A slight nip in the evening air invites all of your favorite soups. This simply seasoned, tomato based soup is a welcoming meal for the fall season.

Seafood Soup Ingredients 1/2 c. chopped onion 1/2 c. chopped green pepper 3 T. minced fresh parsley 1 T. olive oil 1 c. chopped carrots 1 garlic clove, minced 1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce 1 can (14-1/2 ounces) diced tomatoes 3/4 c. white wine or chicken broth 1 bay leaf 1/2 t. dried oregano 1/4 t. dried basil 1/4 t. pepper 3/4 lb. salmon fillets, skinned and cut into 3/4-inch cubes 1/2 lb. uncooked medium shrimp, peeled and deveined Directions In a large saucepan, saute the onion, green pepper and parsley in oil until tender. Add carrots and garlic; cook and stir for 3 minutes. Stir in the tomato sauce, tomatoes, wine or broth and seasonings.

Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 30 minutes. Stir in salmon and shrimp. Cover and cook 7-10 minutes longer or until fish flakes easily with a fork and shrimp turn pink. Discard bay leaf. Yield: 6 servings.

Southeastern Junior Golf Tour

Team Magic along with the cities of Orange Beach and Gulf Shores hosted an exciting triathlon this weekend at the Hangout here on the beautiful beaches of Gulf Shores.

This was the 6th year for this event and you could feel the anticipation and eagerness of the athletes in the air.It began early Saturday morning with a 1.5 k swim in the Gulf of Mexico a 40k bike ride through the state park and finishes with a 10k scenic run .The new”Tri-it-on” Triathlon begins with a 300 yard swim a 9 mile bike.. With two race distances to choose from and relay teams as an option - this event has something for everyone.

It’s a hole in one! Excitement, competition and fun are all part of this tournament as junior golfers compete at the Gulf Shores Golf Club. The Golf Tour hosts about 50 events each year and is a great opportunity for young talent to grow in their confidence and gain experience competing in a tournament setting.
