Recently the Creative Fibre and Artful Crafters’ Groups, led by Heather Kerr, organised the Art at Home event included in the Festival of Colour programme. This fund-raiser for the Wanaka Community House Building Fund, the first by a potential tenant of the facility, resulted in over $7,000 being raised.

The Wanaka Creative Fibre Group meet twice a month to share their many talents in textile and fibre arts, to participate in various projects and to socialize. Their door is always open to visitors and new members, all welcome. Check The Messenger for time and venue.

Other recent Creative Fibre projects include two special ANZAC works – one in Paper Plus and the other an installation of an eye-catching

commemorative banner at Mitre 10, led by Jane Baker and Di Lightfoot.

HOUSING ASSISTANCE? Community Housing Trust – Information Evening

The Queenstown Lakes Community Housing Trust (QLCHT) was created to manage and deliver affordable housing solutions to those vital to the community who cannot afford it. The intent of the Trust is to provide housing for low to moderate income households through a range of programmes such as Affordable Rental, Rent Saver and Shared Ownership.
