YOU ARE PAYING THE TAXES ROMNEY AVOIDS Has the public gone brain dead or are they so in love with idols they will cut their own throats to worship money-mongers? Americans are so caught up in worshipping people who have made a significant amount of money or who have gained a great deal of public notoriety they are blind to the ugly sides of them. Just as idiots glorified the outlaw Jesse James, a bank robber, cold blooded murderer, and train robber, modern idiots idolize the superrich who have schemed, cheated, lied, and stepped on middle-class Americans to accumulate wealth. If you, a working person in America elect such a person, if you even nominate him to be your candidate you are INSANE beyond description!!!!!

Americans honor dope-heads, whores, and any other miscreant who can get public attention because they themselves are feeling so inadequate they need something to fill the emptiness inside their intelligence-starved craniums. Two-hundred forty-seven members of Congress are said to be millionaires, many multimillionaires such as wannabee-president Mitt Romney who wants middleclass America to drool over his $250 Million dollar s and elect him President of the United States.

This week he admitted that although he is worth $250 million dollars he only pays about 15% income tax. How does he do it? He says he makes his money in capital gains ventures. In the meantime, while he enjoys the benefits of being worth $250 million dollars the American public has to pay more to make up for what he ought to be paying in taxes but isn’t. How does it feel Mr. Voter to know that you are giving welfare to a man worth $250 million dollars. Maybe we ought to give him food stamps too! South Side Political Activist Ray Lodato Announces Candidacy

AFL-CIO Illinois State Federation

For 1st Congressional District Seat

Springfield, IL – The Illinois AFL-CIO today endorsed Bill Foster who is running to represent the new 11th Congressional District. The AFL-CIO represents nearly 900,000 union members in Illinois. “We are proud to endorse Bill Foster because he has a proven record of standing up for working families," said Michael Carrigan, President of the Illinois AFL-CIO. "In Congress Bill will fight to put middle class families back to work and protect Medicare for our seniors. In times like these, we need someone who will stand up for us and end the partisan bickering in Washington." “I am proud to receive the Bill Foster support of the AFL-CIO and working families in the new 11th Congressional District,” said Bill Foster. “As we continue to build grassroots support, working families will be the backbone of our campaign because they know we need to focus on putting people back to work and protecting Medicare for our seniors.”

(Chicago)— Kicking off “a grass-roots campaign for 21st

Century leadership that looks forward, not backward,” South Side community activist and political scientist Ray Lodato has announced his candidacy for the Democratic nomination for Congress in the First Congressional District. Lodato is calling for policies that will create jobs in the district, which will have a positive impact on many of the problems that affect families in the cities and suburbs of the First District. The District has an unemployment rate of 13.9%, which is a key factor in the high rate of home foreclosures and puts pressure on local governments to provide emergency assistance. Lodato favors policies to increase the demand for clean energy Ray Lodato as a way to create 21st Century jobs for the First District. A recent report by the Environmental Law and Policy Center listed dozens of clean energy firms in the Chicagoland area that are poised to add jobs. “There’s no reason the First District should have to import our green technology from California, Germany or China,” Lodato says. “As Congressman, I’ll sponsor legislation that will call for greater use of clean energy, increasing the demand for green technology and creating jobs for our residents.” Lodato calls for a commitment to educational excellence. “Equality of education is necessary if we are to prepare our children for jobs in the economy of the future,” Another pillar of his jobs strategy is Lodato’s call for building high-speed rail lines to link Chicago to nine other major Midwestern cities. “We need to invest in the transportation of tomorrow, which will provide jobs today,” Lodato says. “By investing in high-speed rail, we are reclaiming Chicago’s historic position as the transportation hub of America, and creating jobs that cannot be outsourced. Many of these lines will go through the First District and will provide jobs for our residents.” While earning his Ph.D. in political science from the University of Chicago, Lodato co-founded a community organization, the Neighborhood Conservation Corps, which focused on giving individuals from public housing developments jobs and jobs skill training in order to enable them to transition to the mainstream economy and skilled labor positions. Lodato is married and has three sons. His campaign website is www.lodato4congress.com, and his Facebook page is Ray Lodato for Congress.

