can now be admired from every angle. It appears to be suspended in mid-air in this bespoke setting carved from sapphire. the talk - page 32
Revealing its hypnotic nature, the HUB9005.H1.PN.1 movement features 637 components and a suspended vertical tourbillon. The bridge of the movement even bears the word “Hublot”, which the engineers carved into this transparent material, the hardest after diamond.
A timepiece which plays with the visible and the invisible. Eye-catching. Surprising. Thought-provoking. Its apparent invisibility is so fascinating that it makes it a highly visible and desirable object.

Spring | Summer 2016
Dynamic, playful, confident and above all individual, the Spring | Summer ‘16 collection embodies the idea of expressing yourself through personal style. Sartorially speaking, this season’s new mood heroes the individuality of the wearer, here represented through three diverse trends that speak to KM women the world over. Graphic City From colour-blocked stripes to sharp tailored cuts, this season’s key trend finds power in its purity. Clean lines and elongated silhouettes are saturated in rainbow hues from parrot-green and rich navy, to neon-tangerine and cobalt-blue. The chicest feature du jour? Bare shoulders, be it through graphic cutouts or off-the-shoulder necklines Bohemian summer The 70s sentiment endures this season, reimagined with a polished, uptown twist. Underpinning this part of the collection is smooth, luxurious
tailoring in neutral, earthy tones. The prairie dress and peasant blouse debut as key pieces, amped up with graphic appliqué or subtle print. English Garden From the fluid cut of our tropical jumpsuit to playfully pleated dresses, a new kind of femininity dominates for spring, where ladylike lace and botanical blooms have a relaxed, easy feel embodied in languid lengths, patterned silks and air-light fabrics. Painterly florals punctuate a pretty palette of blush, ivory and nude.

Simon Porte Jacquemus taking over Paris runway shows by a storm
Working his way up the most prominent fashion runway shows, this 26-year-old self taught designer has been able to fulfill one of his many dreams and reach the world with his designs. the talk - page 44
Simon studied fashion design for three months and then worked as a stylist assistant until 2009 where he decided that he wanted to move to a small atelier in Montmartre to work on his collection.
Born and raised in South of France Simon Porte Jacquemus, decided at the young age of 19 to start his own fashion label inspired by female actress and singer Isabelle Adjani. “I’m rather fascinated by Isabelle Adjani, I don’t like the word muse, as I don’t have any. In all her television appearances in the 80s, she never overplayed her role as a celebrity. She was presenting herself in a very natural way and then she went back home to take care of her children. A real woman; charismatic and simple. That’s how I want my collections to be like.” Jacquemus stated.
As a young Parisian designer, Simon’s unique vision and playful approach has already attracted many fans around the world and stockists including Dover Street Market and Opening Ceremony. It has also earned him two nominations for the Louis Vuitton Moet-Hennessy Prize for innovative young designers. He began working on his first small Autumn/Winter 2010 collection entitled Hiver-Froid and then continued with Les Filles en Blanc for the Spring/Summer 2011 season. Both collections were feminine and based on simplicity, but the attention of the Parisian fashion scene to them was immediate. the talk - page 45

His latest collection Le Nez Rouge (or The Red Nose) is a compilation of a few selected colors of red, navy, white and gray. “I wanted to tell the story of a solitary woman who has grown tired of men and has decided to devote her life to dogs. The collection was called Le Nez Rouge, he said, because he had been sick, afflicted with a red nose and personal troubles as he was designing. “You know, my collections are normally about the South of France and the beach and happy things? Well, now the Jacquemus girl is not smiling,” he said. Without spelling out what had happened, he added, “My friends, my family knows.” the talk - page 46
With collections like Hiver-Froid, Les Filles en Blanc, and now Le Nez Rouge, Jacquemus’ name is recognized and is heard everywhere. His line is seen in a number of prestigious boutiques such as Opening Ceremony, Dover Street Market, Maria Luisa Hong Kong and Biffi. Whether it’s his endless love for Isabelle Adjani or his out of the ordinary vision for femininity that makes his style so special; Simon Porte Jacquemus is a self-taught dreamer filled with undiscovered talent yet to be seen.

BELLUNA CALIBER 80 A pair of timepieces to celebrate eternal love
the talk - page 62
The Caliber 80 makes its debut in the Belluna collection with two new models designed to celebrate the passion between two beings. Just like its two-tone case and bracelet in stainless steel with rose PVD treatment, this pair is an expression of perfect complementarity. These two timepieces are fitted with a latest-generation automatic movement, the Caliber 80, which gives them up to 80 hours of power reserve. Classic models with harmonious and elegant lines, the Belluna Caliber 80 watches are a sparkling testimony to a unique story and to eternal love. Inaugurated in 1871 to promote the arts and science, London’s Royal Albert Hall is now one of the most renowned concert halls in the United Kingdom. Built in the inimitable Victorian style, this vast red-brick monument is comprised of several concentric circles and an impressive glass dome, which towers over the centre of this curved, resolutely rounded structure. Just like this magnificent building, the Belluna collection displays perfectly harmonious forms and embodies classic, timeless elegance. The Belluna Caliber 80 falls within a longstanding tradition for watchmaker Mido of creating pairs of watches. Classic and extremely elegant, these two new models have been designed for all couples wishing to celebrate their love – a
unique and eternal love, just like the timepieces created by Mido. With a diameter of 33 mm for the ladies’ model and 40 mm for the men’s model, the Belluna Caliber 80 features a two-tone case and bracelet in stainless steel with rose PVD treatment. The two colours complement each other in perfect harmony, granting the watch exceptional radiance. The silver dial is decorated with a delicate wave pattern, while the date can be read in an aperture at 3 o’clock. These two timepieces are fitted with a latest-generation automatic movement, the Caliber 80, which gives them up to 80 hours of power reserve. The dial of the Belluna Caliber 80 is protected by a sapphire crystal treated with an anti-reflective coating on both sides. The individually applied polished indexes are golden-rose in colour, as are the leaf-shaped hands. Enthusiasts of fine Swiss watchmaking mechanics will endlessly admire the finely decorated automatic movement, which features an oscillating weight adorned with Geneva stripes and the Mido logo, through the transparent case back. Waterresistant up to a pressure of 5 bars (50 m/165 ft), these two timepieces come with a two-tone stainless steel bracelet with a folding clasp.

