When is a good starting point to setup a consult?... We get asked this question often. We encourage our brides to wait to set up a floral meeting until they have their ceremony location, reception venue, bride and bridesmaids dresses selected. These are key elements that really help determine the floral design that will make your wedding dream a reality. What do you need to bring for the floral consult?... It really helps to have a picture of the wedding gown and bridesmaids dresses. Also if you have dress sample swatches, this helps select ribbon and colors. Pinterest has become a wonderful thing.... It helps to have your Pinterest boards organized for bouquets and boutonnieres, ceremony, and reception styles. How much do flowers cost?... This is a general question, with an extremely broad answer. The cost of flowers has many variables such as seasonal availability, whether your flowers are picked up at the studio or they are delivered to your ceremony location, and the size and scale of your reception venue and guest list. You will know the cost of the flowers after you meet with a potential florist and receive a quote for their services. Decorative trends?... The 2016 floral trends we are seeing are soft, romantic tones, with textural accents such as greens/foliage and ribbons.

Services provided by your florist?... It’s important to understand all the services that your potential florist has to offer. Ask what their floral planning process is and how many meetings to expect. There are many potential options to keep in mind. • The option of in studio pickup • If bouquets are cut and in vases • If corsages and boutonnières are labeled and if other floral needs are boxed or if you need to provide this. • Delivery- if the florist delivers just to the ceremony location and drops off, or if they stay and assist with corsages and boutonnières. • Reception- be sure that the florist sets up all floral arrangements and inquire about takedown services at the end of the night. This is a huge stress reliever for the wedding couple and family! #1: Trust your instincts. When it comes to finding the perfect dress, the options are endless and it is easy to get overwhelmed. Once you find a dress that makes you feel like a beautiful bride, don’t question it. Remember, this is the most special dress you will wear, so trust the one that makes you feel happy, confident, beautiful, and bridal. #2: Keep an open mind. Most brides come in with an idea of what they are looking for in a bridal gown. While some brides find just that, it is also very common for brides to choose a dress that is nothing like what they pictured. If your consultant pulls a dress for you, there are a number of reasons why she thinks it would be a good fit for you. Go ahead and try it on! And you never know, you might just find the perfect dress.

#3 : Don’t buy online. We know it is tempting to go for the best deal possible, but buying a designer gown from an unauthorized retailer can lead to months of headaches and heartache. Trust your local boutiques to take care of you and provide you with the expertise you need while making this critical decision. #4: Let the dress set the tone. If you are a visionary and have a clear idea of what you want your special day to look like, buy the bridal gown first to make sure it complements your vision. The dress can set the standard for the bridesmaids dress, tuxedos or suits, and décor, so choose your dress first so you can wear the dress you love at the wedding you’ve always wanted. #5: Once you’ve said yes, stop looking! There will always be new styles that are going to catch your eye, so spare yourself the trouble and remember that the dress you picked was the one that made you feel better than ever.

#6: Coordinate your bridesmaids. After you’ve selected your dress, bridesmaids dresses are next. Brides always ask if they should try to match the bridesmaids to the bridal gown. When Shannon & Rob got engaged they knew they wanted the ceremony at her parent’s home. They wanted a romantic yet slightly vintage and soft feel to the day. Dreamy pastels & lush greens set the tone for their stunning and inimate backyard wedding! White rose petals decorated the aisle and were flanked by rustic bamboo chairs in Shannon’s parent’s backyard in De Pere, WI. After the ceremony guests enjoyed hors d’vours before taking in the rest of the evening at Thornberry Creek where the tables were filled with a beautiful mixture of gold and blush accents.

REAL WEDDING KATIE & KENT AUGUST 22, 2015 © DEFINING 78 Bring on the color! Katie & Kent’s wedding was filled with bold yet elegant hues of purple, blue and teal. Katie’s stunning lace wedding gown with plunging neckline set the tone for the event. The setting at the American Club in Kohler was gorgeous for an outdoor garden ceremony. Inside the American Club awaited a vibrant reception rocking with a band. Dramatic lighting created a romantic backdrop where the florals could standout. And the cake was the showstopper for the evening. It stayed out the entire night for guests to visit its beauty. Tiny feet of the dancers the bride teaches filled the dancefloor with smiles. Guests were left with a glimpse of how fun and colorful this couple is.

