Daffodil Day, the Cancer Society of New Zealand’s flagship event, is one of the most important fundraising and awareness campaigns in the country. The Daffodil, as the ‘symbol of hope’, is used by cancer organisations all over the world. Twenty eight years on, the nation’s involvement in the Daffodil Day Appeal will be celebrated by everyone (young and old) in many innovative ways, and Wanaka is no exception. Everyone knows someone who is or has been affected by cancer, and Wanaka needs volunteer carer/support people. For more information, please visit: www.cancernz.org.nz. Still needed are volunteers for Daffodil Day itself, to help out on various donation tables around Wanaka. A gifted hour of your time to greet people of the community, including visitors, and put a smile on their faces... the

setting up and packing up of a donation table is a great help too. However large or small your volunteering contribution, please know it will have a big impact. Pre-selling order forms for bunches of daffodils and teddy bears around Wanaka’s CBD is well under way this week.
