“I’ve stayed at a lot of very high end hotels and would say The Sebastian far exceeded those trips. My daughter asked if we could move in!” From TripAdvisor

A happy family walks into a soaring atrium awash in handcrafted woodwork and velvet textures. Stress and worry slip away and new energy is found. A solitary adventurer stands at the peak of North America’s largest single ski mountain, planning a perfect run through soft, fresh powder. Best friends sit at a game table in a handsome library surrounded by original artworks and gilt-edged, leather-bound first editions. And three generations gather around a well-provisioned table, toasting memories past and days to come. In the heart of Vail Village, there is a place rich in moments like these, each one a gift, each one a work of art. Introducing The Sebastian — A Timbers Resort and proud member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts.

As a destination, Vail is oneof-a-kind, a colorful, naturally entertaining collage of culture, sport and well-earned relaxation. For skiers it’s a mountain without equal, 5,289 acres dressed each year in 35 glorious feet of powder. Sleigh rides, cross country, snowshoeing — winter is a carnival in Vail. But there is something for everyone in every season. Summer boasts hiking, biking, rafting, fishing, golf and more. The Village, with flowers spilling from window boxes in summer, is in winter a forest of twinkling lights. Along the footpaths that crisscross the stream are boutiques, galleries, restaurants, and of course, the slopes. It’s an idyllic postcard of Bavarian bliss, with The Sebastian in the heart of it all.

“Everyone is committed to help no matter what — they almost read your mind regarding your needs and wishes and those of your family. It really is like being at home with all the luxury and service you can think of.” Guillermo Romo, Owner in Residences at The Sebastian

Imagine life surrounded by art. Paintings. Sculpture. Antiques. All original, each a masterpiece. Here, at every turn are the works of contemporary masters, including those of the world-renowned Mexican artist Manuel FelguĂŠrez, whose works were commissioned especially for The Sebastian. Even our exhilarating restaurant has been inspired by artistic genius, the legendary Leonora Carrington, whose sculpture you find throughout the hotel. At The Sebastian art inspires at every turn, making every stay a truly moving experience.

Vibrant, welcoming and pulsing with life, everything inside The Sebastian is stylish and exhilarating — the perfect confluence of approachable chic and high mountain comfort. Each of the spaces at The Sebastian vies as Vail’s most enthralling, but none more so than The Library. Rich, cozy and inviting, it boasts deep seating, games of skill and chance, art and books. Two thousand volumes bound in antique fabrics, saddle leather and vellum. Inside many are unique illustrations, hand-colored plates and one-of-a-kind volumes from a distinguished private library. They are here to peruse, admire and enjoy at leisure, to inspire and illuminate, just like The Sebastian itself.

Frost is the bar you can never pass up without dropping in. Hip, warm and social, it’s perfect for an après-ski microbrew or a smoky Scotch from our signature collection. Colorful glass floors, cozy banquettes, small plates, warm smiles, it’s just the place to wind up with a sleek cocktail before a night out, or wind down with something warm before turning in.

The views outside Leonora are of towering mountains. But another towering wonder is the centerpiece of this culinary landmark — a thousand-bottle wine silo. In all, the wine program includes some 350 labels and 5,000 bottles. There is a focus on the wines of Spain and its vinticultural siblings — Argentina and Chile, as well as rare finds from Mexico that round out a collection of esoteric selections. Thankfully, man need not live by bread alone.

T R A N S C E N D E N T TA PA S Leonora Carrington saw her first surrealist painting in Paris when she was just ten years old. It had a profound impact. Instead of perfection, the artwork conveyed to her a genuine sincerity, enlivened with a certain quirkiness. This first impression set Leonora on a career that would earn here worldwide acclaim, and the praise of Salvador Dali, who called Leonora “the most important female artist”. Like the artist Leonora, her namesake restaurant resonates with artful touches and creative approaches. And in this alpine setting, the bistro atmosphere and tapas style faire seems just right — the cuisine is new, but always accessible. It is honest, approachable yet intriguing and original. Spain, France, Argentina and Chile inform healthful dishes, and the atmosphere. Local artisans, a healthful and sustainable outlook play vital roles. The service ethos mirrors the artist’s work, sincere, accomplished, unrehearsed, yet with a decided sense of purpose. For dinner and private dining, it is an original, invigorating and fresh perspective that Leonora herself would surely applaud.

At The Sebastian, the Executive Chef and the entire culinary team bring satisfying new perspectives to every dining experience. Their approach is a bold palette of pure, ingredient-driven dishes that reflect the many talents of a culinary team with deep and diverse international experience.

“For all of you Vail lovers this is THE place to be. We have been visiting Vail straight for the past fifteen years, but The Sebastian brings a totally new dimension. Après Ski at Frost Bar is a must (their exclusive Mojito is unbelievable!) and when it comes to dining the best places in town are right here at home! Do not think twice. The Sebastian is truly the best of Vail!” Tony Gaitan, Owner in Residences at The Sebastian

Dining at Leonora is refined, delightfully unpretentious, sometimes whimsical and always comforting. And that’s just the setting. Highlights of the seasonal menu include a raw bar, tapas of calamari, croquetas and patatas, and mouthwatering mains such as slow roasted lamb with merguez sausage, wood roasted mussels and braised veal cheeks with olive oil mashed potatoes with green peppercorns. After a day on the mountain, it’s the perfect place for friends and family to unwind, reconnect and celebrate. And for Owners and guests, isn’t it wonderful that one of the best places to dine in all of Vail is right here?

After a day on the slopes or kneedeep in the stream, we invite you to nurture your mind, body and soul. “Our family is so happy to have invested in the private residence club at The Sebastian. The place is amazing, amenities are great, service is unique, but the best thing is the people. They make every day a wonderful experience. This place is truly our second home. Eduardo Michelson , Owner in Residences at The Sebastian

“Our experience was the best we have had. It will require extensive therapy to deal with the fact that I can’t live like that every day. My skis and boots were bone dry every day, even just hours after I wore them. I truly believe it was because the staff sincerely cared about my experience. Everyone added a level of comfort, convenience, and assistance that I have never experienced.” From TripAdvisor
