6699 is the typographical shape of quotation marks: “ and ”. This hand-made zine is a collection gathered by students in the English Speaking class at Kyoto University of the Arts. The five students in this class were free to write about any theme they wanted to. We hope you enjoy it.

Plushys I chose to create a few pages about animals, paws, plushy toys, and textile materials. These are mostly my own thoughts; I have tried not to say too much because I want you to think your own thoughts. I hope you enjoy it.

Ancient Egypt Makeup: Everything comes in through the eyes. Makeup begins with a bath, followed by applying perfumed oil all over the body before applying makeup to the eyes. In ancient Egypt, from the Old Kingdom to the New Kingdom, both men and women applied black or green eye shadow around the eyes. This makeup had a religious meaning of preventing demons from entering through the eyes, but it was more effective in preventing eye diseases that were prevalent in ancient times, and gradually became more of a fashionable element.

At first, it was common to paint black over the eyes and green underneath, but by the New Kingdom period, it seems to have become fashionable among women to use only black to frame the eyes to make them appear more clearly. Just as paintings and statues can be given soul by making eyes, the impression can be manipulated to a great extent by the eyes alone. Eye shadow is applied inside both upper and lower lids, and lines are drawn toward the ears.

Photography in Kyoto Fushimi Inari Taisha (Shrine) Fushimi Inari Taisha is a shrine and the head of all other Inari shrines throughout the country. The shrine is dedicated to the god Inari, and famous for his sprit animal, the fox. There are many shrines in Fushimi Inari Taisha, each of which has a long history and retains the old architectural style, which allows visitors to enjoy the different atmospheres.

Mirumeiku (strawberry), Mikkusumoti, News of this month’s fan signing ezvent A fan signing event for Jogasaki Mika, a popular character from the famous Idol Master Cinderella Girls, will be held on the 21st of this month. As a countermeasure against COVID-19, the agency promoting the event said it will conduct a preliminary survey online, and the number of participants will be limited to 100. The event is expected to attract many people because of its popular character Jogasaki Mika, and a consolation performance will be given to students at Kyoto University of the Arts.