Miss Golden Bridge Ceramic Summer gold on the wrist
In 2015, Corum celebrates the 35 years of its mythical movement Golden Bridge. An anniversary conjugated to the feminine and expressed by a new model which found the values of the brand: legitimacy and pioneering spirit. When the brand Corum created the Golden Bridge in 1980, did its founder René Bannwart suspect that he had just launched a model which was not only going to become one of the pillars of his company but also an icon of the Swiss watchmaking? The remarkable design of this timepiece all in transparency was certainly in line with the philosophy of a brand which wished from its creation to take place in the avant-garde of the watchmaking industry. The model completed an already very creative collection alongside with the very sporty Admiral’s Cup watch. It also reached a branch of the watchmaking industry where no other watchmaking manufacturers had chosen to venture: the one of the “baguette en ligne” movement. Thirty years later, this movement, which meanwhile became mythical, remains an exceptional achievement and a unique watchmaking expression. Composed of 140 components arranged in a parallelepiped rectangle of 33 mm in length, 3 mm in width and less than 5 mm in thickness, it is a masterpiece of micromechanics offering a balance wheel with variable inertia, a barrel with slipping spring, a power reserve of 40 hours, a 4 hertz frequency ensuring reliability and precision, and hand-engraved bridges and plate made of fine gold… At this level of miniaturization, there are few other pretenders. the talk - page 64

distinctive style and talent. The 40mm steel watch has a sunray finished smoke blue dial with polished dots, and has the uncommon arrangement of 11 minute markers between the 10 and 12-hour markers, a nod to Monk’s dissonant technique.
Thelonious Monk was one of the guiding lights of modern jazz, remembered most for his masterly use of dissonance to set apart his music, a style defined by harmonies that are unstable within an overall harmonic context. In 1944, Monk wrote Round Midnight, which has since become the most recorded jazz standard composed by a jazz musician.
On the reverse, the case back is engraved with the words ‘MONK ALWAYS KNOW’, referring to one of Monk’s many memorable quips inspired by the letters on his custommade ring. To audiences, the ring appeared to say ‘KNOW’, but when approached, he would explain it read ‘MONK’.

Float through time and space
Rado unveils two new lightness-inspired timepieces Swiss watchmaker Rado is proudly unveiling its first creations from the 2016 Baselworld collection: the Rado True Open Heart. Relaunched with a new streamlined edge just last year, the Rado True family has been given yet another beautiful twist with two new pieces in Rado’s lightness-inspired collection for 2016. Limited to just 500 individually marked pieces, the True Open Heart is crafted in either matt black or polished white high-tech ceramic and features the clean, light lines of the Rado True family. The beautifully decorated Swiss movement is framed by stylized cutouts in the dial, lending the piece an airy, spacious feel and giving the wearer a glimpse into the enigmatic mechanics within. An ultrafine mother of pearl layer floats over the dial like a veil, subtly exposing the mysterious innerworkings of the watch below. Timeless, weightless The shimmering colours of the True Open Heart’s delicate, razor-thin mother of pearl dial change along with the lighting conditions and angle of view. Like an aurora borealis on your wrist, the diaphanous 0.6 mm dial evokes feelings of weightlessness, as if floating through time and space. Beneath this sheer iridescent layer is a sight to behold: the bare naked movement, or literal heart of the watch, effortlessly glides and twirls, powering what is both a precision instrument and an object of beauty. the talk - page 66
Slim d’Hermès Purity in motion
Slim d’Hermès inspires a cadence based on pure, restrained lines. From the design of the case to the outline of the numerals, the collection sets the pace for a return to the quintessence of the watchmaking art. The Manufacture collection now welcomes models paying tribute to the saddlery and leather-crafting expertise of the Maison. As Philippe Delhotal, Creative Director of La Montre Hermès, points out: “The collection was born from encounters between the Maison, designers and artisans. The singular blend of contemporary and classic elegance embodied in Slim d’Hermès
expresses the essence of Hermès.” Graphic arts and horological skills meet and mingle in perfect harmony in a quest for aesthetic purity. The in-house expertise is expressed through the dial, the case and the ultra-thin Manufacture calibre. The exceptionally understated lines are accentuated by the slenderness of the case, while the design of the lugs forms a right angle. Their momentum extends right the way to the spring bars around which the strap appears to coil. The result is the epitome of extreme simplicity, striking the perfect balance between rigorous discipline and visual equilibrium.

