Update on dredging projects

We knew going into it that the dredging of the Treybyrne and Lake Mulberry detention ponds was going to be a long process. We have made significant progress with both of these projects and would like to update everyone on where we are with these projects.

treybyrne

The pile of dirt that was pulled out of the Treybyrne detention pond and piled onto the neighboring field is drying out a bit quicker than expected. That area should be dried out enough in the next month or two for our contractor to complete the first grading. This will, most likely, not be the only grading that is required to get the field back to a useable amenity. While we continue this process, we will also continue to monitor the silt coming into the pond to get to a regular maintenance schedule that is predictable and can be integrated into the reserve study.

Lake Mulberry

The Board has signed the contract to dredge all of the entry ways into Lake Mulberry as well as install a permanent entry way that will also allow for a regular dredging of the silt coming in near the dock. Unfortunately, due to a backlog of work the contractor, most likely, will not be able to start work on the project until later this year. The other thing to note is that there is no way to create a regular maintenance plan for the silt coming into the ponds from streams that run through neighborhoods. Since most of the silt that comes through these streams builds up on private property the Board of Directors realizes that this is an issue that needs to be addressed. Therefore, we have asked an engineering firm to give us an estimate to complete a study on water flow coming through these streams. As usual we appreciate your patience as we work to complete this major initiative and work toward restoring both of these amenities to their original beauty.

We

as

Greetings Hamilton Mill!

I’m very excited to join the team. My goal is to grow and develop the sport of Pickleball in the neighborhood. My name is Mike Conlon. I spent most of my life playing competitive tennis as well as other sports. After a few knee surgeries, I was introduced to Pickleball and was immediately hooked. Pickleball is a very fun and social sport, while still providing the opportunity to fuel the most competitive of fires. I look forward to meeting you and providing support and resources to further you in your Pickleball journey.

Thank you, Mike Conlon

We would also like to welcome Andrew Moseley to our Tennis Professional team!!

Born and raised in Georgia, Andrew was a competitive junior tournament player from the age of seven. After majoring in Criminal Justice at the University of Georgia, Andrew chose to pursue his two true passions - tennis and teaching. Andrew brings 15 years of coaching experience to our team, especially enjoying helping young players to love the sport. He continues to play competitively, having won adult leagues in singles. “I’m excited to join the team at Hamilton Mill, and I cannot wait to share my experience and connect with you all through the sport that I love”!