KINZINGER DOES NOT THINK HE JUST VOTES TEA PARTY FOR THE PAY Adam Kinzinger did not work before he was elected to Congress and it appears he is not working there either. Oh he shows up and he votes but Congressmen are elected to represent the voters and he does not, he represents the Tea Party. Know-nothing Adam votes strictly with the Republican majority and it is likely he does no thinking for himself. It is more likely that he ran with an understanding that he would get his annual salary as a Congressman and backing during elections in return for his votes. That works for the Tea Party but does nothing for the voters. It is obvious that neither Kinzinger or the Tea Party cares what is good for voters - they know best.

Good Ole’ Boys Caught Lying! Politicians Conspire to Conceal Radioactive Water in Texas http://www.khou.com/news

THE ONLINE VERSION HAS A VIDEO IN THIS SPACE

Texas Governor Rick Perry, another good ole boy, wants to be the president . He now has the gall to expect people to vote for him outside of Texas. Can he really be that shortsighted? Why should anyone say bad things about Texas Governor Rick Perry knew Mr. Perry? Only because he made himself part of statewide cover up in Texas to change water quality records and a cover up that saw Texas officials lying to the United States Government about the quality of Texas water. He himself has called his honesty into question; his willingness to go along with the crowd has put him into the same category as his colleague former Texas Governor George W. Bush. Texan good ole boys seem to think they are a world unto themselves. Perhaps they should be. George W. Bush condemned the former leader of Iraq, Saddam Hussein, for putting his own people in danger but so far George W. Bush has not said a single word to criticize the many, many Texas officials who have been guilty of intentionally feeding their own citizens radioactive water while lying that it was pure and healthy. Some allege they knew what they did might kill people with cancer but disregarded that danger. Of course, Mr. Bush would be forced to criticize good

Reported by KHOU TV, Houston 05/11 Texas can boast many things. It is big. Really big; it is second in size only to Alaska it. It has executed more prisoners since 1976 (474 as of September 2011) than any other state. Texans admittedly like to brag. Example: former President George W. Bush who may be the best image yet of Texas. He proved some people like braggarts, loudmouths, liars, and people of little brainpower as their leader. Remember, the people of Texas elected him a governor before he weaseled his way into the Whitehouse through a Supreme Court whose ethics will long be the low

ole boys and in Texas one just does not do that because if you are in the clique in Texas you escape criticism and jail. The world was lied to and deceived by our former president who held Saddem Hussein, a terrible man by the way, out to be so terrible it was absolutely necessary to destroy Iraq to prevent him from being a greater international threat. Bush’s lie cost America 7 billion a month for 8 years. The weapons of mass destruction George W. Bush made the world fear were never found but radioactivity in Texas water was and its presence was intentionally concealed. Records were altered to hide the truth. It is unlikely anyone will stand trial for their part in this enormous conspiracy against the people of Texas because good Form er Pres. George W. Bush ole boys are generally beyond the reach of the law, that is, unless Uncle Sam steps into put those responsible in federal prisons. The haters, the liars, the big mouths, the dregs of humanity will escape justice but you can keep Governor Rick Perry from a run for the presidency – that would be some justice. In the meantime Texas prisons will hold 45% AfricanAmericans, 18% Hispanics, and it will spend more on prisons than on education and transportation combined according to the NAACP. Texas is tough on crime but good ole boys including the Texas legislature seem to be excluded.

