Family Resiliency to the BP Disaster The Family Resiliency to the BP Disaster is a research project interested in studying resiliency in families. Families who were highly impacted from the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill that occurred on April 20, 2010 are eligible.

We Are Looking For: • Families with at least one teenager in the 9th thru 12th grade.

• Families who have lived on the Gulf Coast since January 1, 2010.

• Families who are willing to participate in a one year longitudinal study that can help us better understand resiliency.

Blue Angels Practice Schedule 2013 Naval Air Station Pensacola 8:30am www.navalaviationmuseum.org The Blue Angels will be back in Pensacola soon and the first practice is scheduled for Wednesday, March 20. Practices begin at 8:30 a.m.** and last about an hour. Admission to practice is FREE and open to the public. In addition, following most of the Wednesday practices, there will be an autograph session with the Blue Angels inside the National Naval Aviation Museum*. Stay on top of the action with the Blue Angels mobile app now available to download from iTunes and Google Play. Proceeds support the Naval Aviation Museum Foundation and the U.S. Navy Blue Angels.

Tuesday through Friday, April 2-5th; with take-offs from Naval Air Station (NAS) Pensacola scheduled for 11:30 a.m.

Bleacher seating is provided behind the National Naval Aviation Museum.

Following Wednesday’s practice, the team will visit the museum to answer questions and sign autographs.

Friday’s practice will launch from NAS Pensacola but the practice demonstration will not be viewable from the base or the National Museum of Naval Aviation.

The Blue Angels’ practice schedule for the remainder of April is still to be determined; updates will be released as soon as they become available.

One of my favorite restaurants on the island serves a delicious, creamy seafood lasagna filled with tender, flavorful seafood. Here’s an equally delicious recipe that presents the opportunity to use you family’s favorite fresh, local seafood.

Seafood Lasagna Ingredients

•1 green onion, finely chopped •2 T. canola oil •2 T. plus 1/2 C. butter, divided •1/2 c. chicken broth •1 bottle (8 oz.) clam juice •1 lb. bay scallops •1 lb. uncooked small shrimp, peeled and deveined •1 container (8 oz.) crab meat, chopped •1/4 t. white pepper, divided •1/2 c. all purpose flour •1-1/2 c. 2% milk •1/2 t. salt •1 c. heavy whipping cream •1/2 c. shredded Parmesan cheese, divided •9 lasagna noodles, cooked and drained

Directions

•In a large skillet, saute onion in oil and 2 tablespoons butter until tender. Stir in broth and clam juice; bring to a boil. Add the scallops, shrimp, crab and 1/8 teaspoon pepper; return to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 4-5 minutes or until shrimp turn pink and scallops are firm and opaque, stirring gently. Drain, reserving cooking liquid; set seafood mixture aside.

•In a large saucepan, melt the remaining butter; stir in flour until smooth. Combine milk and reserved cooking liquid; gradually add to the saucepan. Add salt and remaining pepper. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened.

•Remove from the heat; stir in cream and 1/4 cup cheese. Stir 3/4 cup white sauce into the seafood mixture.

•Spread 1/2 cup white sauce in a greased 13-in. x 9-in. baking dish. Top with three noodles; spread with half of the seafood mixture and 1-1/4 cups sauce. Repeat layers. Top with remaining noodles, sauce and cheese.

•Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown. Let stand for 15 minutes before cutting. Yield: 12 servings.