EBEL Wave Grande Duo Set at Basel 2016
Winter is a season of contrasts and opposites – of crisp frozen mornings, silver frost carpeting fields, and the low mellow sun rising just enough to highlight the crystallized dew sparkling like diamonds. Your breath comes out in puffs of frozen cloud in the cold clear air. The biting frozen temperature lures you back inside to the cozy warmth, the fierce golden glow of a fire roaring in the log burner giving you rosy cheeks. The aroma from the oven wafting warming scents of cinnamon and clove around your home. Both EBEL Wave Grande watches perfectly encapsulate the duality of the winter season. The diametrically opposed elements, the light and dark, the cold and warmth, blended by nature, create harmonious partnerships. These watches of absolute contrast are also perfect partners. One calm, one lively, both boldly feminine with oversized 35mm stainless steel cases, each housing a fine Quartz Ronda 773 movement, and set with a glittering array of 72 diamonds. Each dial is further complemented by the applied EBEL symbol at 12 o’clock, and 8 more diamonds. These precious stones perfectly reflect the twinkling snow and frost. The stainless steel classic signature wave bracelets are interspersed with red gold PVD treatment. But the clearest contrast is in the color of the dials, one pure galvanic silver, suggesting the bright pure elements of snow, the other a cool galvanic grey, evoking low silvery clouds in the sky, both capturing the essence of winter. The warmth of the red gold in the bracelet cleverly and sympathetically provides a visual counterpoint to the cool dial. Both of these EBEL Wave Grande watches reflect the season, but may be worn for many seasons to come. the talk - page 68

Ascia
A friend, a wife, a mother, and a fashion blogger Ascia has proven to the world that she is more than just a social media activist in the region. From being recognized by designer brands such as Dior and Louis Vuitton, to being a humbled friend and a family-oriented individual. This hybrid beauty is always on the run to bring you the latest insights of her life in the fashion industry.

If there is one thing you would want the world to know about yourself other than Ascia the blogger, what would it be? I think that I show a lot of myself through social media as it is but I would say, me as a wife, as a sister, and as a friend, that’s what I want the world to see because those to me are one and the same. It involves a certain amount of acceptance that I’ve learned to create. For accepting people’s personalities, accepting people’s quirks, and differences, that’s the side I want people to see.
the talk - page 72
I think what sets Dalal and I apart is that we focus on the content, we’re really careful with what we put our names to and what we recommend to people because we have to sustain the roots of what blogging really is about, you have to have a true review of products, you have to have truthfulness behind what you’re doing, and passion behind it and I feel like we’re lacking that now in social media.
If you weren’t a blogger, what do you think you would’ve been? I would be a professor; that was what I always pictured myself doing– I always wanted to get into gender anthropology. My very first anthropology class opened my mind to people. I never imagined myself as an upper level anthropology professor; I always wanted to give one-on-one classes, that way it opens you up to so much more. From cultures, to people, to just the beauty of difference, but with that comes the reality of accepting those differences. So to me, I would’ve probably been a professor, it would’ve been my favorite thing to do.
I’d like to see us go back to it and I think that Dalal and I at this point, our numbers have not been climbing the way anybody else’s numbers have been climbing and that’s a good thing because it shows me that I have found my audience and I’m giving them what they want, we found our niche and we’re doing it well. At the end of the day, a brand doesn’t approach you based on numbers, they approach you purely based on content and in the long run, people that blog manage to turn that into a career once they understand the concept of building a content, which is what Dalal and I have managed to do, those are the people that are going to be around a lot longer, because we’re garnering a friendship with our followers which I think is important.
A lot of people nowadays are blogging about fashion and beauty in the Middle East, what sets you apart from them? I think there are a lot of people that blog well here, the ones that do blog well here and have maintained the essence of blogging are not as large as the other social media influencers because they’re really bloggers. What we have here are people capitalizing on a moment in time, a moment in history where they feel like it’s their moment to shine.
What pushes you to continue blogging? It’s the connection I’ve made with people that helps me maintain my career as a blogger, but also fashion is very elite as an industry and there’s a big difference between the beauty industry and the fashion industry -Dalal would completely agree on that. In fashion, it’s very “us versus them” and that’s not how fashion was really meant to be, it’s not meant to be a ranking of some sort; someone
Watch: Hublot - Big Bang Red Gold Diamond Bracelet 38mm On the cover watch: Hublot - Big Bang Linen 41mm Pink Gold
wearing H&M against someone wearing Margiela, fashion is supposed to be accessible, and I think bloggers make that connection between the elite fashion industry and the fast fashion and trends industry, that’s why I continue blogging. I would hate for my child to live in a world where there is an “us versus them”, if we can break down that barrier, that would be amazing. It’s also crucial to break these barriers
in cultures, especially in the Kuwaiti culture. We tend to focus on money, wealth, and upper class versus lower class, if we can only break down that wall, which I feel bloggers are doing, and then we can really focus on what the purpose is. We’re paving a way in Kuwait that no one has ever dared to act upon, that’s where the challenge kicks in. We always had informal rules about which families were allowed in which category, and the talk - page 73
Fashion - Interview
the talk - page 74
now I think bloggers are taking their career path as individuals and breaking through those boundaries. It doesn’t matter how much money you have, or how long you’ve been in Kuwait, it shouldn’t be a “hello, what’s your last name, or “which family are you from?” and that’s a problem I still encounter as a blogger. Who are your influencers? I don’t know if it’s people from the same industry that influence me or that keep me going. When Dalal and I work together it’s a more creative pulse between us, so if I can get somebody like Dalal and feel that, that’s something that keeps me going. Also, Anum from Desert Mannequin, based in Qatar. She’s got such an arty background, that kind of creativity influences me. Finding peers that push you creatively can be difficult, and I feel like I’ve found a couple in the region that really pushes me. How do you balance work and family? I balance them with the help of my husband and with the help of both our families, which are intensively handson with my son. “It takes a village” is something I’ve never really put much thought into until I gave birth, but it really does take a village. It takes a lot of people to raise a healthy balanced child, and for me to be able to run a household, which I still put forth on myself just because I like things done in a specific way. I prep all the meals ahead of time, 30 days in advance so even when I’m traveling I feel like I’ve taken care of my family. It’s a lot of scheduling, a lot of preparation, and a lot of depending on family that really helps us keep going. I feel like we’ve reached more milestones after I’ve had my son, Adam, than even before, now
I have something to work for and now my husband and I have our minds on what we’re working towards. How do you deal with the negative comments on social media? Especially the ones that interfere with your family. I’m not dealing with it as well as I could be, sometimes it still gets to me. I remember breaking down once because someone once told me “you’ll regret how much you’re traveling and leaving your son, how dare you put your career above him” and it was another woman that said that to me. It was another mother, and that made me sadder than the comment itself, it was the realization that humanity still puts everything on a mother’s shoulders as the responsible adult when it really takes two people to make a child. It takes two to raise a child; therefore my husband is equally responsible as I am for my child. My husband was with me on the trip she criticized me for; why not also direct those comments towards the father as well. What makes me more upset with the comments is how far back we still are with human race, with gender equality. I’ve actually backed off with posting pictures of my son as much as I used to because I don’t feel like anyone needs to have this much information. You mentioned that you and Dalal help out each other when it comes to both your careers, do you also help each other when it comes to dealing with those negative comments? I feel like she’s someone I can share things with in terms of just the industry. We share the same platform; we share most of it together, so it’s nice to have someone with me that understands it. In terms with dealing the talk - page 75
Fashion - Interview
with the negative comments we do lift one another up, although we have different approaches when it comes to dealing with people. I like to see her approach, it keeps me in check because sometimes in very emotional and I have to accept that fact about me at the age of 26. There’s no reeling it in, what I feel is what I feel and people know it, that’s where Dalal comes in to keep me grounded, she helps me aspire to be more controlled and that’s what I like about her, she pushes me to do so which is always a good thing. What was the peak of your career that gave you that push to keep going? We work in a niche modesty market and it’s a much underrated market. Now I feel that fashion houses are waking up to what power we have, so for us to gain recognition from big fashion houses is a big deal and this is what keeps me going. I’ve been recognized by Tory Burch, they’ve even asked me how to improve their “ready to wear” for the Middle East
the talk - page 76
to make it more sellable and more accessible. Dior recognizing me and wanting to take shots of me in Paris is also a big deal. Louis Vuitton recognized me as well. All the fashion houses that are recognizing the strength of the modest industry and to me modest doesn’t mean the hijab, to me modesty means a completely different thing. Everything we’re being force-fed today is about nudity, and how much you can show off and that works for some people. That’s what keeps me going in what I do. What are your goals for the future? I would really like to create an accessible platform on YouTube to educate people in a very friendly manner about the background of fashion and the art behind it, as a quick-end goal. I think that’s where’d like to see myself in the next 2 years. Within the five-year plan, I’d like to be on television, because us as a region, us as modest dressers, we have a lot to say. What will that turn out to be? I don’t know, but this is what is in my five-year plan.

