Whoever ordered the excess amount of cloud recently, can we please have sun? It was nice to see it for a short amount of time on the weekend. Here are just a few of the incidents that the Wanaka police dealt with this week: Police assisted Ambulance staff to uplift a male who was out enjoying the weather on the Deans Bank track. He fell from his mountain bike and sustained an injury, requiring assistance. Mount Aspiring College reported that dead rabbits were left around the school and inappropriate pictures sprayed into the grass with round-up weed killer. This was an end of year prank that was taken too far. Please think before you act and remember your actions have consequences. Two vehicles were broken into between 12pm and 2.30pm on Friday 11th November. One of the vehicles had two bags stolen from it. There is a common misbelief that thefts only occur at night. This is not the case. Please lock your house and vehicles during the day and do not leave items visible in vehicles. A female was processed for excess breath alcohol with a result of 316mg/l and received an infringement notice. A member of the public phoned Police to report that someone was driving on the wrong side of the road. The male driver was processed for excess breath alcohol with a result of 528mg/l and received a court date. A male discovered that all four tyres on two vehicles had been punctured at an address in Wilkin Road.
