Who is Leeds College of Art? Over the past 160 years, Leeds College of Art has contributed significantly to the development of art education in Britain, having pioneered new ways to teach and to structure qualifications, and our reputation goes before us, with a plethora of notable alumni throughout the history of the college. We remain a leading centre for art and design education, and are proud to be one of the few remaining independent art schools. Every student who has passed through the college, from its beginnings as Leeds School of Art, to its time as Jacob Kramer and Leeds College of Art and Design, automatically become part of our alumni community. With notable alumni spanning right from the first graduates of 1846, this is a pretty special network and community to become a part of.

The Alumni Association 2013 sees the first year of an official alumni association been introduced by the College, with a dedicated member of full time staff to oversee and manage this new area as Alumni Relations Officer. Past students of the college have and always will become alumni automatically, but the College is now beginning to introduce a set of benefits for the alumni to access and open up some regular communications channels with alumni. This is because the College wants to create a lifelong relationship between itself and the alumni and one that is mutually beneficial. The alumni association will benefit current students, staff and provide a host of benefits for the alumni.
