LOOK OF LEISURE HISTORIC SEASIDE VILLAS OF THE NORTHERN BALTIC Summer villas became a special phenomenon on the Karelian Isthmus during the 1870s. The coastal stretch of the Isthmus northwest of St. Petersburg developed into a meeting point between two cultures. The area of Terijoki, today Zelenogorsk, became the most famous summer resort. Architecturally these buildings allowed great freedom in design. This study offers also insights to the contemporary questions concerning the future of this shared heritage. Gus Hall’s Life and Political Line Until the Late 1960s This study examines the life and political line of Gus Hall (1910–2000), the long-time general secretary of the Communist Party of the United States (CPUSA), up until the late 1960s. The study examines Hall’s Finnish American background and his life until 1959, when he became the general secretary of the CPUSA. The latter part is based on the documents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). FBI managed to infiltrate its informers into the very top of the CPUSA. On 25 August 1937, a strange-looking man appeared in the fishing hamlet of Teelin in Donegal, lreland. He spoke lrish, albeit with a foreign, Kerry accent. After a month there, the visitor, Ludwig Mühlhausen asked a local storyteller, Séamus Ó Caiside, if he could relate a few stories for him. These two men recorded 12 tales and two songs. ‘Scéal Rí na Gréige’ presents a version of the well-known international folktale type ATU 707:’Three Golden Children’.