What made you start blogging about beauty? Makeup is a sense of expression to me. I’ve always been fond of it, a few years ago, I used to always experiment with new eye-shadow colors, new shades of lipsticks, it was almost as if I would use my face as a canvas. Something else that made me really love makeup is the feedback I got from people, how they’d complement me on the way I drew my eyeliner, or the lipstick color I’m wearing. When I first started blogging about makeup there weren’t a lot of us that would be talking about our experiences with make up, back then there were more professional makeup artists that have already mastered their skill in that field. I was self-taught, even when I used to go to a professional makeup artist, I’d always go back and fix my makeup and that is where I would come in, which is that I wanted girls to understand their own features. If you were to choose a different profession, what would it be? Nothing really grabbed my attention as much as makeup did. I took courses in so many things, photography being one of them. I found myself in love with makeup the most. That’s when I decided to start my own blog and talk about my experience with makeup. I’d also blog about my outfits every once in a while and that seemed to grab the attention of the readers. Who do you look up to in the makeup industry? I never really looked up to anyone, the internet wasn’t a go-to source as it is right now, back then the only source of inspiration I had was looking through magazines. That’s where I learned all the tips and tricks of applying makeup. I was young back then, I didn’t used to leave the house much, so I used any makeup product I had laying around my house just so I can copy the tutorial images I’d see in the magazines. What sets you apart from the rest of the beauty bloggers? With me, it’s more about the advice and instructions I give to girls, I like to let them know that it’s okay to make mistakes. ‘Practice makes perfect’, and the more you practice, the more you’ll understand how to apply make-up that is suitable to you.

What made you realize this is the path you want to take career-wise? I saw my career getting serious when people from outside of the Middle East started contacting me. My latest trip to Paris was something I never imagined I would do. I went there and was able to work with the big brands of beauty; it was like a dream come true. Blogging is taken more seriously than it is in Kuwait or perhaps in the Middle East, it’s an actual job. When someone asks me what I do for a living, and I tell them I blog, they take a step back and start questioning. Why? They don’t understand that the blogging industry is more than what they expect it to be. You’ve mentioned your latest business trip to Paris. Can you take us through that? That was my second time going to Paris actually. My first trip to Paris was for Clarins, they picked out a few bloggers from around the world because they were launching their latest products. I was the only individual representing the Middle East and that was an amazing opportunity. My second trip to Paris was an invitation to introduce a new skin care product from a brand called Carita which will be launched in the Middle East. How do you cope with people who try to bring you down? It used to get to me a lot, but then I realized that I have a goal that I need to be focusing on. The more I sat there thinking about peoples’ opinions of me and let that scare me, the further away that goal seemed. Working on my goal was the only thing that got me distracted from people’s hateful or negative comments and opinions of me. With every step I’ve taken so far through this journey, came along a sense of reassurance that what I was doing was right. To go and represent the Middle East? No one could tell me that what I’m doing is wrong or is a mistake.

What is one piece of advice you would like to give to women around the world? If you love make up, then love it, And if you don’t, so be it. Either way is fine because at the end of the day you have to do what makes you feel most beautiful in your own skin. Be true to yourself because that is what is important. What is one thing you would like to achieve? To create my own line of beauty products. I am working on that at the moment. As for now, my lips are sealed. You and Ascia have maintained a very strong friendship through your journeys, how do you help one another out? Ascia and I have both reached a place in our lives where we both know what we want. We set a goal and we go get it. We’re both on the same page when it comes to the blogging industry and our personal lives. So, whenever I hit a bump in the road she’s my go-to gal. She reminds me why I’m doing this and vice-versa. We do get competitive sometimes, and at the end of the day we’re both in different industries, but it’s a healthy competition and we learn from one another a lot.

