This year the ‘Wanaka Alpha Club Inc’ 22nd Annual Fundraiser will be in the form of a Monster Raffle for 2015, in place of the House Tour. It will be drawn on the 3rd November and we are delighted to assist two groups, the Hawea Kindergarten and the Wanaka Associated Football Club, in essence, supporting the Youth of the Upper Clutha. Our advice, at this stage, is to hold off upgrading to Windows 10, particularly if you are running Windows 7. We have seen a number of customers who have upgraded, experienced issues, then want to roll back. This is possible but is not always 100% clean. Don’t worry, the “free” upgrade is available until next August, so we recommend waiting until Windows 10 has been out for a few more months and most of the bugs are sorted.

Rotary Roundup September – October 2015 September & October were very intense months, with the spring cleanup at Tititea Lodge, Wanakafest BBQ, collecting, sorting & pricing of books for the early October Book Sale and the preparation for the Duck Race, later in the month. The final culmination of the busy period was the movie Night at the Paradiso, ‘A Walk in the Woods’, the last fundraising activity for awhile. Meanwhile the club was entertained with interesting speakers, such as Karen Purdue, District Governor for Rotary 9980, Ella Lawton from QLDC, talking about Light Boxes & Fish Hatchery, Desiree Whitaker from Cardrona Whiskey Distillery, Paul Tamati , ‘Stars in your Eyes’, and James Helmore of Wanaka Tourism.
