We’ll have our usual workshops and kapa haka performances, a ‘story corner’ for the little ones, two bonfires on the shore with poi all around and loads more. There are also a few surprises littered throughout the afternoon and evening and to finish it off we will be having our amazing fireworks – thanks once again to Light up Wanaka - so make sure you hang about!

Doreen, Russell, Julie, Paula, Grant and their families thank you for all the love and support shown to us in the loss of our much loved husband, father, father-in-law, Poppa and Grandpop. Also many thanks for the cards, flowers, baking and phone calls which gave us all comforting support. Thank you to all those who attended the service for Bryan and especially those who travelled long distances. The overwhelming turnout was a huge tribute to Bryan. Thank you to the local Fire Brigades for their contributions to the service, their guard of honour outside the church and Fire Station and for the escort through town on Bryan’s final journey. Thank you to Ian Hyslop for his meaningful service, our organist Cheryl Taylor, Michael Hyndman for the slideshow, Jason John for the video of the service and Catherine Little and Presbyterian women for the afternoon tea. This week sees the start of the ski season and the winter work for Police has certainly started. A snippet of this weeks incidents: We have had two alcohol related assaults reported to us this week from a local bar resulting in two offenders being spoken to by Police. Three people were also dealt with this weekend for drink driving. Two appearing before the court and one issued an Infringement Notice for a reading between 250 and 400 micrograms of alcohol per litre of breath.
