SARAH KATHLEEN
In today's world, dreams are few and far between. But not in a world like Oz,where "the dreams you dare to dream really do come true". And so, a band of dreamers got together and brought Oz to life. We were inspired by the whimsy of things like a yellow (or gold, in our case) brick road, bubbles, rainbows, emerald cities, and hot air balloons. But we also wanted to draw inspiration from the darker side of wicked witches, tornadoes, storm cellars, and poisonous poppy fields. All these little pieces came together to form something magical. We wanted our "bride to resemble the youth and innocence of Dorothy, so Mary Maclane (and her boyfriend, Peter Gerhardt - the pair of which make up the musical duo "Goodnight Moon") was a perfect choice.

CHOOSING A HASHTAG
Hashtags are supported by many social networks, including Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. In short, a hashtag allows you to assign a topic to your image or post. For a wedding, your hashtag should be unique–just using #mywedding isn't going to cut it–as well as memorable. You don't want a hashtag that's too long or hard to read when printed. If both your first names are short enough, combining them with the year is a good option (something like #markalice2013). Another great option is your new surname with the word "wedding" and/or the year (both #cookwedding and #turnerwedding2013 work).
5. ADD IT TO YOUR PROGRAM As guests arrive and take their seats, the program is a great w ceremony.
6. NOTIFY YOUR WEDDING PLANNER OR DESIGNER Be sure to notify your planner (if you have one) and the peopl out at the reception. 7. RECEPTION CARDS One of the best ways to get participation is small notification

GETTING YOUR PHOTOS WHEN IT'S ALL OVER
When it's all over, you're going to want to viewmaybe even print–your images as soon as possible. The great thing is, you've got plenty of options. For the impatient folks, you can always use the Instagram app to quickly browse your hashtagged images and videos on your phone. For viewing your images on a big screen, you can also easily download the image files or save them to Facebook and Dropbox. Statigr.am and Gramfeed are also great ways to quickly view your hashtag in a browser. Once you've got the images, you might want to order prints, create a book, or print some art for your home. Fortunately, you've got tons of options. Here's 5 of our favorites:

WHAT IS YOUR VENUE'S HISTORY? The ranch has a rich history dating back to the 1800s as a dairy farm. However, it is best known for its rise to international acclaim under the ownership of Jay and Dorothy Stream, who occupied the ranch from the 1950’s until 2012. The Streams, often in partnership with Jay’s client, the legendary Wayne Newton, bred world class Arabian horses. The Streams quickly made this majestic piece of land a highly acclaimed horse facility; creating an event venue like no other for our community. In recent years, the property and its facilities had fallen on hard times and were in need of substantial renovation. In July of 2012, two local families acquired the property and immediately went to work restoring the grounds and structures. Their plans were to honor the property's past by returning it to its previous grandeur, while creating a destination venue that is representative of its rich and beautiful history. Greengate Ranch & Vineyard owners, along with their staff, are proud to provide to our community a newly restored horse training & boarding facility, a relaxing place to stay and a unique location to create lasting memories. DESCRIBE YOUR ATMOSPHERE AND FEEL... At Greengate Ranch and Vineyard you will experience an upscale California Ranch that is unique and picturesque. We have thoughtfully restored the Ranch with the upmost care to enhance the natural landscape of Edna Valley, to preserve the history of the property and to provide our guests with a lasting experience. We have approximately 90 acres of rolling vineyard, horses roaming in the pasture, a majestic pond with a tree canopied peninsula, a beautifully restored rustic barn (both are ideal for wedding ceremonies) and 2 restored ranch style homes available for vacation rental when booking our venue.
| 87
HOW MANY GUESTS CAN YOUR VENUE TYPICALLY ACCOMMODATE? We can accommodate an intimate wedding of 50 at our beautiful Estate House or host larger wedding of up to 400 guests using the grounds around the Vintage Barn. WHAT AMENITIES COME WITH THE VENUE? Our most impressive amenities are the tastefully restored ranch homes – The Estate House and The Carriage House. These ranch homes are available when booking events at Greengate Ranch & Vineyard and are what sets us apart from the rest. The Estate House is a 6,000 square foot, 6 bed/8 bath ranch style home, perched on the highest hilltop of the property. With spectacular views of the Greengate Vineyard and Edna Valley, The Estate House is an incredible addition to any event. Event considerations include: rehearsal dinners, brunches, and smaller more intimate weddings. The Carriage House is an adorable 1,200 square foot, 3 bed/2bath ranch style home, located in close proximity to the Vintage Barn and is a perfect space for the bride and her ladies to stay the night before and/or to use as their private dressing room for the day of. The Vintage Barn is a newly renovated barn that has all the character and charm of an old hay barn with the amenities of a new facility, i.e. (power, insulation, lighting, wifi, satellite & flat screen TV for video presentations. Also available - 24 round tables, 8 banquet tables, 200 Mahogany chairs, wine barrel cocktail tables, 3 wine barrels with umbrellas and our very own Greengate Ranch & Vineyard fire pit! DO YOU HAVE A SUITE FOR THE BRIDE AND HER GIRLS TO GET READY IN? The Carriage House and Estate House serve as perfect places for the bridal party and/or family to use for getting ready for the festivities of the day.
DO YOU OFFER YOUR VENUE FOR REHEARSAL DINNERS? With rental of the Estate House you have an amazing location for a rehearsal dinner for up to 60 people. Either inside or outside, this ranch-style home will provide view and the backdrop for a perfect evening. WHAT DO YOU DO AS FAR AS COORDINATION THE DAY OF? We request all of our wedding parties to work with a wedding coordinator and we can assist in this capacity, either by providing a referral or providing coordinating services. HOW DOES SETUP AND TEARDOWN GO DOWN? Set up and tear down is negotiated in our agreements. Some of our guests, prefer to not be responsible for the task, others prefer to be more hands on. We are willing to work with our guests on an individual basis for what best suits their needs. WHAT TIME DOES THE PARTY HAVE TO END? All good things do come to an end. We require music to be turned off at 10 pm and all guests (other than those registered to stay in one of our ranch houses) are to leave soon after.