Eyeliner 101 Eyeliner is very in this upcoming Spring/Summer and choosing the right one can be overwhelming, the options are plentiful but each has its own usage. Pencil? Gel? Liquid? Cream? Powder? Which is best for a smokey eye? Which is best for a subtle daytime look? We have all your questions ready to be answered.
Pencil eyeliners Pencils are a must-have for every makeup bag. Used to achieve any look from soft and smudgy to deep and dramatic, pencils are easy to use and great for beginners. Pencil liners allow you to line inside the eye, around the lash line, and can even be used as a base to intensify any eye shadow. They are the go to liner to any occasion. Liquid liners Liquid eyeliners are a classic product. They are great for applying sophisticated cat eye looks or any of the sharp lines or graphic shapes we are seeing this season, however, they do require a steady hand and precise application. For more control, try a pen style applicator. Also, to make applying a bit easier; create the shape with a light brown eye shadow first and trace right over it with your liquid. Cream and Gel Eyeliners Creams and gels are a great alternative to liquid liner. They can be
the talk - page 88
used to create the same precise lines, but the formulas are thicker allowing for an application that is more forgiving for beginners and of shaky hands. Use cream and gel eyeliners with an angled brush to perfect your cat eye or choose a smaller brush to create an ultra thin line. Whether you go defined and precise or smudged and smokey, choose a longwearing formula and set it by pressing eye shadow on top of the liner to ensure its staying power. Powder eyeliners Powder eyeliners offer endless possibilities and come in a variety of packages. They can be applied by choosing your favorite eye shadow and applying with a stiff angled brush the way you would use any other liner. Powders are ideal for a smokey eye and tend to be long-lasting. They can also be combined with other eyeliners to achieve the red carpet looks of your favorite celebrities.

10 beauty tips to get whiter nails at home
The yellowing of nails is a common problem with women who use nail polish on regular basis, especially when applying the darker shades since the pigments used leave a more visible stain. Fortunately, there are 10 natural ways that can help you to whiten them effectively.
the talk - page 90
1. Buff your nails Buffing the surface of your nails is one of the easiest ways to remove stains and make them shine. Always use a nail buffer for scrapping away the stains. 2. Rub Lemon Juice The natural acids present in lemon can easily remove stains from your nails. Take some freshly squeezed lemon juice and rub it over your nails with the help of cotton swab. Avoid soaking your nails in the lemon juice because its acidic nature can be harmful for your skin and cuticles. 3. Baking Soda Cleansing Baking soda is an excellent cleanser and can remove stains from the nails in an effective way. Make a paste by adding lemon juice to pure baking soda and use it to scrub off the stains from your nails. Apply the paste evenly on the nails and underneath the tips of your nails and let it sit for 10-12 minutes. Wash off with soap and water. 4. Soak in Hydrogen Peroxide Hydrogen peroxide is yet another natural stain remover. Dilute one part of the solution with three parts of water and soak your nails in it for 10 minutes. Do this for a few consecutive days for better results. For a faster effect, mix some baking powder in the solution before soaking your nails. 5. Use a Denture Cleanser Commercial denture cleansers contain active ingredients that are useful in removing stains from hard surfaces like nails. All you need to do is read the instructions for its use carefully and soak your nails in a solution made of a denture cleaner tablet in water for five minutes. Rinse with warm water and repeat it 2-3 times a week.
6. Brush it off with Whitening Toothpaste Such toothpastes have whitening agents that help in removing satins from your teeth and works well on your nails too. Apply the toothpaste directly on the nails and brush it with the help of a toothbrush or nail brush. Wash off with water after 5 minutes. 7. De-stain with Essential Oil You may also use essential oils to remove tough stains from your nails. Make an infusion by adding a few drops of lemon essential oil in water and soak your nails in it for a few minutes. The brightening action of lemon strips away the stains in a gentle yet effective way. 8. Whiten with Vinegar Vinegar is acidic in nature and is useful in removing stains from the nails. Always use white vinegar as other vinegar may stain your nails with their own color. Add a few drops of it on cotton ball and rub it on your nails. Wash with water when done and apply a moisturizing lotion to prevent excessive dryness. 9. Scrub off with Salt Salt can be an excellent ingredient to buff your nails. When mixed with lemon juice, it strips away the stains in a natural way. Take a glass bowl and add equal amounts of salt and lemon juice to form a grainy texture. Scrub your nails with the mixture for a few minutes and let it stay for 5 more minutes. Rinse with water and pat dry. 10. Use a Whitening Pencil For an instant fix, you may take help of a nail whitening pencil. Although, it does not remove the stains, it helps in temporarily masking it. Walking in the salon was an experience of its own. After a long day of work, heading to Element Salon was the ideal choice. The atmosphere of the salon was filled with good energy, heartfelt smiles from the astounding staff and a mug of hot chocolate was exactly what I needed. I felt just as comfortable as I would be at home. I decided to try something new, something I’ve been hearing about a lot lately, and that’s the temperature activated color changing manicure, but wait, there’s more! It’s gelish too! Meaning the color will last as long as you want it to without chipping off, and we all seem to have this problem when we’re getting a manicure. I walked over to their wide range of different colors, each one was more eye-catching than the other, so it took me a while to pick out the perfect color, and every girl that loves pampering herself knows exactly what I’m talking about. Going for a shade that fit my mood best was the right choice since it was still chili outside and I was feeling a bit cozy. After finally picking out the color, of course with a little help from the lovely staff, I took a seat and the relaxation began. If you’re a nail-bitter just like I am, don’t worry, they’ll have you covered with their 2 weeks long lasting semi permanent nails, which is what I had gone for. This session started off by the basics of a manicure which is cutting and filing the nails, after that would be buffing the nails, this helps the surface of the nail to stay even and smooth out ridges, they would then leave the tip of your fingers soaking in soup and water to help release all the dirt and loose skin and any dust left over from the buffing, this also helps soften the cuticles which takes us to the next step. Treating the cuticles with gentleness is something that every nail technician must take in the talk - page 96
consideration and that is one of the things that had grabbed my attention. This therapeutic session took about an hour to two hours, with the conversations and laughter flowing from the staff, I could’ve stayed for hours in the salon. It was definitely a delightful evening and will absolutely go back for a visit again. 10 crazy-but-true health tips
1.Drink coffee to have a better nap Since it takes 20 minutes for caffeine to kick in, having a 20 minute nap right after your cup of coffee will keep you alert and more focused when you’re performing tasks later during the day. 2.For healthy teeth, don’t brush after eating Brushing your teeth after eating immediately can speed up acid’s effect on your enamel and erode the layer underneath. Experts suggest waiting 30 to 60 minutes before brushing. 3.To wear a smaller size, gain weight Muscle weight that is. Although a kilo of fat weighs the same as a pound of muscle, muscle takes up less space in a human body. 4.To eat less, eat more Eating small amounts of carbohydrates does nothing but spike your blood sugar and leave you wanting more carbs. Choosing a protein such as peanut butter may be high in calories but it helps you get full faster and for a longer period of time. 5.Skip energy drinks when you’re tired Yes, energy drinks contain up to five times more caffeine than coffee but the boost they provide is momentary and comes with unpleasant side effects like nervousness, irritability and rapid heartbeat. the talk - page 100
6.Drink water when you’re bloated If you’re dehydrated, your body holds on to the water your body has, causing you to puff. So to avoid that, drinking water will prevent puffiness. 7.Ditch diet soda to lose weight You should ditch all soda. But research has found, people who drink diet soda actually consumed more calories and ate more resulting in weight gain. Diet soda may be less in calories but to keep the taste just as good, manufacturers have to replace it with additional sugars. 8.Drink a hot beverage to cool off When you drink a hot beverage, your body senses the change in temperature and increases your sweat production. Then, as the sweat evaporates from your skin, you cool off naturally. 9.Exercise when you’re tired After a long, exhausting workday, exercising sounds like the last thing you’d want to do, but getting your sweat on will actually energize you for the remainder of the day. 10.Get rid of antibacterial soap to prevent illness Research suggests that long-term exposure to some ingredients in these antibacterial products, such as triclosan, may cause health risks like bacterial resistance or hormonal effects.