Germ hotspots to look out for during cough and cold (ARA) - We're reminded time and again of the good health habits we should practice during the winter germ season - wash your hands, cover your cough and stay home when you're sick. While you likely know these basics, you might not be aware some of the most common places germs tend to congregate and spread. Taking proper care to kill germs after you come into contact with these germ hotspots can be one of the keys to staying healthy this season. The tricky part is many of these hotspots are places you encounter when you're on the go and aren't necessarily close to a sink. That's where keeping a portable hand sanitizer handy like those offered from PURELL (R) can help. The gas station and convenience store When you're pumping gas, have you ever thought about how many other hands have touched the same pump since the last time it was wiped down? A recent study confirmed that gas pumps are one of the filthiest items we encounter in everyday life. After you fill your tank, your next move should be to reach for that bottle of hand sanitizer in your car. And while cashiers typically work hard to keep their counters clean, it's never a bad idea to wash your hands or use hand sanitizer after exchanging cash or touching other common areas in the store. The gym Most health clubs go to great lengths to keep equipment clean and make members feel comfortable. But if you're hopping on the treadmill right after someone else, it never hurts to use a sanitizing wipe, which many clubs keep readily available. Pay it forward by using another one when you are done. Grocery store If you're a parent, you know that it's not just the driver's hands that are getting all over the shopping cart, since kids tend to be obsessed with any moving object with wheels. Consider using a sanitizing wipe before touching a grocery cart. Once you're done shopping, cleansing your hands and any younger shopping companions' hands with sanitizer is a good way to stem the spread of germs that might have been picked up from frequently touched surfaces in the store. The mall Escalator and stair railings, as well as drinking fountains and armrests on benches, see a lot of action throughout the day and collect germs quickly. Put those sanitizing stations in the shopping center's hallways to good use after touching these areas. At work Frequently touching your desk, phone and keyboard means germs multiply at your work station. Keeping tissues and hand sanitizer at your desk can also be helpful for those emergencies when you can't leave your seat immediately to get to the sink. There's no way to avoid germs altogether during the winter germ season, but you can take action by recognizing some of the most common areas where germs tend to congregate. By keeping your bottle of PURELL (R) Hand Sanitizer close, you'll make sure you can keep your hands fresh and clean no matter where you are.

How to extend the life of your heating system (ARA) - Just as regular tuneups may extend the life of your car, performing routine maintenance to your home's heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system may extend the life of your HVAC equipment. While there are some tasks homeowners can handle on their own, many HVAC projects require a professional contractor. Independent Customer Care (TM) Dealers from American Standard Heating & Air Conditioning offer a quick overview of basic service tasks for do-ityourselfers and service jobs that require a pro: Furnace maintenance: DIY To prevent costly repairs and keep your system operating at peak efficiency, replace your furnace filters on a monthly basis. Furnace maintenance: Pro A licensed HVAC contractor should fully inspect your furnace at least once per year. Outdoor unit: DIY Keep the area surrounding the outdoor unit free of debris - remove any grass or leaves near the base of the unit and keep nearby shrubbery pruned. Outdoor unit: Pro When servicing an outdoor unit, a professional will inspect the unit's wiring and repair any loose or damaged connections. Green living plus green savings: an efficient equation for today's homeowners (ARA) - Across the nation, both building professionals and consumers are embracing the idea of sustainable building practices. Green building brings together a vast array of practices and techniques to reduce and ultimately eliminate the impacts of buildings on the environment and human health. It often emphasizes taking advantage of renewable resources, such as using sunlight to generate solar power and using plants to reduce rainwater run-off. According to the Energy Information Administration, the demand for green homes is expected to rise 900 percent in the next five years. In the home, using energy efficient appliances can dramatically reduce energy waste and cut costs. Companies like Miele offers a full range of Energy Star rated appliances for every room in the house from the kitchen to the laundry room. For example, Miele offers induction cooktops, which use a non-contact method of heating using magnetic fields to transfer energy directly to cookware. The cooking surface is cool in operation and only generates heat where the pan sits on it. As soon as the pan is removed, the flow of heat stops immediately. For more information on the various types of energy efficient appliances available, visit www.mieleusa.com.

ANNOUNCES NEW MEMORY ADVANCE

THE ONLINE VERSION HAS A VIDEO IN THIS SPACE

Companies such as Yahoo, Google, and Facebook, to mention some, utilize tremendous amounts of memory to maintain their vast systems of information. In the early days of computers 64 thousands bits of memory were considered large; then came 128 k an so one. When IBM came out with a one hundred megabyte system it was thought to be adequate to last a lifetime. Little did the world realize that one day Microsoft would introduce Windows and from there on the need for more and more memory, both for running programs and for storing information would escalate at nearly the speed of light. As technology brings us more and more products and as we choose to store more and more data electronically the need for larger fields of memory and greater speeds to store it will be needed. That is the reason the announcement by IBM that it has re-arranged atoms in a manner that allows only twelve atoms to store a bit of memory if a giant step forward in technology. Much work needs to be done before the breakthrough will find its way into common storage devices for it is presently only stable at extremely low temperatures. The significant factor is the discovery that it is possible to store a byte (8 bits of information) in as few as 96 atoms, i.e. 12 atoms per bit. This is, however, not the end by any means for IBM will continue to probe the mysteries of science to learn what relationship exists between current technology and quantum mechanics.