ABOUT YOUR VENUE? For me personally, Greengate Ranch & Vineyard is a beautifully restored wedding venue that offers a lifetime of memories to our guests. The Vintage Barn, the Estate & Carriage Houses, majestic ponds and rolling hills of vineyard, the charm of the roaming horses… simply put its one fantastic wedding venue! IN DEFENSE OF PAPER by Kerry Grolle
Have you ever been excited to get an invitation in the mail and thought, “this is delightfully surprising”? On the other hand, have you ever received an invitation online and thought to yourself, “this seems kind of impersonal and inadequate”? If you answered yes to either of these questions, then feel free to stop reading because you get it – you understand the importance of a heartfelt and personal invitation, and you see the value in the emotions evoked by that invitation. But, in the off chance you answered no, please allow me to share a better way before you wander into a world of impersonal digital correspondence. There was a time in the past when people would document important life events by painting on cave walls, carving into wood or stone, or transcribing them on stretched animal vellum. We’ve always had a love affair with the ability to keep records and something came along that changed our love forever: the invention of paper. Initially, paper was not an easy item to manufacture; it was mainly a luxury item circulated for the enjoyment of the educated elite. It was here, amongst the literate aristocracy, that the paper wedding invitation came to be. Well before Queen Victoria sparked the trend of white wedding dresses and even earlier than DeBeers began marketing diamond engagement rings, the wealthy population decided to ditch the call of the town crier in favor of the more discreet yet extravagant paper wedding invitation. Thankfully, both the production of paper and the wedding stationery tradition have been around long enough to evolve; now the once-exclusive commodity is easily available to all of us. Customized stationery begins to set the tone of a wedding well before the event itself. It usually starts with a Save the Date, which early on allows recipients to feel personally part of the event without yet being formally invited. After that, a few months before the big day, the wedding invitations arrive. Opening the invitation is memorable experience for guests, to say the least, akin to striking the crowning blow on a piñata.
They are invited to the event, they are informed about the event and most of all, they are included in the event. The only way to top a beautiful invitation is to hire a courier to go to each guest’s house and read an invitation decree straight off an medieval scroll. But custom stationery doesn’t stop there – it plays a crucial role on the wedding day as well. Coordinating signage directs guests; a program lays out the order of events; place cards and table numbers guide and create order; the menu describes what will be served; and guest books provide a place for emotions to be shared. There are so many details that are part of a thought-out stationery suite that, without all of these things, a wedding has the possibility of feeling haphazard or half-done. Beyond warm, fuzzy feelings and logical structure for the event, paper goods also add character. Design, color scheme, theme, and mood can all be conveyed and curated within a well-designed stationery suite. An outdoor wedding on a summer day may use letterpress flowers and flourishes in warm colors to excite the guests, whereas a night-time winter wedding may use red-wine-dipped designs to fully engage the senses and foreshadow an evening of libation-fueled festivities. The options in paper are limitless, allowing each couple to send a piece of themselves to their guests. Custom stationery is the inspired accumulation of personal affection, design exhibition, and event organization. It’s a keepsake for loved ones to cherish! Even in today’s increasingly digital culture, the screen is no place to receive a wedding invitation – they might be easy to use and cost-effective, but online invites fall flat when compared to something tangible. There is no amount of html code, clipart or message flagging that can make a digital invitation have the same impact or be as memorable as a paper one. Paper is “where it’s at”, and ultimately, getting a beautiful piece of mail has the same strange satisfaction as napping in a ray of sunshine.

HOW DID YOU GET STARTED IN DOING WHAT YOU DO? N: I was obsessed with weddings and the idea of marriage so when my sister-in-law got married in 2007 I took it upon myself to plan her entire wedding.
