Food for Love and Bayleys Wanaka have joined forces with local restaurants and cafes to launch a heartwarming initiative named 'Plate Up For Love' this November. This campaign combines generosity with delectable dishes, all in support of local charity, Food For Love. Running for the month of November, ‘Plate Up For Love’ extends an invitation to both Wānaka residents and visitors to savour culinary delights while making a difference in the community. The participating establishments include Amigos, b.social, Edgewater, Hello Ranger, Tititea Steak House, Urban Grind, Spice Room, and Relishes. Each of these eateries has created or selected a signature dish which they are going to plate up for love. The concept is elegantly straightforward, yet

profoundly heartwarming. When a customer orders the designated dish at any of these restaurants, a portion of the proceeds automatically goes to Food For Love. Jodie Stuart, General Manager at Food For Love, expressed her gratitude, saying, "We are deeply moved by this initiative. It not only helps us to continue to provide home-cooked meals to people in our community who are going through a challenging time, but it also reinforces the idea that everyone can make a difference." MY COMMUNITY NEWS Event Celebrates QEII Covenant on Fish & Game Wetland A public presentation on 11 November will celebrate the placing of a Queen Elizabeth II National Trust (QEII) covenant on Bullock Creek Hatchery Springs wetland in Wānaka. The covenant will ensure protection for the 2-hectare wetland, a former fish hatchery owned by Otago Fish & Game Council, at the headwaters of Bullock Creek. The presentation will also recognise the contributions of more than 6000 volunteer hours of maintenance & plant restoration work by Friends of Bullock Creek (FOBC) and their partners, the Department of Corrections work parties. In an awesome display of community spirit, the people of Wānaka continue to support Friends of MAC (Mount Aspiring College) in their endeavor to build an adventure playground. The latest contribution to fundraising is the Wānaka edition Monopoly board: a portion of preorders through MAC are earmarked for the playground, and a portion to supporting Food for Love. This fantastic support from the Wānaka Chamber comes after a year of fundraising efforts that have seen community members and MAC families donate; and the Friends of MAC, teachers, and students work hard to raise money.