(ARA) - The baby boomer generation makes up an estimated 76 million people - roughly one-fourth of the U.S. population. This means that either you or someone you love is part of this aging group. According to Eye on the Boomer, a recent survey by the Ocular Nutrition Society, almost as many baby boomers say they worry about losing their vision as those that say they worry about having heart disease or cancer. What's more, 78 percent of those surveyed ranked vision as the most important of the five senses. Yet, more than half of the survey respondents ages 45-65 said they don't typically have a recommended annual eye exam, and even fewer are aware of important nutrients that can play a key role in eye health. Experts recommend that disease prevention, including lifestyle modification, attention to dietary intake and vitamin supplementation must become a greater focus of primary vision care. Studies indicate that proper nutrition promotes healthy eyes, however many American diets are found to be deficient of the critical nutrients that help protect eye health. "If people are at risk for heart disease they typically make lifestyle modifications," says Dr. Jeffrey Anshel, president of the Ocular Nutrition Society. "This survey found that people are as concerned about their eyes but do not know the simple steps they can incorporate into their daily lives to take care of them." * Vitamin supplements can be used for your eyes, too While people take a variety of different supplements to support their health, vitamins specifically formulated to help protect the eyes are often not in the mix - and for many people, they should be. While more than half of those surveyed are taking supplements to protect their joints, bones or heart health only 18 percent say they take supplements to support their eye health. "As we grow older, the need for certain vitamins and nutrients to support the eye increases - the survey revealed

Baby boomers: Don't forget to care for your eyes as you age low awareness of these essential nutrients," says Anshel of nutrients like omega-3 fatty acids, lutein and zeaxanthin. He adds that there is a "need for greater education on the lifestyle modifications that baby boomers can incorporate into their daily lives, including proper nutrition, to help safeguard eye health as they age."

To help protect eye health as they age, Anshel recommends people aged 45-65 take the following steps: * Stop smoking, exercise regularly and wear sunglasses with UV protection * Make an annual appointment with an eye doctor * Eat foods rich in eye healthy nutrients, such as tuna or salmon for omega-3s and spinach, kale and broccoli containing lutein and zeaxanthin * To help overcome shortfalls in the diet consider a vitamin supplement specifically-formulated for eye health To learn more about the Eye on the Boomer survey as well as eye health, please visit ocularnutritionsociety.org.

How smart shopping can help transform your lifestyle (ARA) - Eating right and exercising is something we all know we should do, but the follow-through can be harder than we think. You don't need to take part in an expensive or radical health program to improve your life. Thinking long term and making small changes like shopping smarter and taking a closer look at what we eat can help improve our lives. Shop with a plan Try to avoid going grocery shopping without a list or menu in mind - or worse still, when you're hungry. Wandering through the aisles can lead to picking up a lot of foods you don't need or aren't good for you, leading to expensive trips now and poor health later. But if you shop smarter, you can turn the same trip into a much less painful experience on your wallet and your waist line. Creating a list and planning your menu for the week ahead is a great way to start. You can shop for only what you need in a given week, and if your schedule is particularly chaotic, you can prepare many of your meals in advance. Once you get into a routine, it can be much easier to navigate the grocery store. Look at labels One way to help get yourself feeling great on the inside and out is to take a closer look at what you're buying. If