Tell us more about yourself and what you do. I’m Thuraya Lynn, born in 1988. I am a self-taught Kuwaiti-Filipina illustrator and until the age of 6 I lived abroad. I lived in the Philippines for almost 4 years and even though it was brief, the memory of it still resonates in me and deeply affects my lines of thought. I studied literature at Kuwait University, from which I graduated in 2012. What materials do you use when drawing your art pieces? For the longest time I was using ink and pencil only. It’s only been a couple of months that I’ve used colors, I almost feel as though I’m taking very small baby steps in developing whatever skill I might have. Where do you go for inspiration? I think through the process of discovery and experimentation, my style and passion quickly changes. Back a few years I was fond of disturbing imageries and would enjoy disgusting my viewers even myself sometimes. But suddenly, these days I feel too soft inside, and now scary stuff spooks me out. I’m returning to the old memories of myself drawing when I was 5. I also remember, around that time, my uncles would be watching Lupin and sometimes Dragonball Z. I was totally hooked on these as a teen; I think I’m going back to that now; anime, cartoon, 2D fluff and gaming consoles. Also, I’m very fond of Ghibli movies. I’m also inspired by Nara Yoshitomo, Yoskay Yamamoto, Gary Baseman, Haruki Murakami and Winnie the Pooh. I am aware that drawing anime comes with a huge stigma, as it’s not considered “real art”. I think on an
unconscious level, I always pushed my own style in an effort to hide my anime influence. Little by little I think I’m getting over the shyness. What is your favourite piece that you have drawn? Why? I like them all. I can’t decide which could be my favourite; I’d stop drawing if I did… Does travelling influence your work? Not really. Last time I travelled to Goa nothing really happened. But the year before that, I’d been to London and I just stopped drawing scary fluff and diverted into cute and more minimal elements. And when I went to Japan, you would have thought that would have been my peak of influence recharge since it’s the mecca of anime… But instead I was only curious - not driven. After Japan, I briefly stopped drawing and did random personal photography. I guess travel overwhelms me too much; it changes something inside of me. What is your favourite city? Kamakura, Japan. Who has been your biggest supporter? I’m blessed to have good people around me. Luckily nobody’s come up to my face and said I suck... so far. I get the occasional sad moods and I can always go to my husband (@ahmad.alshammeri) for support. He’s a sweetheart and knows how to get me back on track. Also, my best friend of 9 years, Bedour Ahmad (@dochan26) has been there through all my ups and downs. I can never let go of these two.