Natural, flowy, and colorful! Tim & Milada’s backyard ceremony & reception were nothing short of magical! They wanted a rustic whimsical theme that still carried an air of elegance and romance. Dream catchers were hung from chandeliers, Moroccan lanterns lined the tables, the meditation tent housed couches and pillows for guests to relax, while peach ruffled chair covers brightened up the tent area.

• See if your band or dj has an option to start at cocktail hour and continue playing through dinner and the entire reception. • Ensure that you will have a sound system to do speeches, prayers, and announcements. While many venues have a house sound system, ensure that you are satisfied with the sound quality before the wedding day. • Find out at booking if the band/dj will announce your bridal party into the room at dinner or dancing. • Find out what their typical attire is for their events. If you are having a black tie affair the band/dj should match.

You may choose to plan a menu that highlights the area: Friday Fish Fry, Cheese Curds, Brats, Old Fashions, Local Beer or Wine. You may also choose to show off the culinary expertise in Green Bay by using such caterers as: Runaway Spoon, Traveling Chef, Hinterland Brewery, or Chefusion.
You can choose to do just a rehearsal dinner and include your bridal party, parents & siblings. You may also choose to invite all the out of town guests to a welcome celebration. Do you have to invite everyone coming to the wedding? The answer is no. You may want to have your formal rehearsal dinner with your bridal party, parents, and siblings. After that is complete you could invite the “out of towners” to join you for welcome cocktails & appetizers.
Location & Logistics Based on your anticipated guest list look at various options for a location. Pick a restaurant that is special to you as a couple/ family. Local options could include Bleu, Chives, Salt, Plae Bistro, A’Bravo, Brett Favres, Hagemeister, Kokos, The Cannery - there are so many amazing options. If the restaurant isn’t large enough for your group a tent is an option at some locations. There are many iconic places in our area that people from out of town love to visit: 1919 at Lambeau Field, Titletown Brewery & Krolls are just a few. Some weddings love Green Bay for Lambeau Field. Renting a local tailgate home is a fun option to offer a more BBQ type setting or a way to use your favorite caterer. You may also want to treat your guests to an “experience” before the dinner which could include the Packers Hall of Fame, Lambeau Tour, a trip to the National Railroad Museum, Green Bay Botanical Garden Tickets, or local golfing or fishing. Consider a location close to your hotel where guests are staying, or if transportation will be needed look into using Uber Groups to make sure your guests get a safe ride home if you aren’t arranging group transportation.
Timing Consider where the guests are coming from and their arrival. Make sure to be mindful of when guests are arriving and what time various wedding activities are scheduled for. 28

SUNDAY FAREWELL OR BRUNCH Don’t forget to give your guests a proper send off after the wedding without a heartfelt thank you. Guests love to see the bride & groom the day after the wedding to say congrats one last time. It is an excellent way to thank them as well, if you were too consumed on the wedding day with pictures, special moments, sitting at dinner, etc. This goodbye can be as easy as a buffet/brunch at the hotel where you are staying. Parents could also host this at their home and include fruits, bagels, muffins, juices and coffee. Or it could be at a restaurant
WELCOME BAGS Greet your out of town guests with a welcome bag in their hotel room! Include items such as: Itinerary of the weekend, bottled water List of favorite restaurants Personalize the bags with local favorites: Cheese curds, small bottles of wine/beer, and a local sweet

REAL WEDDING
The couple envisioned a day of slightly rustic touches with the elegance of Oneida Country Club. The day started at the gorgeous Old St. Joes on the St. Norbert College Campus. It was filled with friends and family from around the country. The couple looked absolutely stunning and timeless in their picked attire. Classic black tuxes for the men and lace for the bride made a stunning statement. The perfect blend of elegance and romance set the tone for Kelsey & Matthew’s big day! Gold tones warmed the venue from the Chiavari chairs to the votives, vases and candelabras on the tables. While the combination of hydrangas and roses in soft blushes, pinks, and whites filled the tables.