you're not sure where to start, consider the advice from the American Heart Association and look for foods that are lower in sodium. Whether you are looking for snack items, main course options or condiments, more and more companies are trying to help consumers by making options that will help you move toward a better-for-you lifestyle. For example, Vlasic pickles has introduced their new line of Reduced Sodium pickles that have 25 percent less sodium. One serving of the reduced sodium pickles amounts to only seven percent of the daily sodium intake values outlined by the AHA and the Food and Drug Administration. And as an added bonus they have zero fat or calories. Also, keep an eye on the serving size of what you're eating. If you need help sticking to that, try using this "serving size card" from the National Heart, Blood and Lung Institute for reference. Tweak recipes For those who love to cook, so many of the recipes handed down from generation to generation aren't always the healthiest. Part of the joy of cooking is that it's more art than science, so cut back on items that aren't healthy and substitute in better-for-you items. If you are looking for inspiration or help, search for any one of the thousands of food blogs on the Internet - many of which offer healthier alternatives, like Hungry Girl or the Food Network's Healthy Eating Blog. Living a better-for-you lifestyle doesn't mean giving up all the foods that you love and enjoy - it means being smarter about how you shop, cook and eat. Once you do that, you'll be amazed at how much better you feel.

The typical school classroom has interactive whiteboards, computers, laptops, calculators and even video games. Nearly 85 percent of teachers feel that in order for their students to succeed in school, they need to have a general understanding of the latest technology, according to an IPSOS poll taken for Duracell. This is because once students leave the school setting, they're Technology is taking learning to a new level, and as it continues to improve, your children will be incorporating technology into their learning at more advanced levels. For example, your child's newest book report may skip using paper altogether. With a few quick clicks, books can be downloaded to her e-reader, which she'll read on the bus, while in between school and her extracurricular activities and at night before crawling into bed. Once the book is finished, she can type her report on her laptop computer, email it to her teacher and, if necessary, present it to her class using a computer slideshow presentation on the classroom interactive whiteboard. For young elementary students, the success of computer games like Number Munchers has exploded. Now children can learn spelling, basic math, science, history, geometry and even art through online games in both the classroom and at home. At the higher grade levels, some teachers are designing projects completely developed around online research, which students conduct on laptops, smartphones and other mini computers. These projects allow students to properly cite their sources and develop skills in finding quality reference material online. The technology interest goes beyond the traditional classroom setting. Health & Wellness Does Lung Cancer Courtesy of ARAcontent Discriminate? Does Lung Cancer Discriminate? Addressing the Lack of Diversity in Lung Cancer Clinical Trials (ARA) - Research shows that racial and ethnic minorities are more likely to develop cancer and die from it than the general U.S. population, but are historically underrepresented in clinical trials. As part of lung cancer awareness month, Dr. Coleman Obasaju, a frequent speaker on health disparities around the world, provides his take on the issue. Obasaju is a clinical and senior medical director at Lilly Oncology. Q: Why does lung cancer disproportionately impact minority populations? Obasaju: Lung cancer maintains its status as one of the most prevalent and deadly of all cancers. Approximately 200,000 new cases are expected to be diagnosed in the U.S. this year globally this figure swells to about one million. This disease takes a particularly heavy toll on African Americans. Despite their lower smoking rates, African Americans are more likely than Caucasians to develop and die from lung cancer. It is not clear why African Americans have a greater risk for developing lung cancer, but researchers believe it may be in part related to a

person's genetics, environmental and socio-economic background. Q: Why is it so critical for minorities to participate in clinical trials? Obasaju: One way to get a better understanding of this situation is through increased diversity in clinical trials. Historically, minorities have been underrepresented. Several factors contribute to this, including a lack of awareness about the importance of diversity in cancer research. Economics, language and cultural barriers, coupled with a historical mistrust of the clinical trial process, also contribute to the low rates of minority participation. Despite these challenges, we must continue to find ways to increase their participation. This change is vital to ensure researchers understand how lung cancer affects all populations and substantiate whether treatments are effective across all ethnic groups. Q: What can be done to increase minority participation in clinical trials? Obasaju: To start, research teams can identify clinical trial sites located in close proximity to minority groups. Other critical steps include translating details about clinical trial enrollment into

different languages, creating culturally adaptable patient tools and working with patient navigators, who can help guide clinical trial participants through the treatment process. We need to continue to raise awareness on the importance of minority representation in clinical trials and trust that if minorities know more about this critical issue, it will inspire them to take action. Q: Where can someone go for more information about participating in a clinical trial? Obasaju: A healthcare provider is one of the best resources to explain how patients can participate in a clinical trial. Healthcare providers can direct eligible individuals to the most appropriate trial taking place in their area and explain the process for enrolling. There are also great resources available online, including the National Cancer Institute's website (cancer.gov/clinicaltrials). This site allows users to search for trials that are currently enrolling participants and provides users with a variety of answers to the most pressing questions about trial participation.

