Happy 14th Birthday Mini Muscles for April 17th. Mini Muscles is an established, community activity and meeting place for local families with young children. We provide support and education for parents and new babies, in movement and development, through to fun and challenging activities for crawlers, toddlers and preschoolers.

This week has been a typical Warbirds week in Wanaka with the many visitors enjoying the Air Show as well as our beautiful town. Apart from a fatal motor accident at Queensberry leading up to the air show, and a couple of aircraft malfunctions during the event, there were a few of the same old issues happening locally to be dealt with by local Police. On the 23rd of March a local man was issued with a driver suspension notice for excess demerit points. Also that day a long term visitor to town was processed for drink driving after driving a friend’s car home and crashing it into a parked van on Kings Drive. 0RUH JUDI¿WL GDPDJH KDV EHHQ UHSRUWHG LQ WKH WRLOHWV DW the skate park. On the 25th, Police, Fire and Ambulance attended the fatal motor accident at Queensberry. That evening a male was processed for drink driving when driving off from the lakefront car park area. A taxi home would have been a better choice. On the 26th a female driver was processed for drink GULYLQJ ZKHQ VWRSSHG DW D WUDI¿F FKHFNSRLQW On the 27th an assault on a female was investigated after she complained of being involved in an incident when walking home alone. Wanaka is a very safe place to live but it is more sensible to walk home with a friend. On the 28th, SAR were involved in a rescue at Colin Todd Hut where a male had a fall and was airlifted out with an ankle injury. Local Police also attended a domestic incident which was resolved when one party moved out of the address. The roads are still busy with visitors and tourists, so be alert and call *555 if there are any serious driving issues to report. Police will continue to monitor drivers for seatbelts, cell phone usage and speed on local roads. Have a safe week.
