Happy Holidays! From:

Frosty's Fable By Allison de la Garza, Staff Writer Many people know the tale of Frosty the Snowman, but few know where the story originally came from. The tale was introduced as a song written by Steve Nelson and Jack Rollins during Christmas in 1950. The song describes a snowman that comes to life when children placed a magic silk hat on his head. The children and Frosty spend a fun day together until he melts. It quickly gained popularity throughout the world and led to the production of a holiday TV special featuring Frosty in the 1960s. The special expanded the overall story the song conveys, giving Frosty more character. In 1976, another holiday special aired in which Frosty becomes friends with the children, so they marry him to a lady snowman. All of these stories have shaped Frosty into the iconic holiday character he is today.