Tips for taking great family photos (ARA) - Everyone loves when a family photo turns out just right. But often, the photos you snap (especially photos of little ones and groups) don't make the cut. Here are a few tips to help any member of the family take wonderful pictures: * Don't be scared to be the paparazzi. Keep your camera handy at all times and snap lots of photos. * Lights, camera, action. If you're taking photos outdoors, do it either early in the morning or late in the afternoon. If you are shooting indoors, see which time of day the room lights up the most and choose that time for the photo shoot. * Give babies a comfortable place to lounge. Newborns can be placed in a comfortable (and photo friendly) place like the Boppy Newborn Lounger. This pillow has a recessed interior so baby can snuggle comfortably in it while you snap away. Cover it with a white sheet for a neutral background. * Be aware of the background. It's easy to focus on a great smile while forgetting about what might be in the background of a picture. Make sure backgrounds are simple and don't distract from the main attraction - the people.

HALVORSON SEEKS NOMINATION IN 2ND

JIM HICKEY WORKING FOR NOMINATION IN 11th

THE ONLINE VERSION HAS A VIDEO IN THIS SPACE

Challenging Incumbent Jesse Jackson Questions 15 year delay on airport Debbie Halvorson resides in Crete. She is a former Congresswoman from the 11th District, State Senator and was the first woman to be Senate Majority Leader in Illinois. She began her career in politics as Clerk of Crete, IL. Halvorson was elected to Congress to represent the old 11th Congressional District. In 2010 she was caught up in a wave of anger that sent many incompetents to Washington D.C. Among them was Adam Kinzinger a young man who never earned a living, and who was supported by the Tea Party and its big bucks. To this very day, only 2 hours ago, it is impossible to reach Adam Kinzinger. On Wednesday as a protest was ongoing across the nation to stop the passage of Internet piracy bills Adam Kinzinger was listed as a representative to contact. All the other contacts could be reached but Kinzinger’s page was not up. While Halvorson was in Congress she worked for families and for veterans. She is a sincere and honest person who son served in the Army and was wounded. He was transferred to Walter Reed Hospital while she was in Congress where she visited him daily. Jim Hickey says he is the only candidate who is offering REAL Solutions to America's problems. He charges that his opponents want to create committees to evaluate what’s wrong before making decisions or offering real solutions. According to Hickey his ideas come from discussions with the constituents of the 11th Congressional District; not through expensive polling or by crafting ideas that sound good. Every candidate can say what’s wrong, but offering real solutions takes courage and an understanding of the challenges facing Americans daily. Hickey has gone door to door meeting constituents; he has walked more than 200 miles. Hickey said he is the only candidate who comes from the heart of the working class. He originates from a 4th Generation Union Member family, but also has experience as a small business owner. Jim Hickey explains that we need people in Congress who understand the challenges and hardships that Americans live with such as struggling to put food on the table, keep a roof over their heads, filling the gas tank. Here Are Some Of The Hickey Solutions: The American Middle Class is the backbone of the economy; the economy is faltering because middle-class America is broke but we can: 1) Fix the housing market. We need to help the people that are currently underwater with their loans, to refinance. I propose a split equity position with the lender. The payments will be 38% lower, and on an average $200,000 loan, the savings will be $350 a month. 2) Student Loan Reform. Our students young and old are being taken advantage of with high interest and high payments. I propose connecting the interest rate to the US Treasury and amortizing over 50 years, with no prepay penalty. Under my plan the payments on a $40,000 loan would be $105 a month compared to the current $547 a month. The savings will be $440 a month. 3) Lower Gas Prices. 10 years ago, gas prices were $1.50 a gallon, and the cost to fill the gas tank was $20. Today the cost to fill a gas tank is $60 to $80. This equates to the Average American Family is spending $250 more per month today. Congress needs to authorize the Canadian Pipeline, and open the US Reserves.
