Each year the Upper Clutha Youth Council and Kāhu Youth present the Youth Volunteer Awards, a celebration of the value and positive contribution youth make in our community.
This year’s Youth Volunteer Awards will be held at the Lake Wānaka Centre, Friday 13 September. On the night all volunteers who have been nominated will be recognised for their contribution to our community. Awards and awesome prizes will be given to winners across four age categories, with a Supreme Award for the most outstanding youth volunteer overall.
"Volunteering is essential for all ages, but it's particularly impactful for youth. It helps them develop empathy, build a sense of responsibility, and connect to something bigger than
YOUTH VOLUNTEER AWARDS
themselves. Through giving, young people gain invaluable life skills and a deeper understanding of their role in the community," said Jo Lewis, Volunteer Manager.
Do you know a young person aged 11 to 24 who has made a difference through volunteering? Nominate them for The Youth Volunteer Awards so we can celebrate their contributions and give them the recognition they deserve.
To nominate a youth volunteer; scan the QR code or visit kahuyouth.org/kahu-youth-events All nominees must be between 11 and 18 years of age. They must be completely voluntary acts. Community service work and paid work will not be considered. Applications close Friday, 30 August. For info email volunteer@kahuyouthtrust.org
