Police attended three crashes this week. One was near the Makarora township, another at the Ballantyne and Golf Course Road corner and one on the Wanaka Mt Aspiring Road, about 15km from town. Please remember there are many more vehicles on the road at this time of year, so stay vigilant and watch what is going on around you.

We received two reports of theft from cars in Matai Road and Rata Street. This is a good reminder to "lock it or lose it" and keep any property in vehicles hidden or don't leave it in the vehicle at all.

Two drink drivers were processed this week. One ended up with a $200 ticket and 50 demerit points. The other blew a large amount and is off to court - where a prison term, large fine and disqualification are available to the Judge.

Make a plan to get home before you go out so you won’t be tempted to get behind the wheel after a night of celebratory drinks.

Police dealt with one domestic dispute this week that saw a male issued with a Police Safety Order.

A resident in Luggate was woken by a person outside their house. If any one knows anything about the identity of this person, could they inform the Wanaka Police.

Fighting, disorderly behaviour, theft and wilful damage saw three people being arrested. Enquiries are ongoing relating to a sign that was broken and a bike that was stolen from outside two Ardmore Street addresses.

Would the owner/driver of a gold Holden Ute, parked on Totara Terrace on Monday night (22/12/14) come and see me.
