For the love of New York Brief
Background
With the selection of research gathered into hidden gems and unconventional perspective of New York City consider a way to present this information to a selected audience. Consider the principle of ‘I’m not just a Tourist, I’m a New Yorker’ to influence your ideas.
New York is truly the city of multi-culture, wherever it’s inhabitants are from they are New Yorkers, in New York you can travel the world without leaving your neighbourhood, but consider how those people can living in New York can get the most of what New York has to offer in their everyday life and in their spare time, what perspectives of the city may they not have considered before.
Considerations Consider an appropriate format, concept or method of communicating and delivering this information to your chosen target audience.
Mandatory Requirements An aspect of final resolution must be print based
How can this information become tailored specific members of the chosen audience.
An aspect of the final resolution must be screen based
Consider existing format for this type of information and how you be different and innovative in presenting the information.
You will need to evidence research, development and production of your resolutions through your design context and design practice blogs. Your work should be documented through regular labelled posts to your Design Practice and Design Context Blog.
Target Audience My primary target audience is national and international tourists visiting or travel to New York City. My secondary target market is those people who already live in New York city. The resolution to this brief will primarily focus on targeting tourists however the content will also be relevant to those people living in New York who want to explore a new perspective to the city. The main goal in attracting and communicating with the target audience falls within the concept of ‘How not to a be a tourist in New York City’ the resolution will focus on those wanting to see the real New York not the New York created for tourists.
Correct labelling of your work on your blog is essential. Failure to organise your work clearly will affect the assessment of your work. Your response to the brief should be supported by a short rationale (250 words) and evaluation of your work in relation to the initial brief.
Deliverables A range of products demonstrating your final resolved concept 5 presentation boards
Tone of voice Information should be communicated in a informative but engaging way that encompasses surprise and adventure through the way information is presented. It should have a degree of colloquialism to city of New York.