You’ve been subjected to bullying while growing up, how to incorporate that into your illustrations? Drawing was more of an escape method for me, I used to draw creepy stuff because it almost embodied the fear I had of what someone would say or might do to me while growing up. Recently I’ve turned that into a positive perspective and started to infuse more colours, light, and welcoming portraits to my pallet, shifting my illustrations into a more whimsical direction has helped recreate my state of mind. What challenges have you faced in your career? Hmm, that’s tricky. I think ideally it’s good for anybody to make friends with the right folks, but I’m never good at making friends… I’m terrible at talking to people in real life, which becomes a difficulty when you are an artist and need to put your work out there. There are many challenges that I’ve faced when freelancing too. Many approach me with the idea that “exposure” is a good compensation. I mean, of course it’s great but it doesn’t really put food on the table. I’ve always wanted to live off my work but it’s nearly impossible when clients don’t take this line of industry seriously and get into the attitude that “You love drawing so you should love this one too!” Of course I’m passionate about drawing but I also have goals and I can’t achieve them if I turn into a hungry artist. What can we expect to see from you next professionally? I’m currently taking a break from day jobs and finalizing my debut in the fashion industry while participating in several art shows. And I plan on dedicating a lot of my time to finishing my book that I’ve been writing for nearly one year. I’ll also be participating in an art exhibition with JAMM Art Gallery in Dubai for Abolish153 which will be a charity-fund raising event. Marina Abramoviec The Performance Artist
If words were urged to be put together, trying to explain the act of emotions in one’s life, it would be almost impossible.
the talk - page 110
Marina Abramavic has planted an intense notion through her performances; using her body as an installation to grasp the audiences’’ conscience resulting into drawing a steady line under the same state of mind. Marina Abramavic was born in 1946 in Belgrade, Yugoslavia under a strict household. Her mother never comforted her as one would intend on doing, yet she was supportive of her interest in art. Rhythm 10 was the name of Marina’s first performance in Edinburgh in 1973.
Marina had the tendency to experiment with her body, inflicting pain on herself by laying down on the table twenty sets of knives, picking one up and aiming the tip of the knife in between her fingers and moving the knife at a certain speed, when she’d cut herself, she would throw the knife she was using and pick up a new one from the table. She would then record the sounds of the movement she performed to reenact it, trying to fix any mistakes she has done. After the performance of Rhythm 10, she then realized that once the human body goes into a state of performance, the talk - page 111

it starts to act in a way no one would ever expect it to. For years, Marina has worked in projecting this vivid image in her head of modern art into the real world. Following Rhythm 10 was her other performances which are Rhythm 5, Rhythm 2, and Rhythm 0 all in 1974. All of these performances had one thing in common, which is pushing herself to the limits physically and mentally. There were a few times where Marina had been subjected to physical pain from her audience, allowing them to do whatever they want with her to experiment just how
the talk - page 112
far the human would go if they were given the permission to. In 1976 Marina moved to Amsterdam where she met a West German performance artist, Uwe Laysiepen who went by the name Ulay. They started to perform together leading them to successfully portray a span of prominent collaborative work. Relation in Space, Relation in Movement, Breathing in/Breathing out, Imponderabilia, and Rest Energy were performed by Marina and Ulay where they rendered the stages of a relationship.
From clashing their bodies onto one another multiple times; creating a third component called “that self” by mixing the female and male energy, to balancing each other on opposite sides with a bow and arrow in between them with the arrow pointed at Abramavic’s heart. After years of an intense relationship between Ulay and Marina, they both decided to go on a spiritual journey to end their relationship in 1988. This emotional journey was a performance called “The Great Wall Walk” where they would both walk the Great Wall of China from opposite ends, meeting in the middle. After 2500 kilometers of walking, they finally said their goodbyes.
From March 14 to May 31, 2010, Marina Abramavic began a performance piece called “The Artist is Present” where she had set up 2 chairs and a table in the Middle of MoMA Museum in New York. She sat in silence for 736 hours and 30 minutes with nothing to share but eye contact with her audience as they took turns sitting on the chair across from her. A variety of emotions from spectators of all ages emerged during this act, some smiled, some frowned, some cried, and some just blankly sat there as if they were challenging her performance, it was almost as if she was their own reflection.

Featuring digital displayed art this year How far can your creativity go with a can of Red Bull?
Ever thought how far one can go with creativity with just a can of Red Bull? Think again. Following the success of Red Bull Art of Can 2011, the event is returning this year and will be giving talents from Kuwait the chance to go with inspiration to new heights. The masterpiece can be anything – a sculpture, a painting, photography, dress, music, movie, and digital illustration.
the talk - page 114
This year, a new category will be featured; in addition to the physical art, the digital displayed art will be introduced to the competition for the first time. The physical piece of art should include the actual Red Bull can as the primary material in the final work. However, the digital displayed art is a work of art that can be displayed on a screen and should include a digital version of the Red Bull can in the final piece. Submissions could take the form of an animation, a digital short film, stop motion, or GIF.
The Red Bull Art of Can offers a platform for anyone, regardless of age, who wants to explore his or her creative talent. Artists, students, grandparents and all those in between are invited to submit their works of art. The Red Bull Art of Can is a true expression of one’s imagination, with little or no restrictions placed on the budding artist. Your primary material/inspiration must be a Red Bull can, but you will need to add plenty of imagination and creativity. Make a sculpture, a picture, a 3D model, a mobile, digital the talk - page 115

