M A K E A N I M PA C T The Wanaka Chamber of Commerce has unveiled a bold new strategic direction for its members and the local business community.

For the past 12 months, the Chamber board has been reviewing the organisation’s strategic objectives, its core functions and why it exists in a bid to grow membership and add value to its existing members.

The new vision is “Make an Impact” – meaning the Chamber will “celebrate success, think fast, be bold and brave, foster collaboration and do it all brilliantly”. A new name for the Chamber is also possible, with the working title of Ignite: Driven by the Wanaka Chamber of Commerce mooted. A rebrand – the next step in the process – will consider the idea of a new name and logo.

“We still belong to the national Chamber network and our core functions of encouraging growth, people and support haven’t changed. But we want to engage our membership and help drive them to be part of a thriving local economy,” Chamber chairman Alistair King says.

Chamber board members are: Alistair King (chair), Bridget Legnavsky (deputy chair), Lisa Chambers, Cyril Coombe, Celia Crosbie, Kelly Good, Mike Toepfer, Francesca Voza and Lyal Cocks (QLDC ex-officio). New Executive Assistant is Naomi Lindsay.
