MATCH PREVIEW Continuing their six game road stretch to begin the season, Portland Thorns FC travel for a road match against the Orlando Pride. Saturday’s match marks the second meeting between the two sides in the first five weeks of the season. Portland won the previous meeting 2-0 on April 14 - the season-opening match for both sides. Saturday’s match is the fourth consecutive road match and the final trip to Orlando in regular-season play. Thorns FC are coming off a bye week, while the Pride are playing their sixth game of 2019.
NO PLACE LIKE HOME Playing their home matches at downtown Portland’s iconic Providence Park, Thorns FC have led the league in attendance in each of their first six NWSL seasons. Globally, Thorns FC have the highest attendance of any women’s professional team in the world, averaging 16,959 fans in their sixth season in the league in 2018. On Sept. 22, 2018, Thorns FC recorded their sixth sellout in club history for the 2018 NWSL Championship game between Portland and the North Carolina Courage - the largest crowd for a U.S. women’s professional soccer championship match.
