This Christmas, Ray White will continue its popular tradition of giving with the return of ‘A Little Ray of Giving.’

The inspiring Christmas campaign will see Ray White, along with Community Networks, help disadvantaged children and families who may need a little extra light in their festive season.

Ray White asks the community to embrace the giving season and dig deep for children who need it most.

This gift drive is a really simple way to help put a smile on the face of children and families who may need some extra cheer at this time of year.

Those who wish to donate a gift just need to inform the Ray White team if the gift is for a boy or girl, and nominate an age group. The team will ensure the gift is delivered to a Community Networks disadvantaged child and help put a smile on their face this Christmas.

It’s a really simple way to put a smile on the face of a young child who might otherwise go without this Christmas; just a small gift can make the biggest difference to families who are struggling at an expensive time of year.

All you need to do is wrap up your present and drop it under the tree at Ray White, 1 Helwick Street.

As the town prepares itself for the busy holiday period, local police have attended a number of incidents over the last seven days, so here is a summary: On Monday 7th December, a male driver was dealt with for failing to provide his driver licence details as the Land Transport Act outlines.

On 8th December a tourist from South America crashed his car at the Luggate Cutting on SH6.

Police also received a theft complaint from a local business involving a staff member, which is being investigated.

On the 9th, we received a fraud complaint involving TradeMe and a payment of $470.00.

On that same day Police dealt with a driver licence suspension for excess demerit points resulting in a 3 month suspension.

On 10th December a childs scooter was reported stolen from outside the Albert Town Tavern.

On Friday the 11th a local male was processed for drink driving and UHFHLYHG GHPHULW SRLQWV DQG D ÂżQH On Saturday the 12th, Police received a complaint that a 16yr old local lad had taken his parents car for a joy ride with two mates.

Enquiries are being made into the matter.

That evening a local male was processed for assaulting police after KH UHIXVHG WR OHDYH 3RVW 2IÂżFH /DQH That night a local male was processed for drink driving and received a ÂżQH DQG GHPHULW SRLQWV IRU KLV HIIRUWV Finally, on 13 December, Police attended a domestic incident in Kings Drive and a single vehicle crash at Makarora, both late afternoon.

Meanwhile, we continue to attend the many driving complaints in the area and ask motorists to continue to use *555 to report these so we can prevent more serious incidents occurring. We will continue to target those driving while using cell phones and those breaking the speed limits.