Mini and “This Day Forward” Extraordinary short film by Oscar-winner Joachim Back marks the launch of the new MINI Convertible
MINI has launched the third phase of the new MINI Convertible campaign with the release of the short film “This Day Forward” on the campaign website mini.com/stayopen and on YouTube. The film was directed by award winning director Joachim Back, who won the Oscar for Best Short Film for “The New Tenants” in 2010. Reason or passion? The film’s unique narrative mechanism, which reveals different facets and details of the story step by step, creates suspense and visualises the implications of Jake’s dilemma. With this story, the short film personifies in Jake both the MINI target group’s positive and cosmopolitan attitude to life and the character of the new MINI Convertible – freethinking and open-minded, with a zest for life. The short film is the heart of the global MINI Convertible campaign. The campaign claim “Stay Open” symbolises the diversity of its target group and ties in with the “Always Open” campaign for the previous model. Porsche 718 Boxster
The new mid-engine roadster with a four-cylinder engine
the talk - page 136
20 years after the first Boxster made its debut, Porsche is restructuring its mid-engine roadsters. With the introduction of new versions of its two-seater convertible, Porsche continues the tradition of fourcylinder flat engines used in the 718 mid-engine sports cars that won numerous races back in the 1950s and 1960s. The newly developed engine with turbocharging result in the 718 Boxster developing 300 hp (220 kW) from 2.0 litres of engine displacement. The 718 Boxster S, on the other hand, now produces 350hp (257 kW) from 2.5 litres of displacement, using a turbocharger with variable turbine geometry (VTG). Porsche is the only manufacturer to offer VTG technology
in production cars with petrol-driven engines, both in the 911 Turbo and in the 718 Boxster S. The two Boxster models feature a considerable power gain of 35 hp (26 kW) compared to their predecessors. Thanks to the new turbo engines, efficiency has been improved, resulting in up to 13 per cent lower fuel consumption. The new chassis tuning and stronger brakes facilitate passionate and sporty driving. The exterior design of the new 718 Boxster was also completely revised. The interior now houses a newly designed dash panel that includes the latest generation of Porsche Communication Management (PCM), with a state-of-the-art touchscreen as standard as well as the optional navigation module. the talk - page 137

Life Style - Horoscopes
horoscopes Aries (Mar. 21-April 20)
Taurus (Apr. 21-May 21)
Gemini (May 22-june 21)
You are becoming more aware of your potentials and how to actualize these abilities you have. It is vital right now that you recognize your weaknesses and learn how to manage and minimize the way in which they hold you back. This month is perfect to move on and leave stuff that has affected you behind in the past. Self-doubt is self-defeating right now; be who you really are, the driven, energetic go getting, entrepreneurial Arian, who never gets down for long.
In March, you will be forced to deal with something you are not comfortable with. You may have to work in an environment where you are really uncomfortable with the prevailing attitudes. You will be pushed beyond your comfort zone. This is an opportunity to grow and be more open and accepting. Work will get busier as the month goes on with more interactions with clients and customers, you may travel to promote a product or sell to a new client.
There is a great emphasis on reputation and status in life for Gemini this month. You may well find yourself rewarded, especially if you are in a field like research, academia or teaching. If your public profile is important to you, this is a terrific month to re-launch or rebrand yourself – find a new audience or expand beyond your current genre. Love can easily blossom this spring, so don’t let anything hold you back.
Libra (Sept. 24-Oct. 23)
Scorpio (Oct. 24-Nov. 22)
Sagittarius (Nov. 23-Dec. 21)
The focus in March 2016 for the Libra sign is very much on health. If you are looking to start a new diet or health diet to improve your overall well-being and fitness, anything you start now can be very successful, and you will stick to it. Quit smoking or quit sugar, but whatever you do, think more about your diet and your lifestyle and switch bad habits to more healthy habits.
While it’s true that our work or career does not always fulfill us, it is often via hobbies and pastimes that we can connect with our true purpose or calling and feel a sense of meaning. In March 2016 it’s an ideal time to make time in your life to do the things that create meaning and allow you freedom to express yourself. Looking at your goals and making future plans which you will work towards is the key.
For Sagittarius, in March 2016 the focus is very much on the home: this may be the month you decide to move home. Family relationships will also demand your attention – these are mainly parental relationships. The way you relate to and communicate with your parents is very important right now – changes within your parents’ lives may bring you closer to them or previously unknown information about your parents or your background may come to light.
the talk - page 144
Cancer (June 22-july 22)
Leo (July 23-aug 22)
You may need to take an ethical or moral stand on some issues; you will be the one to provide leadership on issues that are contentious and emotional. March should see breakthroughs for those Cancerians who work in law, publishing, universities and religion. It is a very opportune month for study and travel as your mind is very open to new experiences and ways of thinking.
You should see the things that happen during this month (no matter whether good or bad) as happening for an important reason – a reason that will benefit you in the longer term.“We don’t always get what we want, but we always get what we need,” as the song goes. Sometimes we do the right thing for the wrong reason – maybe in March 2016, you should not do anything if your heart is not in it, or the results will not be what you expect.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 23) There is a big focus on interpersonal communication, both intimate and business. The way you see yourself is affected both positively and indeed, negatively, but those you are close to or those you associate with business-wise. Relationships can be a great area of learning and selfevolvement in this month– we often dislike people who have traits that we do not like in ourselves, so it is worth examining those who you take a dislike to and asking yourself what they can teach you about yourself and how you can change for the better.
Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 20)
Aquarius (Jan. 21-Feb. 19)
Pisces (Feb. 20-Mar. 20)
If you have been putting something off, now is the time to tackle it – you may actually be putting something off for no good reason at all – the best way is to tackle it and get it sorted out before the thing you are putting off becomes an even bigger hurdle in your mind. For Capricorn, March 2016 will be filled with variety, and you will meet many new people. Communication is a theme in both business and your personal life.
The urge to be extravagant and to buy things which make you feel good is high right now, and yes, we all love some retail therapy, and what is wrong with enjoying yourself? However, make sure what you do spend on makes you happy, and it is not a quick fix or a rush that leaves you feeling empty and unfulfilled later. A sense of ‘I can’ and ‘I will thrive and survive’ is very strong right now, and that will propel you on with confidence. There is an ability within you right now to renew yourself at a very deep level.
March 2016 is a very important month for Pisces as the solar eclipse is giving you a boost of energy and personal power. This is a wonderful time to start new projects and initiate new activities that can change your life. This is also a time of health turnabouts – take your health in hand and look into new diets, fitness regimes or lifestyles that can improve your energy, the way you feel about yourself and your vitality. Working on this aspect of life you can strengthen your personality and project yourself into the world with more confidence. the talk - page 145
