As they say - patience is a virtue. With rental vehicles everywhere and events galore, patience is a good quality to have. When it comes to travelling on our roads we all need patience and really, at the end of the day, if we take our time and work together we can all get around more easily than in the cities.

Well done to everyone that competed in the Wanaka Challenge on the weekend and to all the volunteers and supporters who make it such a fantastic event.

Here is a summary of the jobs we’ve attended this week.

A male driver was processed for driving with excess blood alcohol.

There have been a lot of crashes on our roads this week. We had two separate nose to tail crashes on State Highway 84.

A cyclist was struck at the intersection of Kane Road and State Highway 8A after a motorist failed to see a cyclist approaching and turned in front of him. The cyclist received a hematoma to his left leg and a sore wrist. The driver of the vehicle received an infringement notice.

At the roundabout on Ardmore Street and Brownston Street a vehicle failed to give way to another vehicle on the right and was struck causing minor damage. The driver of the vehicle that failed to give way received an infringement notice.

A dog kennel has been taken from a Luggate address. It is a plastic dog kennel with a green roof and cream coloured sides.

Found property is being handed in on a weekly basis, especially wallets, sets of keys and cell phones. Please call into the station if you think your lost property has been handed in. Thanks also to the honesty of the Wanaka public.

Our advice, at this stage, is to hold off upgrading to Windows 10, particularly if you are running Windows 7.

We have seen a number of customers who have upgraded, experienced issues, then want to roll back. This is possible but is not always 100% clean.
