PHOTOGRAPHY
STORIES TO SHARE A PHOTOGRAPHIC JOURNEY INTO THE HUMAN SOUL Susan Buzzi, comes from a diverse background ranging from law enforcement to the private sector, to public service as a cultural arts administrator. Today Susan is an independent photojournalist and arts educator. As an artist, Susan feels a great responsibility to provide integrity with her work; and with the project "Stories to Share", she has taken on the role of designated warrior for cancer survivors and those in recovery to carry their message of hope and impart universal awareness.
This unique opportunity is not only an honor for Susan, but perhaps one of the greatest and most important challenge for her says the artist. Her responsibility includes survivors, the Foundation (Susan G. Komen for the Cure) and an obligation to inspire a dialogue within the community. As far as photography is concerned, Susan considers herself a purist; using only film and relying on natural light and manual camera settings in order to convey the image as it is prior to the shutter trip. For her, the magic resides in the darkroom. With the black & white process, establishing contrasts and definition the absence of color, Susan believes, becomes a viewers' self invitation, where they are able to superimpose upon their minds the subtle realities and messages her photography conveys. Susan is welcomed, amazed and humbled by the men and women who have participated in the project - their courage is a tribute to the human spirit. “There are

many stories; but one true journey for us all… and that is to live consciously and strive for spiritual and physical balance - be vigilant and be fearless!” For the 3rd consecutive year, with the documentary "Stories to Share", Susan has had the privilege of profiling the breast cancer journey through her camera lens. This installment, opening Oct 7 at Broward County Main Library in Fort Lauderdale from 4-5:30pm, features women of color and specific, high risk populations where research & genetic testing and trials are currently being conducted. There will also be several profile comparisons and a film. The African American Research Library & Cultural Center located at 2650 Sistrunk Blvd. in Fort Lauderdale will be exhibiting selections from Parts 1 & 2 and opens Oct 2 from 2-5pm. Both exhibitions will be on display throughout the month of October, National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. On Oct. 28th from 3-5:30pm Susan Buzzi will host “Think Pink” for teens. the marine world. The beautiful colors, the enchanting sunsets, the caressing wind, but above all, the direct contact with the dolphins which are my main source of motivation. Says Maruquis showing a deep sense of respect for the world, and deep appreciation for the opportunity to deliver a positive message. THE ART OF DREAMING DREAM IT...VISUALIZE IT... FEEL THE PASSION Marcelo Holzinger grew up as a happy child in Argentina. He was always drawn to beauty, nature, art, music and sports. His mother was a strong influence in his early years, often telling him: "You can overcome any challenge. Study hard, follow your dreams, and you'll have everything you want in your life."
22
TIME SOUTH
OCT - NOV 2010
Inspired by those words, he put his best into everything he did. He was an A+ student, and worked "I dream it, visualize it, and then‌ I just do it. I see each project as a dream come true." hard to develop his physical prowess. His interest in art was always strong; early on, he enrolled in drawing classes and started experimenting with paints. Later, he discovered a passion for music – bringing him a deeper level of appreciation for the performing and visual arts. Following his dreams, Marcelo earned a degree in Advertising and Design in the city of Buenos Aires. At the age of 22 Marcelo visited the USA, and the next year he traveled all around Europe. The history, mix of cultures, architecture and timeless art pieces deepened his aesthetic senses, and further strengthened his feeling that any-
thing is possible in life. After having such intense experiences at his early age, Marcelo embarked on an even bigger challenge – he moved to New York, a city he had fallen in love with. Alone, with just a backpack, his CD player and an English dictionary, he turned obstacles into opportunities. He attended design classes and worked as a graphic designer with various publications. Five years later, he moved to Miami Beach, where he was fascinated with the architecture, design and beauty of its buildings and hotels. Feeling very inspired, he discovered another passion: Interior design. Marcelo approached his first interior design projects as opportunities to channel his creativity in yet another way. He explains how his creative process works: "I dream it, visualize it, and then‌ I just do it. I see each project as a dream come true." Later, as part of his natural artistic progression, Marcelo started painting with acrylics, oils, and other media. He moved to Houston where he continued exploring his artistic vision, and where his artwork has been exhibited in galleries and art shows.
Marcelo has recently moved back to Miami, a city he adores: "I feel very blessed. I am still growing, evolving, learning, and always exploring different things. I paint, design, create, and love with passion‌ and with the intention of living every single moment to the fullest."

If escaping from the rigors of your everyday routine is a primary motivator for high-tailing it out of town and onto the decks of a cruise ship, what happens then,
when you throw holidays into that equation? It's no big surprise that everyone wants to go somewhere warm, and as the cruise lines are not offering trips to Alaska or Canada, it's rather difficult to cruise to those regions. Many prefer the closer tropics of the Mexican Riviera and the Caribbean. Runners-up, in order, are as follows: adventurous and untraditional destinations such as Asia, South America and Australia; rustic and relaxing regions like the Panama Canal; low-key and beau-

Magnesium is an element which can be formed into various compounds. Cheaper supplements, not surprisingly, contain compounds, such as magnesium oxide, which are cheaper to manufacture. The problem is that these compounds are not easily absorbed into the body and any absorption that does occur tends to be a one-time spike, which is not optimal. After researching and testing various magnesium supplements, I have found the magnesium compound provided by Jigsaw Health to be the most desirable. They use dimagnesium malate, which is released over time into the body. In addition, because the malate does not react with gastric acids, it does not upset the digestive system, which is the main reason for non-compliance in a magnesium supplement regimen. I started taking Jigsaw Health’s magnesium w/SRT a year ago and have benefited from increased energy, reduced anxiety, and reduced body aches. I strongly recommend their prod-
uct to anyone looking for improved health and to prevent the symptoms of magnesium deficiency. To learn more about Magnesium supplements and other health related products please visit www.JigsawHealth.com or call 866-601-5800
